great video. really appreciate ! Just one question to understand better: In Quest 3 the Resolution limit is stated with 3840x2160 (single) and 2560x1440 (multi). But somehow, with your Ultrawide setting, you generate 5120 or 7680 monitors. How does this happen to work if you are over the limits ?
Great question! To clarify: Max resolutions: 1x normal monitor=3840x2160 3x monitors=2560x1440 each 1x ultrawide=5120x1440 If you go beyond that, VD will just adapt to the next best resolution (for now)
You mention uploading to YT the settings @11:08. Mind sharing these with us, as well as how to implement them after already installing without your settings?
You're right sorry forgot to add that, just added the google drive to the description, it's just a options.txt file, you can add or remove any custom resolution you want with any HZ just by typing it in the file C:\IddSampleDriver\option.txt
Great video. What is the maximum size you can achieve in terms of inches when using 32:9 desktop? I wish to play on a huge gigantic curved ultrawide that is atleast 105 inch in size and appears across the room. Kinda similar size to when viewing panoramic photos on vision pro.
I cant really get the triple monitor setup to work well. I follow your steps exactly and manage to get the game to use all three monitors, but as soon as I focus on the game, the fps drops like crazy and becomes unplayable. The odd thing is that the fps is normal when the game window is not focused. Do you know any solution?
What kind of FPS are you getting to the headset when doing this? Considering buying an oculus 3 to use for simracing as an ultra wide monitor / triples. Don't like it for VR because it makes me nauseous
Excellent but confused. The monitors appear to be floating in a real room. Is that using passthrough or is it just an effect in post processing. Either way thanks for the tutorial
Hey thanks for the tutorial. is there any settings so that the monitors appear further away after I hold home to snap? When I snap my monitors they always appear almost right in front of my face and I need to manually adjust the distance after that, which beats the purpose of snapping the monitors in the first place.
are there have different with quest 2 and 3 with this program for 3 monitor , and can i use for this to do my programming jobs ,and can we use mouse and keyboard with this
@@LunchAndVR good suggestion, but pretty much impossible. The drivers are all up to date and the PC Consists of an 5800X3D, 4090 and and 64GB DDR5. I'd guess windows is borked - wouldn't be my first time.
Small update for anyone reading: switching to HEVC 10Bit kinda solved it. With AV1 it still crashes. But im only able to add a second monitor, although three should be possible on the Quest 3.
Unfortunately, the monitor is not displayed in the display settings in Windows. I tested it on two systems. My device manager looks exactly like the one in the video - no exclamation mark, everything looks fine. Unfortunately, no monitors appear to be available for selection. Tons of vr vs triple screen vids but only you did what i wanted.
Good job
Big thanks for your tutorial!!! Using virtual Ultrawide monitors in VR is a god send!!!
Thanks! Ultrawide advanced method is great! Now i can play Alien Dark Descent in 5120x1440 80Hz!
Wow i want to try. Playing the same game now. Ok got it pretty cool.
@@avia4281 great! But i think 21:9 is better, because in 32:9 you can't zoom out enough

Occult knowledge 🤣
Thank you very much for the tutorial!
Hello very good tuto, a lot of details, congratulations
Thank you
Hello Thanks a lot for your tutorial i go to test it tonight :)
Thank you very much, your video is a public benefit, thank you very much
That thumbnail is gold :D
Thanks dad
Thanks LunchAndVR I will give that a try
Thanks for the reply LunchAndVR could you possibly do a video showing exactly how to do one of those for us newbies ??
How to use passthrough environment? Just go to the environment tab and press Passthrough
Thank you! How did you find how to do this? Because Virtual Desktop has no guides on their website!

Thanks, Wide Screen worked great. Couldnt get game to run in 3 monitors though. The SRWE app would crash when I click set.
It does that if you key in a very big resolution number, try starting smaller
Problem with method 4 is that you can't extend, say for like Sim Racing... here it just clones the monitor, or did I miss something?...
This was a good guide, however do you or anyone else have tips for latency? I really like this but the latency is the only con for me.
@@dlc5566 unfortunately you need a really good network setup because it does give a lot of latency

Excellent 👍
Great video but how are you able to see your real room with the virtual monitors present?
Turn on passthrough or mixed reality
This is nice

@@LunchAndVR ill try it with quest 3 as soon as i get some free time 😅
Hello! I am wondering whether or not this will work with a pc link cable, to use with your desktop, and games. Thanks!

Should i buy VD on steam or meta app.
What performance is better with Virtual Display Driver for ultrawide compared to the easy method?
Lol, i think i saw something you didnt want us to see at 0:19 .

When I snap my monitors they always appear almost right in front of my face and I need to manually adjust the distance after that, which beats the purpose of snapping the monitors in the first place.
No worries, not yet they are working on a better snapping system so we will have to wait for that
For ultrawide, can it do 3440x1440 or 2560x1080 as well? Looking to try this out when I get a psvr2 and the pc adapter.
You can't use this with PSVR2. This is only for Virtual Desktop.
the framerate doesn't change, video framerate is 60 even when set to 120, infact it feels less than 60
@@EmilKlingberg make sure to change it too in desktop display properties
Does this work with the steam deck? Cant seem to get it to show up
mine do not snap together, is this the steam version?
For me monitor 1 and 2 snap together but 3 is always off to the right of them. My copy is from the meta store.
Quest Pro cannot do 3 monitors, huh?
are there have different with quest 2 and 3 with this program for 3 monitor , and can i use for this to do my programming jobs ,and can we use mouse and keyboard with this
It's in the video
quest 3 I can only add one monitor ?I can't add the second one. the icon used to add becomes inactive
You might have already accidentally added 3 monitors, remove all monitors and start from scratch
Really cool, unfortunately either VD or Windows is freaked out by this.
Adding another Monitor just freezes the entire PC until i restart.
Time for a pc upgrade or a driver update

only feasible with virtual desktop ?
Nope you can do it with Immersed or Meta Workrooms too, but Virtual Desktop has the smoothest performance
