My 85 rx turbo sedan had the jdm 08 wrx 5 speed drop in with the factory mounts from 08 with 1 hole on each side of the back trans mounts drilled out to fit easier. But the motor bolted right up. Very impressive they didn’t change much over the span of 30 years.

Ps the older subarus to fit require at least a 1/2 spacer between the sub Fram and trans mounts for better fitment. It was the only way in my car

i have a p2440 code (secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open bank 1) on my 08 sti. would this fix that?

L92 also has dished pistons for less compression, versus flat tops on the LS3. LS3 uses lighter hollow stem valves, while L92 uses solid inconel valves, which are more durable imo. Otherwise blocks are identical.

Old video, I know, but with regards to engine builders' proprietary numbers: I would NEVER buy an engine from anyone who refused to provide me with a printed out documentation of exactly what they set all the clearances to (not a range).

You should make a video on how you degree camshafts/utilize adjustable gears. There are no quality videos out there.

In the case of it clouding over time, I wonder if using high temperature rated ceramic coating would help prevent it. Also, if your budget allows, Swaintech or Headershield are both the way to go over DEI header wrap that will just frail over time many heat cycles at the track.

I got a set of single AVCS clear covers. I can’t remember if I got any metal sleeves 😮

That's a bummer. There's a company called "Heatshield Products" it's not as DIY friendly. It has a fiber insulation with a metal covering. It can be secured with wire wrap, metal zipties, or by tig welding. It's a similar product to what is used in formula drift and rally. It has no way of absorbing liquid

That is insane that someone would go a couple thousand miles without popping their hood. I visually inspect under the hood and check the dipstick/coolant before turning her on to go for a drive.
