I’m 31 male healthy guy, today I had deep cleaning treatment and during treatment when I spit out in between there’s more blood and even doctor said I lost a more blood than others the treatment is some how uncomfortable with pain and after completing the treatment I fainted and the feeling was there for almost 30 minutes and then I came home and slept. First time I experienced like this for a dental treatment. Before also I did normal teeth cleaning and root canal as well. I bear the pain root canal more than this at that time but I don’t know what caused me to faint and dizzy that long. It was really terrible feeling today. Note : I don’t have BP, diabetes I’m a healthy guy who lifts weight regularly And eats healthy.
"I have gum disease, characterized by morning gum bleeding, bad breath, and noticeable mouth odor. Additionally, I'm scheduled for orthodontic braces, but my doctor advised that scaling must be done first due to calculus buildup before proceeding with the braces process. please suggest me that should I go for scaling treatment ? My teeth are already sensitive cold, sweet, water everything hurts alot
Hi everyone! I am a 28 year old guy who has serious dental anxiety that kept me from the dentist for atleast the last 10 years. Needless to say, I had some SERIOUS plaque build up. Well today I had a deep cleaning just like this! My bottom front teeth were in a very bad shape I could basically not see them. And i’m alive!!! I feel better about my teeth than I ever have. There was almost no pain in most places while doing the procedure, any of the pain came from the scraping but that was just more uncomfortable than anything. If you’re having any second thoughts, please trust me on this. I am someone who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks very easily and it REALLY isn’t that bad. Like seriously, it was not at all what I thought it would be. You can do this!!!!! Don’t talk yourself out of it, you have an opportunity to be brave!
Also i’m about 3 hours since having it done and all I can feel is a little bit of jaw soreness and some specific teeth and more sore than others. I’ll keep you guys updated if you’d like!!
I'm 48. Literally just had this procedure complete a couple hours ago. Totally worth it! The only discomfort was the needle to numb me. If the dentist says you need this type of cleaning, DO IT!
How long did it take? I heard they do one side of your mouth at a time because you won’t be able to eat anything and last I hate needles is the option too numb your gums with the gel available?
@Fucktheworld14020 one side at a time because of the time it takes to complete. They numbed me with one injection on the side near the back. It wasn't bad at all, just a little pressure. After the numbing wore off, I was just a little sore for the rest of the day. No problem eating whatsoever.
@@Fucktheworld14020 No, I had it done today. I ate as soon as I got home. Now, I had braces when I was younger, so I was used to dental pain, but it really wasn't bad. I took some naproxen and any soreness cleared right up. If you get it done, take some earbuds because that deep cleaning tool is kinda loud.
@@marklivingston330 I had the teething feeling soreness as the novacain wore off, about the time I got home. I took some naproxen and was fine. That stuff really helps with dental pain.
This saved my life. Like literally. Had a 7mm pocket that was full of ooze. Had it dug out today. I got my life back. I was in total misery for three days. I was mentally prepared for an extraction or root canal but am happy to report that all I needed was a deep cleaning.
Had all four quadrants done yesterday and today. Had bad anxiety over this, but my hygenist was amazing and gave me great after care and future care advice. This type of procedure is very simple and fast with the technological advancements in place. Remember; your hygenist is the first line of defense to avoid financially heart-stopping dental work!
I am scheduled for 4 quadrants this upcoming Monday. There goes Thanksgiving meal on Thursday unless I just eat mashed potatoes while everyone else stuffs there face.
@@ursulabklyn_mia6148 Not true! They will give you a pamphlet saying what you should and shouldn't eat and how to care for your teeth in the next few weeks. Most hygenists will say you can go back to eating regular food later the same day or the next day, but to avoid anything that will irritate your gums or stick in your teeth like seeds, kernals, etc.
Did you have your mouth numbed? I have an appointment coming up and im pretty sure they are just using topical numbing instead of a shot and so im just nervous about that.
@@caitlynl.5845 They just used topical. Unless you are super sensitive or request an injection due to nerves or have a low tolerance to pain, which there really isn't much of, the topical is more than enough. Don't be nervous; it is no big deal. I'd rather get this done any day of the week over a root canal or filling.
I went over 25 years without a visit. Finally bit the bullet and had severe periodontal disease but zero cavities. 3 and a half hours of scaling over 2 days and it was done. I considered the fact I didn't need any additional work a gift and have taken great care ever since. First 3 month follow up is in about 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to it. You videos have helped me through to continue good practices.
@lextacy2008 nope. In and out in 30 minutes. I have been consistently flossing 4 to 5 times a week and brushing once daily and twice 4 to 5 times a week. Trying to get both to 100 percent but old habits die hard. But she said everything looked great and keep doing what I'm doing. She polished them, used a pick in just a couple areas and flossed and I was done. And my gums feel so much better now that all the infection is healed. No more constant pain in my entire mount and overly sensitive gums.
Glad to hear it! I just need to floss and brush to death during my 3 months and hope for the best! Did you know you can add a natural topical to help grow back some gum tissue? Its from some tumeric gel or tree oil@@black_sheep_fab9411
I just had my first deep cleaning this week, they cleaned my whole mouth in 2 visits. I went in with no idea what to expect, definitely didn’t expect them to give me shots in my mouth! But it wasn’t that bad at all. A bit uncomfortable, and my gums are still a bit tender, but I am SO glad I got it done. I haven’t been consistent about my dental visits and I’m definitely going to get serious about my oral care and checkups from now on. I wanted to see exactly what they did, which is why I’m here. If you need this treatment, GET IT. You won’t regret it, and your teeth and gums will really appreciate a fresh clean slate.
Just had a deep cleaning I was terrified! They numbed me up I was extremely nervous the hygienist was super patient and kind and I didn’t feel any pain at all and I was mortified to see how much hard tartar was under the gum. I’m out and I’m alive and happy 🥹
Today I had my first deep cleaning appointment, I was very scared and worried because I watched a lot of videos and this is the first time in my life that I do a deep cleaning, because I had a bad experience with the dentist before. The cleaning was done without anesthesia, and there was no pain, and I did not feel anything, thank God. Please do not be afraid and tell your doctor before starting treatment about your fears
I should have watched your video before the procedure . I cried ! The sounds , the injections hurt my feelings . The dental doctor and assistant were so patient and gentle . I thank them And I am glad I did it .
as someone with dental anxiety i can say that while this is a little uncomfortable it feels SO nice afterwards. my teeth felt so clean and like spacious if that makes sense? i felt like I had a brand new mouth. 100% worth it
yes same here , I just got mine done today and half yesterday and my mouth feels spacious and sooo clean. My gums don't hurt as much when I floss. I feel so happy I finally just got it over with lol , I was postponing it for yearssss due to anxiety
I just got this done over the last two days. The doctor didn’t recommend numbing my whole mouth at one time. $600 procedure. I had this done when I was 36 and now again at 44. Kids, teenagers and young adults. Please take care of your dental hygiene at home. Dental work is not cheap. If you don’t have dental insurance, still go to the dentist and a regular cleaning is only $150.
@@xmarksthespot2005 yeah it’s normally 1200 but I pay out-of-pocket because my dental insurance does not cover this procedure yet as I just started being in rolled January 1. Dental insurance is kind of a joke and I’d rather just pay out of pocket. Ain’t no big deal, but what country are you from where a full mouth root scale and planning is only $100? Definitely not America.
@@xmarksthespot2005 yes, my whole mouth took about an hour and I said two days because I broke it up into two appointments. Not that it took 48 hours dog lol bro it took the same amount of time as yours did but I broke it into two appointments. Because the doctor did not recommend numbing my whole mouth as I need my mouth to make thousands bro. And don’t take that no flag it type of way like it. And plus I don’t go to no place that takes title 19 ghetto people ever. My doctor is strictly insurance patients and I have not been on my insurance that long so this is a major procedure that is not covered yet by insurance. So I pay out-of-pocket big deal I have plenty of thousands of dollars to take care of my body. I came into this world with a full grill and I’m going to leave this earth with a full grill
@@ColeighColeWee like this video talked about, I had deep pockets of 7’s and 8’s. I did several full mouth debridement’s, and then they sent me to a periodontist to get the RSP procedure done. The real reason is I did not have regular dental visits for a while, and I smoke cigarettes and drink sugary drinks and I wasn’t flossing every day.
When I was little I had cavities filled with no numbing and ever since then I have had severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist. It’s been over five years since I’ve been. I had a consultation done today for a cleaning and was told they need to do scaling and root planing. Needless to say my anxiety doesn’t like it but this video did help a little as I thought there was worse things going to happen. They will also be giving me laughing gas to calm my anxiety but this video has really helped. Thank you.
Just had my first cleaning in 8 years, ended up being a deep cleaning. Had a lot of pockets in the 4-6 range and it was pain free, honestly only took about 30-45 minutes. It’s been 4 hours since I left and my mouth is still numb, that’s the most annoying part. It’s not a bad procedure, trying to get it done and get back into the habit of going to the dentist every 6 months instead of once every several years. Take care of your oral hygiene!
Thank you I had wisdom tooth problem/ pain a few days ago had so much anxiety and was hella nervous got through it in 10 mins felt no pain and felt super relieved leaving the dentist office will go back for deep cleaning after my procedure heals up right
Had this done twice, and learned my lesson. I floss like crazy, use a waterpik, and perio trays. Sick of spending money on my teeth, I have 7 crowns and 2 implants.
Hello Whitney, when I had my routine cleaning on Tuesday the dental hygienist said my teeth were boring to clean because she did not have much to do. She said my teeth were so clean that it did not take long to work on them. I am doing a much better job with my oral care routine from watching your videos. I am doing better from incorporating what I learn from your informative videos into my daily routine.
Boo hoo for the dental hygienist my mouth can open so far dummy they are on my shi list I have to go in and get a crown on 1450 I might want to pay all cash th en all day I hope your f happy I know people don’t have that type of money just laying around.🤬😡
Same!!! I didn’t need much work at all, she identified that I wasn’t brushing well before but was doing a great job now and it shows bc I was boring. Took her like 25 mins to do all of my teeth.
I've had dental scaling and root planing done on my teeth twice. Once was done at a dental school. I have a cleft lip and palate, so I have scar tissue on the roof of my mouth. The student who did my cleaning did a nice job, and her teacher told me that my case was a great experience for the student because when the student goes into practice, she may have to help other people like me. The cleaning took a little longer, but we got it done.
Just had my 2nd half of my mouth cleaned and I'm shocked at how much better in improved my mouth. If you need this please do it. You won't feel anything while you are numb. I used earbuds to tune out the sounds
As someone who is anxious when it comes to the dentist , these clean ups are fast and very effective … if you never had a deep clean although pricey I recommend to anyone you won’t regret it
I just had this done yesterday and I may be in the 1% who absolutely love the pleasurable discomfort of this procedure. I had to have mine done in 2 sessions, they did my left side yesterday and touched up my right because im such a good patient 😇 she was able to go deeper without the anxiety of feeling like she's hurting me. I told her to GET DEEP IN THERE, I LOVE THE PAIN because i know afterwards, my teeth and gumline will be beautiful! She said i have "a lot of 5's and 6's" thank you for reminding me of what those numbers mean. My biggest fear is losing my teeth 😫 so i will do and pay anything to maintain my beautiful teeth and smile.
I got a deep clean, and I feel so much better. I was scared at first and put it back for 3 years, but knew it is for the greater good for my hygiene. And now I feel a lot better after the deep cleaning.
I had this done! I had a lot of 4s and 5s because I didn’t go to the dentist for 2 years. I had started bone loss. I’m 32 and got my first 2 cavities at 30. Went Please go to the dentist! I went back today and have 1,2, a few 3s I’m workin on. So much better!
I hyped myself up for weeks before my deep clean appointment. I was nervous about the pain and the lidocaine shot and it drove me crazy! Granted me teeth weren't all too bad with some very beginning stages of recession, this procedure does not hurt! It's just uncomfortable at certain points from the scraping sounds and some gum sensitivity from the cleaning but nothing unbearable and im a baby when it comes to pain. The lady gave me a topical type of numbing which looks like a tiny needle probe that she sticks down between each tooth's gemlike and squirts it in but it is completely bearable! No numbing shot was needed. If you need this done, do it and don't hesitate. This experience has made me confident and comfortable with dental work all over again. Just had this done yesterday and they had an opening for later this afternoon to do the other side of my mouth and I took it!
Does the topical numbing hurt when your hygienist squirted it between each tooth? Also how long did it take? I have an appointment coming up soon and im very nervous about it.
@@caitlynl.5845 no not at all. It feels the same as when they do that gum recession test with that metal pick, Not sure if they did that for you but that's usually the test they do to see how bad gum recession is. It feels no different than that! worst part about that part was the taste of it gel. it is straight bitter and now flavoring added to it
Been going through a ton of dental work after not having insurance for years. It just wasn't affordable, and I was irresponsible and let things get bad. Have my first quadrant cleaning in the AM, so I'm up watching videos freaking out. I love your videos - definitely comforting and makes it less scary.
21 year old here, just had half my mouth done today, here’s the reality 1. The injections aren’t bad, but aren’t fun, I got 4 total for my right side, but once it’s done it’s done 2. They might use the pressurized water thing first, just convince yourself it’s just water and it becomes more comfortable, it was very un-nerving when my dentist started Overall it’s a very uncomfortable sensation from start to finish, it is however, bearable You got this
hi guys! 16 year old here. I havent been able to go to a dentist for around 7 years and, due to a number of factors, have barely been brushing my teeth at all. However, I finally managed to find a place that was willing to accept me! They had to x-ray my teeth because they were so dirty and full of plaque and tartar that they couldn’t see the actual issues with my teeth. I’m having a deep clean today, in about 2 hours, so i’m going to use this little comment section as a diary about my dental journey. Reading through all these comments has made me feel a lot better about my deep clean, so thank you everyone! So far, I need 2 teeth removed and 2 fillings, so i’ll update here to inform you all how those go in the future. For now, wish me luck at my deep clean!
I DID IT! i didnt even feel a thing! they didnt numb me or anything! it took literally less than 6 minutes and the only uncomfortable thing about it was the small mirror tool they were using to keep my mouth open wide enough for them to do the work! I was genuinely terrified, shaking and everything, about to have a panic attack, but it wasnt bad at all! I have to admit, though, my teeth feel weird physically when im running my tongue along them. I can feel each individual tooth, which is weird for me because my plaque build up was pretty bad so all my teeth kind of merged together in a weird plaque-y mess. they feel so much better now theyve been done, and i can actually breathe between my teeth at the front! my bottom front teeth were, unsurprisingly, the worst, but they dont hurt at all. If anything, they feel strange. It kind of feels like my dentist has shaved/filed my teeth down. Some parts feel smooth, like where the build up was really bad on the bottom inside of my bottom teeth, while other parts, mainly the inside tops of my bottom teeth, feel rough, a bit like sandpaper. Overall, it was pretty much painless, but there was a bit of blood. Im honestly surprised there was any blood at all. I didnt feel any pain, so spitting the blood out at the end was quite a surprise to me. honestky it made me feel kinda badass, like a superhero in an edit lol. Also, I was really scared of them suctioning a certain tooth on my bottom right because i have an exposed nerve in the cavity i have in it and its really painful when i make any sucking motions on it but fortunately the suction machine is a lot bigger than i thought it would be so they held it above my mouth and it sucked from everywhere in my mouth at the same time, so there wasnt one particular area that was put under more pressure than anywhere else. They kept the suction machine in the same place for the whole time and i didnt feel anything in my throat, aside a little bit of water that was quickly suctioned back up.
Am speechless watching that video about deep cleaning knowing that I visited progressive dental care she didn’t numb me I was in pain I couldn’t breathe, only God knows what I went through 😢thank you for this video!
Not a fan of dentists either. Had three injections today which seemed to last forever!😢 Those were the worst part, the rest was pretty easy. The numbness wore off with minimal pain. Next month, getting the left side done. So happy to have it taken care of🤩
I havent been to the dentist in about 1 decade. I went today and only need 1 filling and a deep cleaning. I stopped going because i got 4 teeth taken out in 1 day before i got braces when i was a teen. The cleaning processes brought back memories😂. Obviously i didnt cry like i used to when i was a kid. I even went back to my old dentist and saw all the familiar faces ,felt like i just got back home after a long vacation. There is one guy at work whom breath stinks extremely bad but he has gingivitis or some sort of gum disease because his gums bleed. I hope he gets the help he needs because the quality of life can be affected severely. Take care of your teeth people!
If anyone needs this done and doesn't have insurance I highly recommend a dental savings plan. It is a discount program, yes you pay a bit to sign up but all the fees for your dental visits will be at a reduced cost. I never knew this was a thing. It has already paid for itself. Considering I have dental trauma, I hadn't seen a dentist in my adult life. But this year I finally bit the bullet, the plan is saving a lot for this procedure too. :)
Just had my done by a very good dental hygienist, little pain but worth every penny. My gums were looking better over night. She took out black rocks underneath my gums, that was something i didnt expect 😅
I've got to go in for this treatment and watching videos on it has eased my anxiety a little. I was basing my expectation solely around what I was imagining based on the name. Much better to get an accurate view of what it actually is
This is why we need universal healthcare. I was privileged enough growing up to have parents that had health insurance all of my life and we usually always went to doctors/dentists annually/semi annually. i couldn't imagine not seeing a doctor, eye doctor or dentist for years. your personal health is important guys!!!
I just had mine done three hours ago. I go back in two weeks for the left side. Very easy and simple procedure. Looking forward to getting my gums back healthy. I have gingivitis. Wasnt taking good care of my teeth due to depression. Im working on goals and one if for healthier teeth
You need to floss everyday because plaque accumulate fast and using a dental scaler to remove accumulated plaque can affect your teeth enamel which is the protective layer your teeth have. I love this video because keeping your teeth healthy and clean has a direct impact in your overall health. I struggled all my life looking for ways to remove plaque. I have used all kinds of flossing devices to reduce cavities and doctor visits. But enough is enough, so I developed Easy Flosser and recently the Gap Picker to make flossing sessions easier than ever. Do not wait until your teeth turn as those shown on this video, it cost a lot of money, time and it affects your overall health so NEVER STOP FLOSSING OR CLEANING BETWEEN TEETH.
You are very informative... great videos! Just a week ago I had the deep cleaning and scaling treatment. Having a procedure done and seeing how it is done are very helpful and informative. Thank you! : )
Had this done today. I am 27 and never had a cleaning, years of plague. I had quite a bit of blood and I will say... It hurt. My eyes watered and I cringed. Not crying, but similar to when your eyes water if you were to get a face piercing. Honestly, I would rather have the shot in my gums that you get for a filling. I got zero numbing for this and I could literally taste blood in my mouth because I had a lot. Sucked. Lol.
Dental Receptionist here. So SRPs are done in such a way, as the mouth is divided in to 4 quadrants. Your dental hygienist will typically do 2 quadrants or half or your mouth in a session. How they divide this up, depends on your hygienist. So you will typically have this done in 2 sessions unless you have a particularly severe case. If you have any questions on how your particular hygienist is going to “ divide and conquer”, so to speak, feel free to ask them. They have no problem answering these questions.
Just had my first half (2 quadrants) deep cleaning done. It was like the video but they rarely used the metal scraper. They did use iodine at the end (it tastes so awful) then rinsed it off, and after polished and applied some mint stuff. They gave me antibiotics because of a small abscess
Please get this done if your dentist suggests it. I was terrified at first. And yes it feels weird, but it shouldn't hurt. They started on my right side first because that's where the bulk of my plaque was. In my case it took an hour and a half, but I was numbed up so good ,I didn't even notice the time.
Perfect explanation! I really appreciate your amazing work done in this channel. I have anxiety and I struggle to relax and have a good night of sleep. Thank you very much for explaining all these contents and provide both public knowledge and health. Cheers!
Going in for one tomorrow. Had one done on one side last year. I got VERY close together teeth and flossing is hard so it's a necessity. The procedure isn't comfortable but it's not bad! Bring music, chill out.
Jus completed my deep cleaning last week wasn't the best feeling but it was well worth it 😌 hoping to see some good results had a few deep pockets unfortunately
@@troutmansfinest1 if they pre-numb you with gel, you still feel a pinch but it's not bad, just uncomfortable. But once the needle's in there it gets immediately numb. Now if you need a nerve blocker good god, best of luck. That goes in the hinge of your jaw and they can't pre-numb you.
Had a deep cleaning done (dubious to whether I genuinely *needed* it at the time) but if it's a once in a while thing, whatever. I opted for topical gel and didn't feel anything, which I was worried about because I'm a natural redhead and as such tend to need more anesthetic, so I was glad I didn't feel any discomfort. (the only pain was the bill)
I too wonder if I needed that done. Topical gel was used didn't feel anything. Oh my was it expensive! I don't plan on having that procedure again ever in this lifetime.
EDIT: Went to another dentist for a cleaning and check up, and lo' and behold, they told me I in fact did NOT need a deep cleaning at all- the hygienist said my oral hygiene was excellent, and that the previous practice absolutely scammed me :(
@@ThatDamnPandaKaiHappened to me now realky need serious debtal work. Not happy at all. Gum recession each time and more pain. Beware there are hacks in all professions. Had to doctor and vet hop a lot. Many are in it for the money.
If you wouldn’t mind, could you expand on the pain aspect? Was that after the numbing wore off or some part of the process that causes pain? This video honestly didn’t really explain what any numbing was for; it didn’t look that bad in the animations.
I just had a deep cleaning recently and without numbing gel. It honestly didn’t hurt at all if anything it just felt itchy but afterwards they brushed my teeth and it went away.
Today I had my first root debridement session - half mouth - 2 hour session. Not pleasant and actually blew my mind how rigourous the scraping part of it is. The hardest part is the jaw fatigue and soreness & friction burns caused to my lips from the lengthy session. Im back in a few months for part 2. Costing me a fortune but 100% essential as my pockets are betw 4 and 8mm.
@@budakai7996 that is true! I said the same thing myself. I always brushed & flossed but had no deep cleans. Paying the price now after 50 years. My mum lost all her teeth at 19 - there's a strong genetic component too.
I just visited my dentist recently for a routine cleaning but was suggested to have deep cleaning done. The one problem I have with the dental procedures is that my jaw gets sore and tired easily from my mouth being opened. My jaw actually was locked open twice during a simple cleaning procedure that I needed to use my hand and push my chin up to close my mouth. 😩
Just had this done this morning (in the UK). The dentist applied numbing gel to the top and bottom gums. 20 minutes later, the whole of my mouth had had the deep clean. I would describe it as a more vigorous clean than the dentist would normally give you, but not overly uncomfortable at all. My dentist offered to do the whole mouth in two appointments and offered a needle to numb the mouth, but I opted to have it all done in one go without a needle. If you're worried about this - don't be! I'm now 5 hours after the clean and I've had a normal lunch and my gums aren't sore at all.
Such great and interesting videos. I love watching them. Thank you for sharing them with us. The sound of water cleaning to me sounds like a drill. It always makes me sweat when I have it done, but I know it is necessary.
When it was lockdown on 2020, I flossed my front most teeth and it bled a bit but I shrug it off. However, after a few weeks later, it got inflammed and there was a white bump on the front most part of my gum between the teeth. A couple more months pass and it has become swollen and was tender red and eating food which has a bit of acidity in them especially vinegar would irritate it and made it hurt to the point that I had to put an ice cube for a minute or so to let it settle down from the irritation. Just this february, I had this procedure done and boy was I so happy in just a couple of days after cleaning, the swelling was gone about maybe 70%! If you haven't been to a dentist for a while, this procedure is a must, especially if you don't floss at least 2 - 3 times a week.
I never did flossing because I was to lazy. I thought that just brushing my teeth truly every day would help me keep my teeth clean. I just got approved by my health insurance for a deep cleaning which I didn’t know I needed however my doctor told me I have gingivitis 😢 after deep cleaningI will protect my teeth healthy properly and responsibly by flossing even if I don’t like it. I’m in my late 20’s and I do wanna lose my teeth to young. A healthy gum has to be as important as a healthy life. ❤
I had this done today. I did not get any numbing and had all 4 quadrants done. It was honestly brutal. I would recommend getting numbing before doing it. I had lots of blood as well. I was not a happy camper but didn’t complain during the procedure.
I'm 26 and had mine done today. It was excruciatingly painful. Probably the worst pain I have experienced in my life was when I had it done without anasthetic. Today is was still painful-yes my gums were in a bad state and even with 6 points of Local Anasthetic which numbed my face, It was still quite painful, but not nearly as bad as without numbing. Don't listen to people on here saying they had no pain. Everyone's gums are different, you might have borderline gum disease and weaker gums, so chances are it'll hurt and bleed a lot more. Another thing, there can be quite a lot of blood. So just keep rinsing after, and there is soreness too so just eat soft foods and you'll be pain free within half a day hopefully. It is one of those things you just have to do though, you're way better off getting it done and staying on top of teeth hygiene. Stay brave and the feeling of clean and polished teeth is rewarding.
Just did it today, no anesthetic, and also, i didn’t go for years before this. And it really wasn’t that bad. Felt nothing besides on one or two spots that were done in second anyway. So yeah.. 9/10 pain free.
Im 23 yrs old. I spent my whole childhood in and out of orthodontist and dentist offices and after high school I just gave up on myself. This past year I really realized how bad I fumbled. I tried to just keep going despite the pain but here last week my wisdom teeth were hurting so bad I just wanted to die. I don’t have insurance or anything so going was extra worrisome for me. I’m ashamed of the fact I let my mouth get to this state it’s in but I went to the dentist and off rip he said we’re gonna need to extract your wisdom teeth and two molers. And was only charged 240$!!!!!!!!!!’ FOR 6 teeth extractions!!!! Now I’m recovering this week and next week I’m going in for fillings and god knows what next.. root canals and partials, deep cleanings. After everything my dentist told me I’ll only owe 1500$. I’m getting almost 7,000$ worth of work done to my mouth for a fraction of what other people would have charged me. I’m beyond grateful rn. I broke down when I got in the dentist and I think the guy took pity on me idk. All I know is I’m going to do my BEST this go around to have a mouth I’m proud of. One I don’t feel like everyone is grossed out by me when I smile at them!!!
I just had a scaling and root planing done yesterday on my entire mouth and it was crazy. It was so painful when the dentist injected the anesthesia. I think that was the worst part for me. Other than that, my mouth feels squeaky clean now. You should have seen me post-anesthesia. I couldn't speak right for 2 hours since my whole face was numb! 🤣
I had one a few years ago and now I have to get it done again. The needle was the worse part, but I could still feel it when they started and I had to get more! I'm so nervous I have to go next week
I have an 8mm pocket that I recently found I have from my new dentist. My old dentist never did any periodontal checks with the perio probe and never informed me. My new dentist immediately noticed how deep the pockets were and I’m now on track to get a gingivectomy from a periodontist to fix the problem.
I have advanced periodontal disease and I have never had anesthesia 😢 It’s so painful! I have to go get this done tomorrow at a new dentist so hopefully they numb me.
I've had this done 2 or 3 times in my lifetime (I'm over 60 with a family history of periodontal disease). The dentist used a topical numbing agent then the injection.
I just did that yesterday lot of deposits and so much bleeding... My mouths feels so clean and my lower gums are gone and too sensitive now. Hopefully it will grow back and have a healthy teeth.
My dentist who i see regularly every 6 months said i require a deep cleaning now. Which was ridiculous to me when I take care of my teeth on the daily, and if they are doing good regular cleanings on my teeth, its a shock i now need a deep clean. I am going for a second opinion, because of that but also because of the fact that there is a chance your gums won't reattach after the procedure and they didn't even tell me that risk (or any risks tbh). Don't be afraid to ask another dentist for an opinion, especially if it seems like the original dentist is all about $$$
I havent gotten a cleaning in like 3 years due to finical situation, just got back from the dentist today and my suspicions were right I do need to get it done. Happy that it’ll prevent any gum disease, sad it can’t happen soon enough :/ its like almost another 2 months away. Just gotta keep up with regular dental stuff till then.
I had a molar (#30)crack in half and a chunk of my tooth had come off about four or five months ago. I was in constant pain and it got so bad that I could barely chew and if anything even went near the hole in my tooth it would cause excruciating pain.I was also afraid of the infection spreading throughout my body because it was causing constant fatigue, cold sweats and fever. I decided to face my fears and found a dentist. I went in for an X-ray and the dentist immediately recommended an emergency extraction right there on the spot even though it was the end of his work day! I was prescribed antibiotics, prescription strength mouthwash and 800mg ibuprofen . I had the extraction last week and today I got multiple fillings along with a full deep cleaning !! Once the extraction heals I’m getting an implant! I already feel so much better! Although the initial shots in my mouth hurt a little , it was nowhere near the pain of that rotting tooth I was harboring.. better out than in! The only way to heal is to let go of the old you to make room for the new. I now look forward to my next appointment 😊
Thanks for these videos, I like how you present them and yourself, so I subscribed and I'm looking forward to other vids to get better oral hygiene. I just had a deep cleaning today and it wasn't bad at all... They numb up your mouth, then inject a few areas with the novacaine? Or whatever numbing agent they use I forget what she said it was but I barely felt even a pinch since my gums were already a bit numb, then they numb it even more and I didn't feel a single 1 of those since my mouth was numb at that point. I had my right side done today and go back in a week to get the left side done. There were a few teeth that were slightly sensative but that was about the extent of it. I had tartar buildup pretty bad and it caused slight bone loss so I'm glad to be getting this done. If you're on edge about the needles just close your eyes it truly is barely a pinch. I can handle needles but not a fan of them near my mouth so I know some will have a tough time with that but I think closing your eyes will help, good luck and happy smiles!
Wish I would have saw this video earlier! I just got my deep cleaning today and my dentist did NOT use any numbing! It was excruciating pain some parts I wanted to cry. I put nail marks in my hand from the pain. And now the pain I’m left with for recovering is horrible. My jaw, teeth, and gums are so sore, and swollen. Oh and I still taste everything they did 😢
Had my first half done and was extremely nervous, but thankfully, my experience wasn't bad at all. Honestly, it kind of felt good. However, I was provided anesthesia, so I can't attest to what it feels like without it.

I’ll keep you guys updated if you’d like!!
thank you SO much for motivating others to take care of their dental health!! so happy to hear you did!!! wishing you continued dental health!
Your comment motivates me to make the first appointment at a periodontal clinic. I'm freaking out. Good to hear you experienced almost no pain.
Thank you x
@@ninan3ko I am so happy to hear that. You got this!!!
I hope Novocaine isn’t necessary. I’m phobic of needles
That was neat, and accurate. 65 yrs old and had my first deep clean today. A piece of cake! I love modern dentistry.
This saved my life. Like literally. Had a 7mm pocket that was full of ooze. Had it dug out today. I got my life back. I was in total misery for three days. I was mentally prepared for an extraction or root canal but am happy to report that all I needed was a deep cleaning.
I have to get this done… Did it hurt???

Glad to hear all four quadrants can be done at once!
What happened during your follow up? Did they have to scale again?

Today I had my first deep cleaning appointment, I was very scared and worried because I watched a lot of videos and this is the first time in my life that I do a deep cleaning, because I had a bad experience with the dentist before. I just got this done over the last two days. The doctor didn’t recommend numbing my whole mouth at one time. $600 procedure. I had this done when I was 36 and now again at 44. Kids, teenagers and young adults. Please take care of your dental hygiene at home. Dental work is not cheap.
21 year old here, just had half my mouth done today, here’s the reality
1. The injections aren’t bad, but aren’t fun, I got 4 total for my right side, but once it’s done it’s done
2. They might use the pressurized water thing first, just convince yourself it’s just water and it becomes more comfortable, it was very un-nerving when my dentist started
Overall it’s a very uncomfortable sensation from start to finish, it is however, bearable

According to my Dentist 😬

Thanks for the info. Quick question, is a deep cleaning done because you have periodontitis?

Just had my first half (2 quadrants) deep cleaning done. It was like the video but they rarely used the metal scraper. They did use iodine at the end (it tastes so awful) then rinsed it off, and after polished and applied some mint stuff. They gave me antibiotics because of a small abscess
Please get this done if your dentist suggests it. I was terrified at first. And yes it feels weird, but it shouldn't hurt. Going in for one tomorrow. Had one done on one side last year. I got VERY close together teeth and flossing is hard so it's a necessity. The procedure isn't comfortable but it's not bad! Bring music, chill out.
Numbing and anesthesia is the worst part for me every time. I got a deep clean couple month ago omg my teeth looked so much healthier and whiter
Going for my deep cleaning in 2 weeks I'm really nervous for the anesthesia part needles make me queasy can u explain the pain levels lol
@@troutmansfinest1 for a deep clean I felt no pain at all . I never liked needles it’s very uncomfortable and the numb gel is gross lol
How are you doing now? My dentist suggested deep cleaning.
Just had one of these. I suggest that everybody get one.
The first 2 days after completion of this task is the nest part
Thank you This video really helps to put my anxieties at ease. ❤
EDIT: Went to another dentist for a cleaning and check up, and lo' and behold, they told me I in fact did NOT need a deep cleaning at all- the hygienist said my oral hygiene was excellent, and that the previous practice absolutely scammed me :(
hhhh yes its expensive this treatment
@@ThatDamnPandaKaiHappened to me now realky need serious debtal work. Not happy at all. Gum recession each time and more pain. Beware there are hacks in all professions. Had to doctor and vet hop a lot. Many are in it for the money.
Just had this done and from now on I’m gonna take care of my teeth. So much pain afterwards.

Oh no…
Today I had my first root debridement session - half mouth - 2 hour session.
Dentistry isn’t expensive dental neglect is expensive
@@budakai7996 that is true! I said the same thing myself. I always brushed & flossed but had no deep cleans. Paying the price now after 50 years. My mum lost all her teeth at 19 - there's a strong genetic component too.
I just visited my dentist recently for a routine cleaning but was suggested to have deep cleaning done. The one problem I have with the dental procedures is that my jaw gets sore and tired easily from my mouth being opened. My jaw actually was locked open twice during a simple cleaning procedure that I needed to use my hand and push my chin up to close my mouth. 😩
Maybe they can use a mouth prop? It’s a device you can bite on that will still keep it open!
@@jaquelinemiles3283 smart! never knew about this
Can you tell me if it hurts to do this
My husband has what you have it's called tmj ❤️
Ask for a bite block, same thing happens to me and with that bite block you can bite down on it and essentially rest your jaw. It helps so so much
Just had this done this morning (in the UK).
Whoa, what a champ 😅
Any particular reason you opted out of the needle?
Didn't feel the need for it after the numbing gel. It numbed it sufficiently for the 10/15 minutes the whole procedure took.@@helee28
Such great and interesting videos. I love watching them. Thank you for sharing them with us. The sound of water cleaning to me sounds like a drill. It always makes me sweat when I have it done, but I know it is necessary.
Thank you! I just had a deep cleaning today.
Peace, love and teeth earned you another subscriber 😘
thank you for being here :) :) :)
I'm 26 and had mine done today. It was excruciatingly painful. Probably the worst pain I have experienced in my life was when I had it done without anasthetic. Today is was still painful-yes my gums were in a bad state and even with 6 points of Local Anasthetic which numbed my face,
It was still quite painful, but not nearly as bad as without numbing.
Thank you for this explanation.
Just did it today, no anesthetic, and also, i didn’t go for years before this. And it really wasn’t that bad. Felt nothing besides on one or two spots that were done in second anyway. So yeah.. 9/10 pain free.
Did they atleast ask if you wanted anesthesia?
This is exactly how I feel
Don’t worry you’re not the only one in the same boat you got this. I have a similar story.
I had this done today, it wasn’t that bad!!!!!
Did your teeth got any kind of problem like sensitivity or any other issue after cleaning treatment?
Getting the root planing done tomorrow, it was nice to get a visual on what will be going on.
i have a deep cleaning session tomorrow and here i am using your comment section as a shield 😂
want my healthy gums back asap 😢✨
@@sadqutoes225did u get it?
You are helping me so much and i really want to thank you! This video made me make a dentist appointement ^^
thank YOU so much for telling me this! wishing you a smooth dental appointment and continued dental health!
I’m getting mine tomorrow so I came here to see what to expect. I told my mom I’m telling them no novocaine
I had one a few years ago and now I have to get it done again. The needle was the worse part, but I could still feel it when they started and I had to get more! I'm so nervous I have to go next week
I brought a stress ball and closed my eyes my mouth was messed up hours after she was finished
hi, did you not have receding guns after your treatment?
this is what my anxiety attack me when anesthesia came its too hard to move my face ...
Both a lovely presenter and presentation. Thank you :)
How did it go?
Thank you because I’ll be getting this procedure in 15 more days
How are you doing now? My dentist suggested deep cleaning.
How are you doing now? My dentist suggested deep cleaning.
Don't be afraid to ask another dentist for an opinion, especially if it seems like the original dentist is all about $$$
That's dodgy as!. I'm in exact same situation. Did you end up doing the deep cleaning?
My sister had it done and since then she’s had teeth fall out. They cut away bone! No thanks.
A great teaching video! I had scaling done in my early twenties. My gums were very sore when the anesthesia wore off but it only lasted a few hours.
Thanks for the video my dentist scheduled me for deep cleaning? i guess😅
Coz she determined my gums are deep and gaps are big 😱😰
I gave myself gum disease by not flossing. Ya live and you learn the hard way…
Thank you easy to understand you explained it in layman‘s terms. Now I can get my deep cleaning done
I had mostly 3’s and 4’s, maybe one 5? They’re still going to do this.
Does this process have any negative side effects? I’m scared that a few of my teeth that have shifted will become loose? Does this happen?
Wish I would have saw this video earlier! I just got my deep cleaning today and my dentist did NOT use any numbing! It was excruciating pain some parts I wanted to cry. I put nail marks in my hand from the pain. And now the pain I’m left with for recovering is horrible. My jaw, teeth, and gums are so sore, and swollen. Oh and I still taste everything they did 😢
how are you doing now? was it worth it?
WTF! Hopefully you’re at least on the right track now 🤦🏾♂️
@@ScorpionF1RE_USA yeah I’m good now! Soreness lasted a few days but was worth it!!
@@uzo9887 yep! Got wisdom teeth removed the other day and now all up from here!
@@peytonswadling5985 that’s awesome. I got a deep cleanse, fillings and two wisdom teeth extracted TODAY
My dentist did this to me today went under my gums I was 2-3 but still hurt !! I wasn’t numb hurt like hell!
Had my first half done and was extremely nervous, but thankfully, my experience wasn't bad at all. Honestly, it kind of felt good. However, I was provided anesthesia, so I can't attest to what it feels like without it.
Had my whole mouth done today without any anaesthesia and it was uncomfortable but not painful!
I love your channel. Happy smiles
A water flosser with the Pik Pocket tip keeps my pockets at 3 or less.
