  • Improve the power and performance of your 1999-2006 5.3L V8 Silverado with a RedRock 4x4 Cold Air Intake. By replacing your Silverado's restrictive factory intake with a high flow filter assembly, you will see and feel a noticeable increase in rear wheel horsepower and torque. This RedRock 4x4 Intake not only improves airflow for an increase in power, but it will also add a show-winning appearance to the engine bay with its brightly-polished aluminum intake tube.
    No Tune Required. RedRock 4x4 engineered its Cold Air Intake to improve the performance of your V8 Silverado without the need of reprogramming your computer. By utilizing flow dynamics, this Intake will increase power using the original factory tune. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanTrucks recommends a custom tune to reprogram the vehicle's computer (ECU) to get the best possible performance from this Cold Air Intake.
    Reusable Air Filter. The included high flow air filter effectively filters out power robbing particles with its multi-layer design. The specially-treated media creates a sticky surface to capture microscopic contaminants before they can enter your Silverado's engine and do harm. Seeing that the filter is reusable, there is no need to buy a new filter every few thousand miles. You can just clean the filter, re-oil it, and reinstall - saving yourself money in the long haul.
    Simple Bolt-on Installation. RedRock 4x4 designed its Cold Air Intake kit to be a direct bolt-on replacement. With no special tools or extra modifications required, installation can be completed in under an hour. All parts and detailed instructions are included.
    Not CARB Certified. This RedRock 4x4 Cold Air Intake is not CARB certified, therefore it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; not intended for highway use.
    Application. This RedRock 4x4 Polished Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed to fit the 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine. amtrucks.at/3H...

    Hey, good news. At least I'm not the only one who took the bottom plate off and just placed the heat shield on lol

    Those cold air intakes provide less airflow than others it’s better to get a K&N intakes designed and curved for the best airflow for overall more torque and horse power and the metal ones get hotter than the thick plastic ones causing the air to be hotter but I recommend those on diesel engines

    How 'bout a video showing a before and after of washing the air cleaner? My experience cleaning oil soaked dirt usually takes a soft brush of some sort. But the scrubbing destroys the 'element'!! How do YOU CLEAN ONE? I've used these 'washable' ones for decades but they die.

    What about the maf sensor. The oil jacks them up

      You won't get oil on the MAF Sensor if you don't over-oil your filter after cleaning. 😁 Just let the filter dry all the way before re-installing and you'll be just fine. -Zach

    You would be better off getting a plastic intake tube from Airaid for $160 and leaving the stock air box with the drop in K&N filter.
    That metal tube you installed plus the open cone filter are just going to absorb the heat and suck in the hot air from the engine bay.

    • @ILLINIVIKE84
      @ILLINIVIKE84 Рік тому

      Not true actually, the heat shield is designed to block out the engine bay heat and it’s all open below the filter so cool air flows in.

      @@ILLINIVIKE84you missed his point man. The aluminum air pipe is going to suck in heat from the engine bay which will heat up the air flowing into the intake

      no youre not, mine is falling off every time i drive to or from work 6 miles away.
      i stippled the plastic part and put a screw through it ( not puncturing the interior plastic) and the thing is still falling off. literally pulled the screw out.
