    I know this is an older vid, but bless you for this Ryuu! My hard drive crashed and I lost a ton of crap... now reinstalling everything, and it had been a long time since I set up Blender. It's amazing all the little things you forget about, and your video has been a life-saver!! Thanks!!!

    My search is tilde since that's the console for 99% of Videogames so it's easy to remember. I also have the merge menu mapped onto a programmable mouse button. You can probably make default blender faster to work with than hardops if you have enough programmable buttons. ALT+click should be mapped to a single button if you have the mouse for it.

    @Ponte Ryuurui Hay Ponte, how do you have a normal text background in all menu's !!! My text background is in a (kind off (squeezed) triangle shape which are half solid and the top half are transparent. "So annoying." Can you tell me how you set the old background for all the text menu's ? many thanks..

    Some great settings in here, thanks. A couple of questions, though - why not EXR as opposed to the aging TIFF? And on the render settings you turned off denoise saying that FPS would be impacted, but that was render, not viewport. And how does the denoise algorithm on render compare to the compositor algorithm?

    • @PonteRyuurui
      @PonteRyuurui  2 роки тому

      compositor is denoising, exr - i explained in the vid why

    Hi Ryu. I guess somebody asked you about what PC do you have. The thing is I work (not 3d) with Mac's laptop since 2009 but around 6 years ago I got an iClons (it is a brand that build pc hackintosh) and some weeks ago the GPU died. So I was thinking about sell it but I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to get something from the pc I have (I have no idea about PCs).So some weeks ago the GPU died (GFX 980 Ti 6gb?¿). Could you tell me if it is not a problem, what GPU and RAM do you have to work fluently? I remember it has an Intel something Xenon with 6 cores. Just to ask for prices and think about if I'm gonna keep that PC. In that case I'll just use it for blender. Thanks

    • @PonteRyuurui
      @PonteRyuurui  2 роки тому

      I have zero idea about Macs, but 6yo PC wont sell for much. As long as you can run Blender you should be fine, i d not go below 6- 8gb of v ram, and 16gb of ram for sure. All depends on your budget.

    This is very, very helpful.
    When you say you have many versions of blender installed, do you mean running from an unzipped download, or actually installed via .msi?
    I was under the impression that you couldn't actually install (via .msi) more than one blender version at a time. Or does that just apply to variations of the same main version, like say wanting to install 3.0.1, 3.1.2, and 3.2.0 all at the same time?
    Also, is there actually any point to fully installing blender in the first place, since it seems to run so well from an unzipped download?

    • @PonteRyuurui
      @PonteRyuurui  2 роки тому +1

      both, alphas and betas come in folders, but release versions come as msi, so you can have mutiples of either

    Is Optix denoise really THAT bad?
    Also 13:56 - the reason it's set to the "retarded" 4096 sampling by default is because the new way of controlling sample quality is by using noise threshold. You leave samples high and let NT decide which areas need more work. 250 samples is way too low for final render.

    • @PonteRyuurui
      @PonteRyuurui  2 роки тому

      no it isnt, it works fine, i am rendering in 3.2 and above and my renders come out in seconds. that is why i use compoisitor, it's faster.
