Great video, this cold air system looks like it is better engineered than the rest, the issue I had with my afe cai is that when going off road the motor moves a lot and their kit has such minimum movement built into it with such short silicon boots, this one looks like it allows for more movement, although I’d still like to see more flex in the silicon boots like the factory air system.
@@myquickjab2098I had one on my 2018 and no lights came on. Just have to make sure you unhook your battery, and install the air flow sensor before hooking the battery back up.
Would it be the same/similar type of install on a 14’ 2500hd I just bought one that fit my vehicle but I literally cannot find a single install vid f this is the part number VNT-15560 if you could help it would be appreciated
What am I missing? It’s just put in a box? What’s making it cold air? It’s more restricted air now in a box then I was with the heat shroud around it like the typhoon set up with K&N.
The enclosed box seems to keep the filter cleaner at least in my experience owning a Volant. It is only pulling air from outside the wheel well instead of it being open in the engine bay sucking hot air, that’s why it is enclosed. It is definitely better than the stock air intake and worth the money in my opinion. Especially if you have an exhaust system it makes it have a deeper tone, not to mention the truck seems more responsive and gets up and goes just a tad bit better.
My past experiences volant makes the best intake quality is great and isn't over priced in my option like k@n only thing I do differently is I use volants dry filter
@@geezyxivMakes it run better, smoother if anything. Makes exhaust sound deeper and honestly I noticed a slight increase in MPG’s with it while using cruise control
Does this intake set-up run with or without a tune? I've read many things on different forums. Some people say intakes are useless without a tune while others say the latter.
You could do either but would recommend a tune. I did the air intake and a superchips tune a few weeks later...tune made it better for sure but lots to consider
dyno tests show +20 ft lbs of tq and +10 hp gain on a 6.2. there is a pretty cool test that black bear performance did with a bunch of intakes for these trucks. blackbearperformance.com/IntakeTestResults_2016.asp

JUST GOT MINE YESTERDAY BERLY GOING TO INSTALL IT 👌🏽
Thank you so much for your video!! It helped me install on my 2018 GMC Sierra!
How was it after 2 years ?, i ordered the same, any pros or cons ?
Interesting before and after comparison. Dry filters are the only way to go IMO.
Agreed!!
@@AaronHinesAuto did this cause your engine light to come on

I just bought one and i only had one rubber connector boot
would you recommend a power core for a 2011 4.8 crew cab Silverado?
does this affect anything computer wise? does it need a tune or just plug and play
Plug & Play
I guess u can use zip ties on vacuum hoses instead of hose clamps
Thank you.
Thanks man I getting this
Hey man how long did it take you to receive your Volant cold air intake cause I order my over a month ago and still haven’t received it.
Same here..it's going on a month long wait for me now
It’s when they keep pushing your time frame back and your just shaking your head and your like keep your word.
Took mine 3 days

Did this kit cause your engine light to come on ?
No, 2015 Silverado 5.3 no light from same setup
@@davidv3348 thinking of installing one on the same year of truck does yours still run good ? any changes that you’ve experienced with it ?

Answer the questions !!!
What if you have a catch can setup 😩
Why is your catch can on the left side? You can use both they don't interfere with each other.
Nice job ! What kind of power and sound do you get with this?

Should have gone with a Banks. Kind of wasted your money.
Why u say that...what is better with Banks?
