Amazing video but I have an issue. When I try a 3 display setup my main screen is recognized as a second screen. But in meta quest room the same is recognized as the main screen.
What's cool is the independent refresh rate, i have 3 screens, 1080p, 2k 144hz and 4k 60hz, i never used the 4k for playing games but with VD, the refresh rate is higher than the hardware max specs so it's a win win. It also supports hdr mode 😊
With the kind of work I'm doing on a daily basis using a dual-monitor, this would be so much more convenient for me. I mean, what a nice ability to have with VR. I am definitely going to get this VR headset. Not only will you save electricity, but also the work of setting up a physical monitor. And on top of that, potentially saving lots of money, since you won't have to buy a new monitor. This is perfect! Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks a lot man. I was debating between the meta quest and xr glasses but your videos convinced me to invest on the quest 3. Youve gain a followers!!! Does the mouse and keyboard work when they're still connected on the computer usind remote desktop?
@NicholasDheo I literally made a video on the 3S a couple days ago haha. The 3 is definitely a bit sharper because of the pancake lens and higher res displays.
Hello, I wonder if i can use the VD to play some streaming services like Netflix or Disney+? cus some app may end up in a black screen. Thank you very much!!
Once they add more then 3 (like 10 or so) then i'll buy VD. for now airlink works great and i can put both my real monitors around me and besides that i can open unlimited program windows until the pc cant handle it anymore.
Hey there. Any tips for getting your pc's keyboard and mouse to work and be visible when in VD? I like to sit at my desk but have access to the 3 big screens in VR. The problem is that my pc mouse stops working and I cannot see the cursor or the mouse and keyboard itself on the desk. Thanks
so the content of the virtual monitors are shown in the real screen or screens of your pc? I would like to use it to work privately and sent messages without anyone anoyying me
Immersed was the first one to support multiple monitors, but since VD implemented support, Immersed kind of lost its juice for now (my opinion). Immersed does have some other features that can be cool, I have made another video where I showcase this.
Do you have to have another monitor plugged in to add another monitor in the headset though? I just bought the app and cannot press the "add monitor" function...
@@reality-rise Hmmm, any suggestions as to why mine wouldn't be then? I'm using a Mac with the latest software but my add monitor is still greyed out...
@@meta_junkie i think on mac it only shows multiple physical monitors..adding additional virtual monitors i *think* is only for Windows at least as of now.
@@tapetwo7115 @tapetwo7115 Yeah I figured it out. The additional monitor feature is only available for PC users. Works on my Acer but not my Maccy Pro :/ Oh well, still a very cool app.
if your pc is connected to your network by ethernet, then you use your quest over 5ghz wifi on the same LAN. in some cases it works better than USB/link.
This is what I read on the net: "No. Virtual Desktop (and similar wireless solutions) rely on the quality of the local area network from the PC to router to headset, but is NOT affected by whether your outgoing internet connection is good or bad."
Yes, it is definitely readable. Otherwise, you can always drag the windows closer to your face, hehe. It's, of course, not as good as a monitor, but it definitely gets the job done.
I have been regularly coding in VR since last October, and I have been tweaking settings with amazing results. The biggest thing I have noticed that makes it clear and comfortable is making sure your DPI settings per screen are high. I use 175%-200% for all three 2560x1440 and use ctl + or ctl- to size text per browser or software. Doing this gets rid of anti-aliasing. My text is completely crisp and in focus for me.
@@MrMGR1986 indeed it is fun! I should also include. I use a custom head strap BoboVR M3 to remove pressure from the head by balancing weight, and I remove the face cover to bring the lenses as close to the eyes as possible for a much wider field of view.
I have a Surface Book 2 with 8GB memory and even a discrete GPU. Virtual Desktop runs sluggish af on this thing. Memory is 94+% with more than 1 monitor. I only have a browser open with some tabs, Spotify and the VD agent itself. And I have a WiFi7 router so that's not the issue. 8GB RAM isn't going to cut it. Strange tho that nobody, not even VD themselves, talk about this spec not being sufficient enough. I guess I'm the only one left with a 8GB laptop 😂
Bro please help me. I want to be in BRINK Traveler while also running a Virtual Desktop screen so that I can work from those beautiful environments. Is it possible?

Hi guys cannot add a monitor in virtual desktop. it is grey. Could some one help please ?
What about comparing Virtual Desktop vs Immersed?
You can watch my "Can VR replace my monitors in 2024 video" for that one :)
Hi,
thank you for your vids 🙂. Does the use of multiple monitors influence the performance?
If you render more monitors, it will use up more processing power so in a way yes. You won't notice if your computer is capable enough.
@@reality-rise Thank You 😀

Will this work with an average intel laptop? It doesn't have any ethernet port, so i would only be able to connect via usb or wirelessly.
I was waiting for multiple monitor support and it works great!
Did tehy add additional virtual monitors for Virtual Desktop classic? I use PCVR not quest these days and like to use PCVR for productivity too

I attach it directly to my headset with bluetooth functionality or otherwise just connect it to your computer and use your keyboard/mouse wirelessly
Does it how passthrough for the keyboard and how do you activate it?
You can enable full passthrough in the settings.
Can you make multiple profiles if you have multiple computers?
I think you can switch between profiles yeah.

You need to recalibrate to your standing position but it should be fairly easy.
