- Part 3 of our 300 mile test ride compares this Scram with my standard Himalayan. We'll look at one bikes best features one the other and talk about why a person should buy one over the other. Wahoo!

Bikedekho article said RE releasing a Scram 440 derived from the 411cc engine so probably got a more aggressive can or bigger pistons etc to go head to head with Harley Davidson X440 but HD have 3 bikes the X350 X440 & X500.Also Top Speed article said HD bringing out a Nightster 440 single they reckon.
A 440 Scram Double Wahoo.
Friend of mine put the big bore kit and a cam in his Himalayan. Boy did it make a difference. Hope to see this 440 but wonder how it will share the market with that new 450? Love the RE's
@@forgottenmotorcycles 450 will be marketed to more Adv crowd for long weekend & longer trips & be similar power & torque to KTM 40HP & 44Nm being water-cooled.Scram 440 will be marketed for the commuter & odd Gravel road exploring.
Reverlry Motorcycles from Australia is sending parts to Baxter's & to Hitchcock's now like their 40mm throttle bodies for RE 650's.
Interesting, looks like just a big bore version of the 411 engine. I was thinking about a scram and adding a 477 big bore kit to it but I may just wait and see what this new scram will be like. The article said within the next 12 months or mid 2024.
There is also a 650 scram in the works as well apparently! But this looks more like an adaptation of the Interceptor 650, so probably won't have the offroad chops of the himmy or scram platform. Also planned for mid next year. Wahoo!
@@ruahinesrider I read that the Scram 440 will be oil cooled, whereas the Himalayan 450 will be water-cooled.
Centre stand is a std himalayan stand and easily obtained and very easy to fit 😊
Should bolt right up. Wahoo!
Could you put a 21 wheel on a scram? I'm interested in the himalayan but I'm planning on taking the front rack off and a lot of other weight saving mods but I just end up with a Scram 411 with a big front wheel 😂
I'm guessing you could but am not sure. You might want to check out this video. Fellow did what your talking about with an old Himalayan. Bike was much lighter and did handle a lot better too. ua-cam.com/video/2oGvOcrXo5I/v-deo.html
👍
Wahoo
I looked at the scram and biggest negative I saw was the lack of a center stand. I always need the center stand on my Himalayan for maintenance. That's only serious problem to me.
She is a beauty. Had my Himalayan out for a ride earlier.
It is possible to mount a centre stand to the scram, as they do have the same chassis. The other notable difference between them is the headlight mounting. The Himalayan is fixed to the chassis while the scram headlight moves with the forks. I would guess the latter is better in towns where you are going around tight corners, while the fixed mounting may be better off road to keep a steady light, no matter what you are doing with the steering.
@@Bordpie Yes, you can mount the center stand from the standard Himalayan to the Scram 411. I think Baxtercycle.com can get you the parts needed. I know they have talked about making a kit for this.
Can you give us a link for the handlebar risers?
I'm not sure which ones they are. Go to baxtercycle.com see what they have there. If you don't see it give those guys a call and ask for Jeremy. Good people
