My closed deck 2.7L stroker block with 625 head studs appreciates your 6466 comments 👍 I was on the fence about it, but now I know 😉 BB or JB is the question now.
Hi steve lots of good info. Keep it up! What is your take on coil packs. How good is oem and power levels?. I haven see so upgraded ones and now gtr cop upgrades. Is the big spark really worth it tuning wise/ making power? You can do a video on it as well
I just watched his video of Black Widow making 1085whp on the stock coils. When they tried for more, they said the coil packs didn't want to cooperate.
I used to make my own trap doors in the oil pan back before they were available for the Subaru engines but I made a few things to try to help with oil control on my old road course car I tried fabricating pan baffles and even a crank skimmer like we used for the old v8 course engines but that didn't seem to work for me atleast but windage tray and trap doors or one way flaps are a absolute minimum for a car that will see any sort of lateral g's even autoX events can get enough force in the turns to pull the oil away from the pickup but now it seems like they have many options available to buy to help with this... but ive not used any of them so I would have to do my research on them...
I agree with the ej20 thing...heads and valve train are super important to make good power with them.... I'm one of the strange ones that like the 2.0 engine but the 2.5 is a much better option for most people especially when it's a street car I'm just an old dude that is old school I guess lol Ps also proper exhaust manifolds design and good heat control are both very important to help with the spool but I have built many ej20's with gt35r turbos and especially with a twin scroll setup makes it a decently fast spooling system. In my experience anyway
Dang man sorry I missed this! youtube never notifies me when good stuff comes up. Hahaha that definitely is a horrible job. Even putting a belt on it is awful. i did a complete fuel system on a 18 superduty man talk about a pile of stuff to remove funny they put the exhaust and intake manifold on the top of engine together. When installing fuel pump timing gear trust me you dont want to drop that nut holding the gear on. And Love the honesty in all the content keep up the great work man.
Question on idle AFR on my 2020 STI that is E85, ID2600s, 50psi base FP, PT6870, 5 bar, BC280s with AVCS, and all OL fueling. My AFR seems to float a good bit. It'll be steady at 14.5-14.9 then drop into the 12s and then up to the 15s. I know that the ID2600s with a stock ECU are hard to control but wondering if this is hard on the car to idle like this, once on throttle it stays on target for AFR. I've checked for boost leaks and smoke checked, no issues that I can find. Just had the injectors cleaned, had to replace 3 to get them flow matched again.
Its very difficult to have the proper pulse for those injectors. My 2000cc struggled. Because they spray so much, you need so little pulse time. They can't shut off fast enough.
My tuner recommended me to stay stock location with one but I have all the supporting mods such injectors, fuel pump, and block to support big power. What would you say I may see out of a 3582 kit from them?
👏🏾 love watching your content, I’m glad you’re getting back to uploading once again

I can’t believe I missed this!! I had so many questions for you 😓

Steve you ever think about making a discord?
Dude I need you help chasing a overboosting problem on a stock setup
What signal is the 2006 STi ECU looking for from the tgv's, I'm wondering if I can just wire in a raspberry pi to just relay signal back to the ECU.
Yes
Any experience with ATP turbo kits?
Yes I use to do them often but the results were sub par from compared to blouch , Garrett, PTE

Damm I missed this! Do you have cam recommendation if going a 6466 on a ej25?
Bc280 goes well for the street
