21' if you use a drill it will be faster. The reason i got the Volant kit is that you don't need to mess around with oil on the filter. " NO OIL " no mess in the box or anything else. use the "Powercore Filter". 100,000 mile filter. It may cost a little more but worth it. And it has the best hp. gain of all aftermarket intakes. Tested on you tube. You will have to reset your air flow sensor by leaving it off and starting your engine. And let your engine light come on. Shut off engine and reset it with OBD2 car reader and hook your O2 sensor back up. This helps your engine to learn there is something new in your engine. Good luck.
I love it, it still performs great, and if you ever need to recharge the filter, any recharge kit will work, I use a K&N recharge kit, and it works just fine.
@@graysonsgarage5157 I just put a Volant on my truck this morning and I too am impressed! Awesome throttle response, has brought some life back to my truck! I ended up going for the dry filter, as I got a great price on a kit that had it. (Like $277 including tax and free shipping) Thanks again for this great video and replying to my earlier question. You definitely sold me on it!
I have and had the power core 2 set up on my 2002 Tahoe 4x4 with 5.3L flex (vin#Z) and just installing my 2nd one. As the previous owner didnt keep it clean. And was damaged. Ran at least 100k miles on the last one. So yeah I pulled the trigger on another. Definitely wakes em up.
It breathes better and easier than stock. Also the power core 2 filter is good for over 100k miles. Im just installing my 2nd new one as I'm at 236k miles and drove well over 100k on the first. Its noticeably better.
The Y pipe is what defeats the purpose of putting dual exhaust on your vehicle. Putting all the exhaust into one pipe and then splitting it to look like duals does nothing. Get rid of the Y pipe and put true duals on it.
The rubber piece broke after a few years from engine torquing. No idea how that happened. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway I purchased a specter accordion style 4" rubber coupler and fixed that. Btw I LOVE the sound of this box. Installed around October 19, 2015. Edit: All else is good, wondering about a new air filter.
Did you get any check engine lights with it on?

Which o2 sensor would you unplug?
"Feels more throatier" lol I like it
Why does it seem most restricted than a regular CAI? The cover on the box seems to defeat the purpose??
Cause without the cover, it's basically sucking in hot engine heat decreasing its efficiency.
Have you purchased the cold air scoop?
I have not.
I would. That will be the coldest dense air that is going to produce power. My truck is low so I'm afraid it'll suck in water and hydrolock my engine.
So wait, obvious and dumb question. An intake and a catback exaust will increse fuel efficiency?
Three years later, are you still happy with the Volant? Thinking about getting one for my 2000 Silverado.

Volant CAÍ are awesome and they support the military community big time!!!!!
Did you happen to install the lower snorkel for this type of intake
I haven't
@@graysonsgarage5157 you think it would benefit it more with it
@@civicekcoupe Possibly, I'm mostly concerned for fog light clearance, that's why I haven't installed one on mine yet.
@@graysonsgarage5157 I have it on mine and it mounts where the tow hook goes and not the fog light. Makes a huge difference as well.
Hey man how long did take you to receive your Volant cold air intake cause I ordered mine over a month ago and still haven’t received it.
Took me about 3 weeks to get mine in.
Nice ! I got the same one in my truck and I was thinking of taking of the cover on top , what do you think?
@@bernardoaguilar3125 thanks for bro 😎
How much gain of volant air intake?
Probably up to 15-20hp with the power core 2
what does that intake serve
Allowing more air into the engine and changing the torque curve for better efficiency compared to stock.

You have to have it tuned an then you'll see an improvement
I know, but for the time being, all this really changes is the torque curve.
@@Eltakuachecuh Diablo tune you can buy and plug in also you can get a custom tune bring it to a shop
The faster you get there the more u save
What is throty
Any other suggestions for the tune? I have the power core 2 w/o the scoop as of now. Also have flowmasters muffler and possibly converters.
a catback doesnt improve performance tho. if it does it wouldnt be noticable
But efficiency is what I really bought it for.
What about high flow converters

Mine broke as well. The ring on the filter itself. Found my filter disconnected. But I knew about it and couldn't get it replaced until today.
