In the 60s Batman show, there was an episode where Alfred single-handedly defeated the Joker.
Fun Fact: Red Claw is voiced by Kate Mulgrew, also known as Captain Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek.
From Batman to Voyager. From Villainess to Heroine awesome.
Damn I didn’t know that.
OITNB
If you were wondering Meg, the titular ‘Lion and Unicorn’ is a reference to the British national coat of arms, which is basically the royal family coat of arms - the supporters of which are a lion (England) and a unicorn (Scotland)
The Official Secrets Act is real, everyone in the Security Service (MI5) and Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) would have to sign it
Fun fact, in the comics in Alfred was actually a member of MI16 ( Britain's intelligence unit) hence why he's good at combat
Pre-Crisis he even served in World War Two, had an affair with a French freedom fighter (Mademoiselle Marie from DC's war comics), and had an illegitimate daughter with her
Technically 'Big Ben' is the name of the bell in the tower. But so many people use it to refer to the clock and/or the tower itself too these days.
There’s a show literally called penny worth all about Alfred’s spy days and how he met the Wayne’s. I haven’t seen it yet but it seems cool from what I heard.
Alfred has his own live action tv show it’s very underrated
Whaaat
Sees the title*
Me: *"He sure is Meg, he sure is."*
A version of Alfred's past is explored a little more in the TV series 'Gotham' but even moreso in the TV series 'Pennyworth' which is entirely focused on the 'Gotham' Alfred's younger days (which having some inspiration from the Nolan incarnation too). Also it is a loose prequel to 'V For Vendetta' which is strange because that graphic novel and it's film weren't part of the DC Universe.
'Pennyworth. Alfred Pennyworth.' Interesting dip into spy fiction with Alfred's backstory, giving the first villain of the series in for the S2 finale.
Finally, I can't wait to see your reaction to the The New Batman Adventures and how it revamps the universe and leads into the Superman Animated Series.
Just one episode away in Superman the Animated Series before the greatest superhero crossover of all time (until Justice League, of course)!
I'm a simple man: I see a MegMage Batman video, I click.
Fun Fact: Few Batman Fans know or remember Alfred Pennyworth has a daughter named Julia Pennyworth, when he was still an MI6 agent he was part of a task force of agents assigned to help a group of rebels from a small European country that was rebelling against the Dictator Government of his Country, The Leader of the Rebel Movement was a Woman called Anais Guillot who adopted the code name Mademoiselle Marie, she and Alfred had a romance that resulted in the birth of Julia!!!
Alfred Pennyworth is the best support character in Batman
and he is more than just a butler he is Awesome.📺🦇🦇📺
This is a perfect alfred solo story
One does wonder why they haven't changed that code in the rather long time since Alfred was active in the service.
"There's London Ontario..." A friend of mine, is from Manchester England, I mentioned Manchester New Hampshire and Birmingham, Alabama his exact quote "Oh, piss off, I don't care about towns named after or inspired by English towns, would you care if there was a English or Welsh City named New York?!" 👏🏼😂 (His Mom is from Wales by the way.)
They could connect Bruce to Batman through this...
But another way to look at it,
Batman protects Gotham City, and Alfred Pennyworth is a citizen of Gotham City with connections to a high profile member of Gotham city's elite. If he goes missing it wouldn't take long for Batman to hear about it.
Not to mention, from the perspective of the criminals, Batman often shows up before they've even committed their crimes, like "Magic". (Even though he's just using, stealth, snitches, informants, Audio/Video surveillance, etc.)
Oh boy, we’ve finally made it to the last one! Can’t wait for the new adventures if she’s going to react to that
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Batman The Animated Series!!!!!😊😊😊😊
Bert And Ernie just got real
“I haven’t seen James Bond...”
Dear Meg, I have a suggestion... now, hear me out...
You should check out Batman the Brave and the Bold, (when you get done with BTAS), It did take me a few episodes to get into it, it's a very different style... but it's emphasis on B(and well sometimes C/D list heroes) is actually really cool... but some of the episodes are truly some of the best Batman media out there. There's one episode where Batman joins up with Thomas and Martha Wayne (voiced by Adam West and Julie Newmar)... I just can't say enough about it. Plus it'll prime you for for some regulars in Justice League.
Thank you for the video Meg! :)
There seem to be quite a lot of shows that came after the 90-2000s classics. But after batman season 3 and superman, should probably do batman beyond and justice league in tandem
She’s going to do something like that
Hi Meg hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Truth Serum itself doesn't exist but there are drugs that can make people "talk" i.e. not torture but through delusion and relaxation . But it only lasts for a very short time
Now you can react to the World Finest crossover in Superman Tas.
Allright!! The Adventures of Batman and Robin is now finished. An incredible series, without a doubt. Now you can move on to The New Batman Adventures and continue with the Superman The Animated Series. TNBA may seem strange at first, but it's good too.
"Is there a truth serum, for real?"
Not a universal one (and a lot depends on the personal strength of the person to be drugged); but we can generally say there are some drugs that lead you to a docile mind state that could, potentially, make you willing to share secrets (alcohol can be a truth serum for a person that can't hold its liquor and feels already inclined to talk).
Aside from the short effective time periods of the soes, some drugs, badly applied, create fake memories or make the person share the wrong information (that's why it's not universal; the interrogator needs to know how to dig for the desired information and recognize that what's being delivered is useful and not a fever dream).
"You could have used a syringe!"
Actually that delivery system of substances through guns exists and it was used to speed up some process like vaccination (later dropped due to several drawbacks :P). The device is a jet injector; the gun shoots the substance at such high pressure it easily goes through the skin without the need of syringes. In cases like forced interrogation, fighting the syringe could lead to a poor injection of the substance, damages to the syringe (rendering the injection useless in both cases) or skin injuries. Needless to say the method looks cool, though.
"The lion and the unicorn..."
It's also interesting this is a real poem/nursery ryhme; both animals being herladic symbols (that appear in the Coat of Arms of Canada, by the way); the poem dating back to a power struggle between England (the lion) and Scotland (the unicorn): "The lion and the unicorn/were fighting for the crown./ The lion beat the unicorn/All around the town..."
Nice reaction, see you in the next one.
hi Meg
That’s a good question honestly 😂but Bruce probably knows how to evade those governments when crossing borders & if you fly low enough they can’t detect you & I wonder if there’s comics on Alfred’s younger years
you may like to look in to Pennyworth, or Gotham also James Bon, Kim Possible, Get Smart,
The Avengers (1998 film), Mission Impossible and The Man from Uncle
if you want more epic Alfred check out Pennyworth and Gotham..Alfred in Pennyworth has been confirmed to be the in universe canon backstory of the Gotham Alfred
There is a live-action series called "Pennyworth" from the same guys who created the "Gotham" show. I have seen all of Gotham, but only a few episodes of Pennyworth. Gotham was kind of...a soap opera on drugs, for lack of a better description. It was fun to watch and had great casting and production design, but the writing was all over the place. Pennyworth, from what I've seen of it, is pretty bonkers in its own way. It's an origin story for Alfred, but it's not based on anything in particular that I'm aware of; it's just the writers doing whatever they want, as far as I can tell. It's hard to say whether I'd recommend either of those shows or not, but...they exist, and both feature Alfred to different extents and imagine the time before Batman. Do with that what you will. Of the two, Gotham is definitely the more well known show. Pennyworth kind of flew under the radar.
Oh man I have watched all of pennyworth without watching Gotham and it's true the show seems pretty bonkers and it might be so but the drama and the character interactions all of it is so worth watching , sometimes it goes off the rails in terms of the story and i consider that as humor but the acting and setting of show is incredible, I was so unhappy when I heard it wasn't getting picked up for fourth season
@@aasthathakur8628 You know what? That made me curious to get back to watching the show. Perhaps after catching up on a couple of other things. Or if I need a break from other things.
I thiiiiiink you're caught up with Superman: The Animated Series now? so you shouldn't be surprised by any crossover elements that show up on Superman's later seasons
7:06 You serious? Needles is one the things you can NEVER have in a kids show, I'm pretty sure not even today. Look up that pic by Bruce Timm of nine taboos in this and just kids cartoons overall.
Wait really? What's the deal with needles
Of course Alfred is epic because he is the best supported character in DC.
I thought Alfred was a pilot for british royal navy?
6:52 I think there is a variation
There are now 2 episodes left I think: Make them laugh y Batgirl returns
😎
10:03 Wow, that’s remarkable. Sounds like you’ll need to brush up on 007 films soon!
It's still Batman: The Animated Series, but they changed the intro & name because they wanted to include Robin more & I think it was also because of marketing thing, I don't know, maybe someone else can explain it better.
The New Batman Adventures is actually the 4th season I believe, but not only did they change the names, but there were new sidekick characters & new re-designs on the characters.
Some of them looked either good or better, but many did not look good at all.
Yeah Catwoman has black short hair and is a lot smaller To name one change.
@@jamesstutz6907 And it looks like she's used too much white make-up around the mouth era. Like what?! Why?!
Check out Pennyworth tv show based on Alfred
You should react to The Batman movie
Alfred gets so little focus on this show, so it’s a great relief to see him be the main attraction in this episode. Alfred has such a rich history before becoming the Waynes’ trusted keeper. You really can do a whole series worth of material (such as the series Pennyworth). He’s that compelling and multilayered a character. My one gripe for this episode is that they went with such a lame villain. Red Claw sounds awesome in concept, but the show never figured out a way to make her more than a one-note antagonist. She’s just not interesting enough to hold a candle to the rest of Batman’s enemies. It’s no surprise to me she was hardly utilized in the comics after debuting in BtAS.
Ok, so I looked it up, and this episode is the last episode from season 2 to air before the show technically ended. Of course, it was revived for the third season, which is officially called The New Batman Adventures. Prepare to be blown away by some of the redesigns and changes to the status quo!
i think all the james bond there are good. this was good one show how good Alfred
: )
She's completely right 7:28 though
Hi Meg, you asked if the Offical Secrets Act is a real thing? It is, and there are very harsh penilties for breaking it. Every member of the British Armed Forces and British intelligence is held accountable by it.
