Let me give y'all an absolute gem. Around 2k *Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon - 2002-2006* Comes with either a 143HP 2.0 or a 167HP V6. V6 might be hard to find in manual though. I personally went for the 2.0, and mine's from 2006. It runs way cheaper than the V6 and it doesn't change much in performance (and I really wanted a manual). Lovely car, never really had serious issues at all. If you get the right model, it comes with full leather interior, heated seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, sunroof that opens up, automatically dimming interior mirror, adjustable lower back support and a lil space for sunglasses near ur interior mirror. The car drives absolutely lovely and does 0-60 in 8.75 ish. Top speed about 230 km/h or 143mph. Mileage is also very decent IMO. When I drive it economically I get up to 32MPG or 1:13.7km. The cruise control of course helps a lot, I use it so damn much, and it works perfectly and is just lovely to use. The boot is very big and fits a shit ton of stuff. When you fold the rear seats down it is quite insane how much space there is. I've even slept in there (I'm a big guy fyi). Only things I've had to replace were two brake calipers in the 50.000km I've put on it, which I did myself and cost like 200 bucks with new pads. Oh and it uses very little oil. And the best part might be the amazing sound it makes with an aftermarket exhaust. Like unironically one of the best sounding 4 cylinder cars I've heard, and many people that hear it agree with me. It's a very low and bass heavy sound, actually lovely. If you're more into the high pitch noises, then you'll probably disagree, but I love bass heavy and low sounds. I think the only downside is the little amount of space you have in the rear seats, but I often have 4 people in the car anyway if it's needed, and at least it's an option, though not a good one lol. Things I recommend: - The car comes with a horrendous and humongous extending antenna. Get a smaller one or remove it completely. I personally pushed mine inside and disconnected it, that way it's gone, and waterproof still. - Get one with dark headlights. You'll see when you look them up, some come with light headlights and some with dark. The dark ones just look so much better. - The base rims are kinda dead, get some new ones, it makes the car look so much better. Leave a comment if you have questions or want to hear the sound lol. I'll add you on snapchat or Instagram or something and send a clip or two. This was my essay, I just can't recommend this car enough. Cheers.
@@ollijokinen1571 Except not, cause the looks alone are 30× better. The rear of the Toyota is so fucking ugly lol, it literally gets memed. The rear of the Coupe is literally stunning, amazing lines and design. And, the Toyotas for sale generally have crazy crazy mileage, but still cost over twice the price of the Coupe, cause so many more people know about the Celica. Not to mention the interior of the Celica also looks a lot less clean and modern. And... heated seats, sunroof, adjustable lumbar support in the seats, child seat anker points, better sound, more uncommon etc. etc. The only positive for the Toyota is that it has slightly better specs for performance, but there's not much in it. I've raced a couple of them, it's almost the same. If you get the V6 Coupe (still cheaper than the Toyota) then you're even a little faster than the Celica. Overall the Coupe is the way more complete car, with more options and way better looks, and all of that for like a third of the price
@@_-Anthony-_ I think looks should be left out of the question because its all subjective in the end. Both look fine to me tho. I do consume fairly much automotive content but I've never seen or heard people calling the 7th gen Celica's rear ugly. I really can't figure out whats wrong with it tho? The proportions seem fine to me. Sure looks a little old but all 20+ year old cars do. You mentioned that the Celicas have high mileage and cost a lot but thats the case for a lot of old Toyotas at least where I live. People know how damn durable they are which shows on the resale value of them. The fact that there are a bunch of 250 000km, 300 000km+ Celicas for sale is a testament to the reliability. And I'm not saying the Hyundai isnt reliable. After all, most cars can be reliable if you don't neglect basic maintenance. But the Japanese really take pride to their work and craftsmanship which really shows. Toyota's and Honda's are always praised for their reliability. And performance wise as you said the Celica has the upper hand. Not by much but still. The power is about the same for the less powerful models (140~) but the Celica is slightly quicker to 100km/h. It's fuel consumption is also slightly lower which is a nice thing with current awful fuel prices. The 190hp/T-Sport/SS-II model on the other hand has a more significant performance edge over the V6 Coupe but it is more expensive. Also, insurance and tax wise the Celica was actually quite significantly cheaper to me mainly due to lower Co2 emissions. Of course all that stuff varies depending on where you live. Now options wise I'l admit the Coupe may indeed be better but it's newer after all. Personally coming from a 30+ year old Corolla to my Celica, it almost feels rich on options haha. I even have power steering which I didn't have before lmao. So all in all, the Celica just seems like the better car to me performance, reliability and economy wise.
Dear Matt. Look could be deceptive. Except ,those cars have.□ A written cost estimation warranty by warranty wise recommendation. □ Those cars are sold by your trusted dealers, stating the cost of repair, repaired, and or cost of mileage guarantee after purchased.🙏
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't lift up the boot floor and have a poke around on an E46. Sure, if it's clearly ****Ed then run a mile but that's NOT where the problem is. It's the rear axel carrier panel, aka, the RACP. This is UNDER the car and the point where the rear diff bolts to the vehicle. You will be lucky if you can see a crack as that's another walk away moment. The truth is, the cracks will be well hidden by the whole rear subframe and 20 years of dirt. The short answe is, they're all cracked to some degree. If you can see it it's worse than most.
M4 is quite cheap for what it gives you. I have never driven it, but something has been driving the price down. I think they look fabulous, engines seems quote reliable, lots of power, tuning potential, LSD, lots of gadgets so can be a good daily.

Why are all the big channels turning into this cheap content and hardly doing car reviews or driving others' cars anyone? Doughnut media has gone the same route. I remember when a car channel had to make quality content but now they are making cheap easy-to-make content. A British car reviewer covered this topic saying it's too much hard work for the numbers, so he just reacts to the videos now instead and is quitting altogether driving modified cars. So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!!!!
The FN2 type R is probably a better bet than the EP3 nowadays but both great cars and engines can last and take a regular thrashing
Mat Watson should start his own company as he's basically why everyone watches this channel
Nice job 👌 thanx! 👍
Mat can you review a new Bugatti Bolide?
That’s like asking a real estate agent to review the White House
@@jussidjachenko9483 except this real estate agent already reviewed the pentagon, so it's more feasable
Nope
Mat pliz review the 300 series
Really good video Matt
Thanks nephew Mat for sharing this.
Also. If you get an auto mk5 r32, that is one of the earlier dsg’s and they tend to get very clunky over time, so just be aware.
Absolutely bonkers recommendations Mat.
Matt didnt include Alfa Romeo 8C.
I hate those celica gt4 rims ..what were they thinking putting those on.
Or rusty Jaguar XJR X308 with 385hp supercharged V8 for under £2k. About the RX8 - you guys can't be serious recommending that car.
Anyone recommending a second hand BMW has NO IDEA what they are talking about. DO NOT GO NEAR A USED BMW!!
Let me give y'all an absolute gem. Around 2k
*Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon - 2002-2006*
Comes with either a 143HP 2.0 or a 167HP V6.
Things I recommend:
- The car comes with a horrendous and humongous extending antenna.
Cheers.
The Hyundai Coupe is a decent car sure. I even considered one but honestly, its just a worse version of the 7th gen Toyota Celica lol
I wonder if carwow makes more money from Matts videos that buying/selling cars :D
All those cars are insane and impressed me a lot!
Carwow didnt add 110S.
Insane 💤
Huh.. I didn't remember the pre-facelift w212 coming with the 5.5 biturbo.
Those cars are SO much more expensive in Canada, like these prices are shockingly low!
1:27 lmao mine doesnt have the star on the engine either, what's up with that?!
I was looking at that exact e63 last night wondering what issues it might have. Thanks carwow!
Good video! RenaultSport Clio 200 from circa 2010 should be in there though. Even though the Civic Type R is good.
The intro lines.. 🤣👌🏼
I had 5 z4's
One of the best cars on the market
I had 3 e85 and 2 e89
Nice video!
I’m appalled that the N54/N55 335i E9X wasn’t mentioned but a Ford was🥺🥺
Cheap to buy.....the maintenance and repair costs will bankrupt you.
M4 is quite cheap for what it gives you. I have never driven it, but something has been driving the price down. I think they look fabulous, engines seems quote reliable, lots of power, tuning potential, LSD, lots of gadgets so can be a good daily.
BMW M3 and Celica GTFOUR all variants are also cheap yet powerful.
I believe that a Porsche Boxster could and should be featured in list of 15 cars.
Also,
Ford Focus ST, Renault Clio RenaultSport, Renault Megane RenaultSport, etc
Most of the 15 cars featured drink far to much fuel for my liking.
Seems like one of those videos Mat made just so he can add it to his playlist on youtube for which cars to buy next
The CLS is probably the best here
I wish we would have the same Prices for pre owned Cars here in Germany... :(
these sorts of videos are great because they bring attention to cars that arent normally thought about. the celica gt4 as an example wouldnt be considered by most younger people because toyota stopped making cool cars in the early 00s.
My main filter is before the year 2000 when looking for a car
@@jcc3494 Altezza RS200 and Lexus IS appear crying.
@@jcc3494 a dream car of mine is a mk3 supra or a mitsubishi gto. out of all the jdm legends those two are the most attainable. the gto is an amazing car but the computer systems can be a disaster if somehting goes wrong. the supra mk3 is probably the best bet for me because of that.
@@15DEAN1995 my bro got his 3 years ago supra 21k....now 32k TT
@@blademanx as far as ive seen some of the old mk3 supra are around 10 to 30k in value depending on condition. mk4 supras are completely out of the question in 2 or 3 years theyre probably gonna be minimum 40k for a rough tt manual. i wouldnt be surprised if automatic mk4 supras approached 35k.
992 Turbo S and Tesla plaid real bargain in performance
You missed the fastest absolute bargain sports / performance car.
The Audi TTS, 6-8k gets you an AWD car that does 0-60 in 5.2s standard or 4.4s with a standard remap.
Why pay 17k for something like a Golf R or an S3 when for half the price you can get something that handles and looks way better!
What an excellent video! 🤩
That cls will truly rob you from your money.
Always wanted an EP3 Type R. Looked at dozens of them, and every one in my price range was an absolute shed.
Ive got a mint one going up for sale very soon. Mines a premier Edition also.
here's a list of cars to bankrupt you and break your heart
Intro had me laughing!
Those sellers will be now wondering why all the many new messages are coming from 😅👍 Thought they are really nice finds! Nicely done.
Those old CLS were so well designed. Don’t look like a nearly 20 year old car
Looks outdated lol
@@mk3tsi it's 20, of course it does. But it still looks excellent for the period, fresher looking than pretty anything from that period.
What ? No Saab 9-5 Aero? Under £3000 easily.
Whatever, this video proves once again that you have to be mad to buy a new car today. Prices of second hand cars are crazy in the UK, which is why I’ll never buy a « voiture d’occasion » in France where I live, even if since Brexit (🤬) we do get stung for customs duty and VAT on UK imports
Edit the rear number plate on the Z4 😁👌
Why are all the big channels turning into this cheap content and hardly doing car reviews or driving others' cars anyone? Doughnut media has gone the same route.
I remember when a car channel had to make quality content but now they are making cheap easy-to-make content.
A British car reviewer covered this topic saying it's too much hard work for the numbers, so he just reacts to the videos now instead and is quitting altogether driving modified cars.
Sadly, multiple creators are going this way. I remember creates said I would rather make your quality videos instead of making fast, easy content. But here we are with him doing exactly that
Funny how those 3 convertibles are all sub 6 secs 0-60 but the price are quite a bit different
I'm glad to see the gt4 on here but I think an aristo would have been good for the video. 2jz engine under 10k
Mr Watson will you please review the fiesta st, I'm looking to buy a used 2013-2015 models
TLDR: the bargains exist because most of the cars have a bad reputation (and most likely, well deserved).
good video, thank you
I feel so sad hearing the new prices of any of the cars on this list and comparing with what you can buy today for the same price. Many of you will say that new cars today have a lot more options, but I want you to know that most of it are electronics and after a few years most of them stop working or are obsolete
Mat, I always enjoy your unbiased entertaining content -- until my own 2-years-from-new car is in the shop longer than expected, and THEY don't even know what the problem is after 72 hours, then all I hear is blablablablablablah. Keep up the great work!
Vauxhall speedster/ or Gt should be on your list dude !
The RX8 you showed pictures of is the low HP version with 190hp not 230. You can tell as it doesn't have the headlight washers.
