Ah, one of my biggest regrets in life is letting my depression take over my life. And one of the cons to that invasion was my health. And especially my oral health, I would sleep all day and never get up. To this day I somehow still have my teeth somehow, I always brush and floss, but the depression always comes back and strikes me, it’s very fragmented
OMG sameeeee! I'm going to the dentist today for thew first time in YEARS! I used to love the dentist & used to go as often as I should have, then depression hit & my oral hygiene took a hit because of it. Hoping to get things in order today & I'm gonna try my damnedest to keep up my at hime oral care.
I’ve been dealing with depression for like 5 yrs now so I can completely relate with slacking on the daily routine activities such as brushing your teeth. I went to the dentist yesterday and they told me I need a deep cleaning and have slight bone loss 😩. I’ve always had insecurities about my breath since I started smoking but I didn’t think about bone loss. We can’t go back in time but we can change it moving forward. I might have to pay $1200 for this deep cleaning but I promise that I’ll care more for myself moving forward for prevention. When you look better you tend to feel better. This too shall pass 🙏🏽✨
I had ultrasonic scaling and rooting done on my upper premolars, which had pretty bad periodontitis, then finished off with laser treatment. After that I have been brushing 3 times a day, started using xylitol and using mouthwash. My pocket is at a 1 now and i have bone regrowth. Don't give up hope guys! Just take it really serious after treatment :)
Wow!! That’s great to hear. I had the same thing done with two extractions . Right now I’m waiting for my wel dental water flosser with xylitol. I still have tooth pain I’ve been doing everything from, coconut oil pulling , Salt rinses , Tea Tree oil on my sensidine toothpaste , and flossing all the tine . It seems to be working a little bit ,but still a little nervous. I’m really hoping this wel dental flosser works. I also ordered OraMD. I’ll try it all 😂😂. Anything to ot have to pull another tooth. Im already going to hace to shell out 5gs for those implants 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@harrysmith8329 bleeding gums an pain in one tooth. It’s my own fault. I ignored the bleeding gums. I’m paying for it now though. I’m a little nervous about losing more teeth. It’s costly & painful lol. So I hope these two products I ordered help. OraMD an weldental water water flosser with xylitol. Let me know if you need the links ?
for everybody nervous about their gums, i was nervous too but i had scaling 3 days ago and only after the visit my pockets were gone (now gums need to reattach to teeths only), i had really bad looking gums and had 3 gum pockets so i know how stressful it can be, just go to dentist and it will be fine
@@0BAYAREA0 i thought my were really bad, because they were but after that cleaning it just dissapeared, gum between my front teeth were the worst and now they are very healthy so good luck
I don’t know if you still active on this comment, but I have SRP treatment and I’m scared it might hurt or I might get too much anxiety. I respect my dentists so I don’t wanna seem rude or mean because of anxiety. All I wanna know is if it’s painful or if it’s normal and if I should do a whole side of the mouth or just a quadrant?
If you have gingivitis or periodontitis at any stage all this after care does not matter if your diet is not as clean as possible. Avoid overly processed food and PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DIET PLEASE. In the long run, this is the most important thing.
Thank you for this video. I have had this issue and now after scaling and root plaining every 3 months, I am much better and going back to every 6 month cleanings. I did up my routine and now I brush with an electric toothbrush, floss, interdental picks and I use a waterpik. I did have bone loss in my back teeth upper left and right sides, but I didn't have gum surgery. I love your videos, very informative and spot on.
My periodontist told me that i had the best gums shes seen that day, and i was a later in the day at 15:00. I told her that i watch your videos for tips and she said whatever youre doing its working. Ty a million!
I have this and I’m so scared. I’m going to the dentist tomorrow and I know it’s going to be expensive... it’s hard to deal with because I was never taught how to actually care for my teeth, and how important it was, many years of mental health problems and not caring for my teeth really caught up with me when I started smoking tobacco products. I saw no signs of anything bad and then it recently got super bad and went downhill quickly. I’m terrified of tooth loss and I’m just hoping it’s not too late... I just regret not knowing how important it was until now
I'm lucky I live here in scotland, They have made all dental care free for under 26's and soon everyone will have it free. I really feel for Americans and all other countries that have to fork out stupid amounts of money for dental care, or just health care in general.
@@akooma3694 NHS dental care only goes so far though. I heard that a dentist (NHS) gets paid the same for an extraction as they do for performing a root canal, guess what gets done more often? A friend was quoted £14000 for implants on one side which couldn't be done NHS. These weren't cosmetic implants by the way. Having said that, for routine care and maintenance you can't beat NHS dental care.
Hii so I went to the dentist and I will tell you what she told me! First I had gingivitis but it was pretty mild so if you have it more severe you should prolly go to the dentist but if it’s pretty mild like mine you might be able to treat it at home:) first she deep cleaned the gums that were inflamed, I feel like a deep clenaing would be good but not necessary. You can start by flossing frequently and brush your gums in circular motions when brushing your teeth but don’t do it too aggressively. Also if you have braces there is a special floss for it. Use salt water to disinfect and try to kill the bacteria in your gums and if you have listerine or mouth wash I recommend using that since it will help destroy plaque and help gingivitis. She prescribed me with a special moutwash and toothpaste but you need a doctors prescription for that thought it’s not necessary, I still recommend you visit the dentist but if you can’t then I say brush and floss frequently two to three times a day and after you eat and rinse your mouth with salt water and listerine and it should go away with time and good oral hygiene lmk if you have any questions I’m not a professional this is just based from my experience:)
Thank you so much I got so scared I have my ortho appointment on Wednesday and the last few times I went he kept saying I had a gum infection so I got it clean but I still think it looks bad idk what to do but this really helped tysmm 😭‼️
@@kash1046 do your gums hurt? I only knew when it was red and really painful, but if the pains gone then I think you don't have it anymore, but i'd still get it checked at the dentist since your ortho is saying you have an infection:)
I just wanted to ask what were your symptoms? Idk if I have it or not I'm gonna go to a dentist because my teeth feel very weird after I ate an apple. I dont have any pain but I started taking home redoes like drinking green tea and rinsing my moutb...I'm actually freaking out

my previous dentist told me I am too young to have my gums be in pain all the time and bleeding. I just got a new dentist and he right away scheduled 4 hygienist appointments for me bc I have periodontitis.
I am a new hygienist and I have someone tomorrow who I briefly saw (just got through xrays and perio charting) and I was teetering between a level 2 prophy and an SRP and this video gave me the guidance I needed! Thank you for the great info as always!
Oh my goodness thank you so much for saying that. I still struggle in the gray area too! There's a fine line between a scaling with inflammation vs SRP sometimes! It always helps me to talk it through with other hygienists and my dentist! Thank you again for watching!

Not looking forward to my inevitable dental exam 🤣 thankfully I just got new toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash and I just washed my teeth before watching this video.
I feel like important dental information is only unlocked to you once its to late. There needs to be better education of mouth health early on in life.
Food always get stuck under the gums of my molars. And i get really uncomfortable until i use a toothpick to remove the food or meat stuck under gums. Thats when i came to know of my gum disease called POCKETS. Its itchy feeling. To get rid of POCKETS ( structure like a hole between teeth) floss daily with string floss or WATERFLOSSER then brush your teeth twice a day then use mouthwash to keep away from germs and bacteria that attacks the gums. THIS way, your gums will become more strong and u will feel very good. Also dont forget to check your teeth with a dentist atleast twice a year. Always do SCALING of your teeth atleast once a year as it removes the tartar and plaque and keeps your mouth and gums healthy. If you all do this, you all will realise that you will stop bleeding from your gums and will have no problem in future. Stop smoking and eating TOBACCO. It increases germs and bacteria and leads to GENGIVITIS and finally PERIODENTIS. Stay HEALTHY
See the hygienist every 3 months and use an electric toothbrush to clean your teeth until they are clean. My pockets went to zeros after doing this but you must stay on top of it daily. My gums don’t bleed now. So there is hope if you are motivated
Yeah I got a normal cleaning and told “brush your teeth at a 45 degree angle. Never told to come back for a checkup, that was 5 years ago. Wasn’t mentioned recently when I went back and was told I need all this work, so when I reached out to a Turkish dentist they said we should do a laser treatment for your gums hopefully not surgery before we can fix your teeth. So that’s great. At least they care enough to fix it.
This is so much value! Im a pretty girl with moderately advanced periodontal disease... Knowledge is power. I had severe depression and a bit of substance abuse. These things are terrible, but if I could give advice to anyone moving through any stage of life, depressed or high on drugs or content or greiving, id say do whatever you need to do, but clean your teeth, floss, use a mouthwash. Definitely twice a day if you smoke. Try to cut down on smoking. Always rinse after smoking. Don't smoke lol. Don't drink. But of you do, don't pass out without brushing teeth. If you do, brush them and floss them as soon as you wake up. Please seek help, even in the kindness of strangers... Find a place of comfort to heal. I noticed my gums flare up when I had high stress and or/anxiety. The hormones released cause inflammation and that's another thing to heal, as well as our mouth fighting a bacterial colony. Talk about teeth and share the knowledge!
Thanks SO much. Poverty and limited education are killing people. Hygeine practices can be free and make the dentist visits less expensive, less necessary. I'd only give that advice to someome who literally can't afford a dentist or won't go for whatever reason. Brusha brusha brusha. See a dentist over buying booze and cigarettes for just one week. One time, changed my life... Read. Learn to learn
I am in the same page as you Whitney!!!! Just a wonderful reminder to keep those great cleaning up at home it is so important to take care of our teeth.
Teeth Talk Girl You are more than welcome!!!! I did go for a deep clean today and my gosh that felt so fresh and I told my dentist this and they smiled and said to me back “yes great day for a deep clean!!” Do you know that song from Lovin Spoonful it was from the 1960’s I think but it is “what a day for a day dream dream in about my bundle of joy!!” Well, I was thinking as I sat in the chair today changing the lyrics to the song. “What a day for a deep clean thinking about those beautiful teeth” yea. As a musician I am changing the words to songs and making them dental related and about teeth!!! So as we say together Peace,,, love and teeth!!!!
Hi!! I recently just was told by my hygienist she recommends me to get a deep cleaning . Can u please make me feel better about how does ROOT scaling not damage the tooth? That’s really what I’m worried about 😩
Totally great question! Luckily, the instruments we use are not as strong as your teeth. So, your teeth actually dull our instruments over time. The instruments are designed to only remove plaque and tartar - keeping the tooth itself safe. Hope that gives you a piece of mine!
@@TeethTalk Hi I just have a question but if you collect All the teeth you lose over the years & when you need dentures (if you live that long🙏) can they make a set with them? Weird thing to ask I know but I have grown quite attached to them.
If you are experiencing gum disease please consult with a periodontist. I waited too long and ended up getting a bone graft and sinus lift in order to get implants which I had to take out a medical loan. Please do not try to repair gum disease on your own 😟
couldn't agree more. thank you for this comment. as said in the video - going to the dentist/periodontist is always the number one answer! sending positive vibes your way!
Teeth Talk Girl thanks I got through the surgeries and now have implants. I just want people to know get treatment early because it will save you money and your oral health in the long term.
During Covid, I stopped seeing the dentist. And I think I got a bit depressed too because I just couldn’t be bothered to brush my teeth everyday. Last year I started vaping after my dog died and I went to the dentist in October for the first time. I went on my own cuz I’m 16 and I didn’t want my mum there (she doesn’t even know I went) and my dentist told me I had gum disease. He didn’t say which type but I was booked in the next day to have my teeth cleaned. At first I thought it was gingivitis but now I think it’s periodontitis. The dentist that cleaned my teeth didn’t do much to be completely honest and I’ve been brushing twice a day, flossing and I’ve been using special tooth paste and mouthwash made for gum disease and my teeth are still getting worse! They booked me in for another dentist appointment in April!!! As if they didn’t even care to book me in a few months or weeks later to see how I was getting on.
I had a tooth that felt a liiitttllleeee teeeeennnnyyyyyy loose a couple days ago, and I went to the dentist two days later. They told me that everything was fine when it came to the looseness and it was completely normal at my age (I’m 14). But they said that I had slight gingivitis, but it was in the very early stages and still treatable at home just by brushing and flossing. Got an electrical toothbrush and some floss picks, even started using apple cider vinegar, since my dad said it’d really help out. Watching this video really helped me calm down and reassure myself that everything was gonna be alright. Thank you very much for this, and I’ll definitely improve as I go along! And as for the loose tooth, my dentist said that I’d need to go see an orthodontist to talk about straightening them, as I said that a couple other teeth were really bothering me since they’ve been getting in the way of eachother, and it’d be nice if you could link me a video of tooth straightening or something along those lines, thank you!
so happy to hear this! thank you for sharing!!! wishing you the best on your continued dental care :) as for the braces video - the only one I have right now is a dental cleaning on a patient with braces - hope you enjoy :) ua-cam.com/video/yw7RWA4hav4/v-deo.html
recession and sensitivity videos coming this fall!!!! try try try to be gentle on your gums and always use a soft toothbrush. pitting comes in many shapes and forms - sometimes yes it can be bonded - sometimes we maintain what you have. ask your dentist to evaluate yours to find out. hope this helps! thank you for watching :)
@@TeethTalk glad to hear that. I just had the laser surgery with two extractions. I’m still having pains when chewing. Im on a strict regiment , and I’m waiting for a water flosser with xylitol that I just ordered. I’ll do that twice a day. And also ordered OraMD . @@stevegioe7309 excellent to hear you're going well! I'm halfway through DCRP myself atm, and my next appointment is at 2:30 today! And the "wish I did this sooner" thoughts. But hey, it's been soooo educational and inspirating me to help others be proactive. Awesomeness about becoming a dental assistant! Ive been looking into the same thing 😊🙃 The industry needs more people who can be compassionate and generous with giving information. Deep diving into educating myself about my (our) body has given me so much more empowerment with my hygiene and treatment decisions. I don't feel so hopeless/helpless, doomed, so I actually take better care of myself than turning in the other direction. Hot tip# My dental assistant gave me a blanket for the lengthy process and held my hand cos she saw me pinching myself during the needle.... Sooooo comforting! Stress hormones are not cool during treatment or the healing process. I better get ready! Good on you!! I actually love that I get to see the periontist every three months. I feel supported. And I actually love the feeling of the cleaning 🙃😅 so satisfying ! All the best to you!! So proud of us 😍
I just found out 2 months ago that I have periodontitis, but I am still at a loss on how I go it in the first place without seeing any signs. I have always bushed, flossed, and used mouthwash twice a day everyday. No gum soreness, bad breath, or any other symptom from what I could tell (I don't smoking either). My family history has pretty bad oral health, and that's why I took so much extra care. And yet, I get the surprised of having quite a few deep gum pockets! I'm at a loss.......
I’m getting tested for periodontitis in a weeks time and from my own research, this condition is genetic. It can also manifest and worsen due to stress, depression, grief, certain medications, hormones etc…
Second opinion. I've been on a dentist merry go round for 4 years. Hear sensitive teeth, nothing wrong to OMG need to pull them. Every dentist says something different. I feel some bone and all gum grafts is what seeing the X-rays and knowing my teeth. I need and an implant for the loose tooth. I think too many scalings for money ruined my gums. Each time more pain and more recession. All that money wasted. They don't even look and say I need a scaling. 30 years of this. I think I'm taking the wheel now. Enough. Be straight with me or out the door again. Loose tooth and 12 gum front or backs need to be dealt with some can wait til insurance covers some more. Think I got mostly barely passed dental school dentists.
Also it's encouraging Not to take Sugar, it's not only contageous but truly addicting. Pastries, candies, sweet Sodas to eliminate with consuming more fresh fruits and vegetables. To choose mountain water, over canned sugary sodas. I believe Sugar to be harmful to your gums as well. Enjoyed your video very much. Take good care

People, oil pulling once a day is super effective. It visibility removes tartar within a week. A jar of coconut oil costs 3.50. Swish a teaspoon every night for 15 minutes before brushing, the results are actually incredible.
I brush daily, but my teeth are falling out, I’m almost positive that my gums are receeding, and some teeth are showing some black around the gum. I’m also under 30, so age isn’t really a factor either.
Oh man my teeth lol I definately need alot of work done on them thats what I get for slacking my dental appointments now I'm making it to all of my dental appointments from here on out lol
Hi Whitney, while the regular dental scaling and polishing done by a professional dentist does effectively remove tartar and plague visible on surface of the tooth. But can I also ask if there any other effective ways to strengthen our teeth especially those filled ones to combat against periodontal diseases (investing on a good toothpaste and flossing twice a day)? And on that same note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing such insightful knowledge and useful tips about caring and maintaining healthy teeth.
Using high doses of vitamin C (2000mg per day) and Vitamin K2 (mk4) will help reduce the amount of plaque build up on your teeth. I have reversed gum disease with this. I also brush, floss, and waterpik daily.
I want to start out by giving thanks to you for such an informative video. I used to think that gingivitis was just another word for bad breath. I would like yours or anyone savvy’s perspective on a scenario that I’m currently dealing with: I got braces about 8 months ago. The orthodontist who gave me braces warned me that I needed to take extra care of my teeth as it would be MUCH more difficult to do so with all the food that gets trapped with braces installed. I did take great care at first, but got really slack with my dental routine. About two weeks ago, I started to notice my gums would bleed easily when brushing. I ignored it because I thought it was just a thing with my braces and it would go away but it didn’t. Some areas of my gums were very painful at the slightest touch. I saw my ortho a couple of days ago, and he was able to see the inflammation. He asked me when the last time I had a dental cleaning was. I told him I didn’t remember. He then asked me about my dental routine and I told him that I was only brushing my teeth in the morning (yikes i know..I’m going through things please don’t judge 😆). He told me that I needed to have a cleaning preferably within a month and tighten up on my dental routine. He also told me that since it’s the inflammation is minor, that it would more than likely go away within two weeks if I brushed preferably after every meal, flossed at least twice a day and mouth-washed with salt water at least 4 times a day. He ended by saying that I still need to schedule a cleaning even if it clears up just to be sure that I’m 100% in the clear. Is there anything else you’d recommend? It’s been 3 days since I’ve followed this routine and the bleeding/sensitivity has gone down greatly.
@@rimurutempest1279 They didn’t gave me an answer but as for me I cured it by brushing my teeth twice to third time a day with a soft toothbrush, flossing my teeth twice a day, but also using a strong mouthwash for 2 weeks I think if I remember well, it was one that was specially to treat gingivitis. After a month it was already better! Now I don’t have this problem anymore. If you do have gingivitis I would recommend seeing the dentist tho and ask what they would recommend. But if you can’t at the moment I do recommend brushing + flossing + a good mouthwash for the time being ! Good luck and I hope everything will go well for you ! 😁
@@sharonm8236 Hello!! No I don't mind at all, it was a mouthwash called "Hextril" which is a pretty popular brand here in Europe for that kind of problem. If you live somewhere else then I think any strong mouthwash would do the job, you can look up on internet what kind of mouthwash are the best for gingivitis in your area! Wish you the best!! :D
Be careful cleaning your teeth too. Some people actually cause there own gum disease through not doing their dental hygiene routine probably. Heck, I just found out you're not really supposed to rinse after brushing. And be careful flossing because you can damage and loosen your gums that way too. Then that can lead to other issues.
@@JNoMooreNumbers Duh, you not supposed to just gulp it down.😂 Just spit what you can out but apparently you're not supposed to rinse. You can mouthwash after about 20 mins.
@@JNoMooreNumbers that’s correct. You can spit it out and use a tongue scrapper to remove excess. It’s best to use toothpaste free of fluoride though. Here are a few brands: Feed Your Good Guys (created by dentist), Rise Well (created by a dentist), and Boka. There’s actually a lawsuit going on right now for fluoride.
I don't trust the dentist I saw. I have gum swelling all the time yet she said my teeth are normal & she doesn't understand why I have swelling. She did some sort of cleaning and asked me to come back after 6 months, not the 4-6 weeks you mentioned
Right I was telling the dentist people that there is a foul smell coming from mouth and I was like I don't know what it is. They was ignoring me theady was like just floss brush and use mouthwash like that's what I'm doing but like what's the issue they never checked on my teeth or gums im currently looking for a new dentist
What sucks is I just went back to the dentist recently to fix an old filling that came out and he tells me "Your trays are in so we can send you home with it." Nobody even told me I had gum disease. I had multiple molds done for bridge fitting so I didn't question the extra mold. He forgot to tell me WHY. So I just got told out of nowhere I have to put these stupid trays on my teeth EVERY DAY for the rest of my life. It's like holding a rubber dog toy in your mouth and trying not to drool everywhere for 20 minutes. I'm still struggling to grasp this.
I didn't trust my last dentist who was always pushing cosmetic procedures which I continually declined. I have a good oral routine. I do trust my hygienist. (I'm in the UK under a NHS plan which is geared more towards preventative care). Hygienists here work on private (paid) treatment. She disagreed with my dentist's treatment plan and gave me a regular cleaning, which she has done 3 times a year (because that's what I prefer and not because of clinical necessity) for at least the last 8 years. He doesn't work there anymore paradoxically.
okay so i’m 20. when i was growing up, my mom never really told us (sister and i) to brush our teeth. i developed a bad habit of just not brushing them for extensive periods of time. i’ve had very bad depression for most of my life and recently got diagnosed with BPD as well and i find it very hard to brush my teeth and i’ve gone months without doing so and then whenever i do my gums bleed. just did it again tonight after a while and there was more blood than i thought there would be and i’m afraid i might have periodontitis. i haven’t seen the dentist in 2 years i think and there’s a 4 or so month wait on an appt. i’m going to start taking good care of my teeth now but i’m afraid i’m gonna be toothless and ugly. i wanna blame my mom but i can only blame myself now for letting it get this bad. i also vape a lot. idk what to do til i see a dentist besides brush twice a day and floss even tho idk how to floss.
Im basically the same, breaks between brushing (school holidays and weekends) and before I only used to brush my teeth once a day, but my gums don’t bleed as much
Thank you for the information from the UK and a sufferer, but I am doing everything what you stated except dental visits due to covid,so I brush day and night with everything you mentioned.
I recently discovered, subscribed and love your channel Whitney! You’ve already really inspired me to up my dental hygiene game significantly. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help with. I currently use a Philips DiamondClean Sonic toothbrush - would you recommend a round head oscillating toothbrush over a sonic? The Waterpik brand is fairly new in Europe - I currently use a Philips Airfloss but would like to upgrade to Waterpik - of their range, which would you recommend for gum health? Thanks so much! ♥️

Hiii Whitney. Just wanted to say really appreciate your videos and are definitely the most fun, vibrant and explanatory teeth videos on UA-cam. I was wondering if I could grab some advice from you. I was diagnosed 2months ago with gingivitus and received cleanings with my hygienist. I'm not due to visit him again until October. However a gum area around one of my teeth always has an incredibly foul smell when I floss every night. I've tried water flossing daily too but nothing seems to help. Any ideas on what I could do to get rid of this? 😇😇 xx
i have gingivitis and my gums have receded but my dentist never suggests professional cleanings! he told me how to do proper home care and literally said to me 'i don't have time to clean your teeth right now', and then told me to come again to the dentist in the summer holidays - 6 months away. I'm so scared my teeth will become loose within the next 6 months - I'm only 18 and i want to keep all my teeth but my dentist doesn't seem to share the sense of urgency i feel :( (I'm an nhs patient)
Please see a different dentist and keep yourself educated about orao hygeine and diet! If you smoke or drink, take extra care. Best don't do it, but I'm 36 and I know that's not how the healing process happens lol. "Do this do that". ... Get a clean every 6 months while U have inflammation and then once a year. That dentist who "doesn't have time for your clean".. I had one of those, I reckon he wanted me to have problems for his our benifit. Dentists fix teeth. Periodontists do gums and bone health. Different specialist see? If they don't refer you to each other there's something suspicious or lazy going on. Stress and anxiety casue inflammation and that makes it harder for your body to work against the bacteria colony. That's when we start eating away at bone. Please live a live you choose and choose your health. Choose you. Even if that means quitting a job or breaking up with someone. Don't let others BS stress you out. It is YOUR LIFE
I wasn’t told what’s I have but that’s I need a deep cleaning. I wish I’d been giving more info. Still thinking of getting a new dentist. Cuz I like a dentist that’s tells me everything
Whitney, hope to hear from you. I had a SRP last April, since then I’ve been on a 3-month maintenance. But since November 2021, I noticed the black triangles on my top front teeth. I feel like they are getting bigger 😭 I’m trying to get an appointment with a periodontist but won’t be able to come in until March. I’m so worried.
@Emelia ASMR How did it go?
Same
I’ve been dealing with depression for like 5 yrs now so I can completely relate with slacking on the daily routine activities such as brushing your teeth.
Same with me. Depression.

Depression messed me up.
Now I feel like this is the end.
I just regret not knowing how important it was until now
How are things going for you now?
I'm lucky I live here in scotland, They have made all dental care free for under 26's and soon everyone will have it free. I really feel for Americans and all other countries that have to fork out stupid amounts of money for dental care, or just health care in general.
@@akooma3694 NHS dental care only goes so far though. I heard that a dentist (NHS) gets paid the same for an extraction as they do for performing a root canal, guess what gets done more often? ngl feeling a little betrayed by my dentist for not telling me how to treat my gingivitis x
thank u so much teeth lady
Thank you 🙏🏻 🙌🏻👍🏻

I have a gum disease right now and it hurts so much. I'm 24.
Same here 😢 with exactly same age
Did you fix it
Food always get stuck under the gums of my molars.
How? Do you eat food like fruit etc...?
I suffer from periodontitis & I got hope 😊👍

I'm fairly sure I have some form of gum disease or gingivitis and I have noticed some of my front teeth are slowly loosening if i pull at them

Gum Care Powder has made my gums less sensitive and more robust. I highly recommend it for anyone with gum issues.
It's been 2 month since your comment, were you able to cure it ? And if so how long did it take
@@danieldiaz4084 it’s been 4 months since your reply, we’re you able to find out if they cleared it? And if so how long did it take
@@rimurutempest1279 They didn’t gave me an answer but as for me I cured it by brushing my teeth twice to third time a day with a soft toothbrush, flossing my teeth twice a day, but also using a strong mouthwash for 2 weeks I think if I remember well, it was one that was specially to treat gingivitis. 😁
@@danieldiaz4084 hi!! what kind of mouth wash / brand did you use if you don’t mind me asking? (ik its been 5 months but im fr doing through it rn )
My question is how tf an im suppose to afford any of this when none of this is covered 😐
Correct! Rinsing removes the minerals that’s supposed to be applied via toothpaste. We must remineralize through food, trace minerals, and toothpaste.
Not supposed to swallow fluoride though.
Hell yeah! Educate! Love your vids. Thank you 🙂
Good information as usual
How long have you been a dental hygienist?
thank you!!! since 2015 :)
I have this tired of living 😢
Me: never had a cavity
Also me: has a connective tissue disorder that gave me gum disease
I don't trust the dentist I saw. I have gum swelling all the time yet she said my teeth are normal & she doesn't understand why I have swelling. She did some sort of cleaning and asked me to come back after 6 months, not the 4-6 weeks you mentioned
Right I was telling the dentist people that there is a foul smell coming from mouth and I was like I don't know what it is. They was ignoring me theady was like just floss brush and use mouthwash like that's what I'm doing but like what's the issue they never checked on my teeth or gums im currently looking for a new dentist
Thank you so much I was so scared luckily I had and early stage
What sucks is I just went back to the dentist recently to fix an old filling that came out and he tells me "Your trays are in so we can send you home with it."
Nobody even told me I had gum disease.
Get a new dentist. They’re supposed to tell you why you need the things.
I like the way how you moved and smile, you're so beautiful Doctora. keep it up
I've been in braces for almost 10yrs from now and now i have this decease ☹️ sadt
okay so i’m 20. when i was growing up, my mom never really told us (sister and i) to brush our teeth. i developed a bad habit of just not brushing them for extensive periods of time. i’ve had very bad depression for most of my life and recently got diagnosed with BPD as well and i find it very hard to brush my teeth and i’ve gone months without doing so and then whenever i do my gums bleed. just did it again tonight after a while and there was more blood than i thought there would be and i’m afraid i might have periodontitis. i haven’t seen the dentist in 2 years i think and there’s a 4 or so month wait on an appt. i’m going to start taking good care of my teeth now but i’m afraid i’m gonna be toothless and ugly. i wanna blame my mom but i can only blame myself now for letting it get this bad. i also vape a lot. idk what to do til i see a dentist besides brush twice a day and floss even tho idk how to floss.
Im basically the same, breaks between brushing (school holidays and weekends) and before I only used to brush my teeth once a day, but my gums don’t bleed as much
did it get better? x
@@hollow2094 mine has, just need my parents to book me a dentist trip
gums luckily heal very fast. after flossing and brushing for a few weeks you’ll see, you bleed less and less! i hope everything worked out for you
Thank you for the information from the UK and a sufferer, but I am doing everything what you stated except dental visits due to covid,so I brush day and night with everything you mentioned.
Periodontist disease
Unfortunately, I got it.
Thanks sister for this information
Her giving me this bad news while smiling makes me nervous lol
😂😂😂
Could you do a Q & A on why dental work is so expensive?
That's a great video topic! I'll add it to my list of videos :)
Teeth Talk Girl yes I’m curious too! Great topic ;)
Because years of training and expertise people need to be paid for their work.
Learned a lot from this video thanks
thank you for watching!
Awsome video very helpful cz I am a 3rd year student which helps me see clinical aspect
Love your videos 💓
So happy to hear that! Thank you for watching! Sending you positive study vibes :)
@@TeethTalk Tq 😍 much needed study vibes during this quarantine cz I have my final for 3rd year as this quarantine ends🤞
I’ve got some areas of my mouth that have red gums AHHHHH. I have a cleaning in two weeks!
One week left!!
@@faithfulsoul4432 Actually it’s tomorrow!!! I’m a little nervous bc my parents aren’t going to be with me but I’m also a little excited?!?
Hey so how did it go??!
@@faithfulsoul4432 ahhh so I had gingivitis yes. And she told me to come back in a month. It was good tho because now my gums are healing. I also have to go to an orthodontist soon because I have an impacted second molar not fun. Have no idea what’s going to happen but I’m scared that I might need to get surgery or something. Ye so wish me luck!
@Mario Saldana Ya so update! I got braces on the top now and my baby tooth is removed so eventually they’ll put in bottom braces to close the gap and bring out my impacted molar. I don’t have gingivitis anymore I think so yay!
Excellent information. How long can gingivitis heal?
2 weeks but I recommend going to the dentist to ensure
Any good mouthwashes that can be used between those 3-4 month cleanings? For someone with periodontitis.
5 stars on this, thx much
Thanks for nice upload
Guestion... I have/had a hidden gum infection for the past 3 years with the 7 symptoms... i have a gum boil that dentists are saying its nothing but I'm really suffering
😇😇 xx
Same here . Did u remove the teeth
RIP your TEETH OUT
i have gingivitis and my gums have receded but my dentist never suggests professional cleanings! he told me how to do proper home care and literally said to me 'i don't have time to clean your teeth right now', and then told me to come again to the dentist in the summer holidays - 6 months away.
It is YOUR LIFE
Really great advice. You must be a counselor or related profession. 👌 👌
I wasn’t told what’s I have but that’s I need a deep cleaning. I wish I’d been giving more info.
Still thinking of getting a new dentist. Cuz I like a dentist that’s tells me everything
There would come a time when Dentistry = Whitney🍎.
Amazing job!
☮️💓😬
Not sure what this means but I love it!!! Thank you for always commenting kind :)
Whitney, hope to hear from you.
I had a SRP last April, since then I’ve been on a 3-month maintenance. But since November 2021, I noticed the black triangles on my top front teeth. I feel like they are getting bigger 😭
I’m trying to get an appointment with a periodontist but won’t be able to come in until March. I’m so worried. Do you think those black triangles can be reversed? I’m using interdental brushes to keep those spaces clean. Is that a good thing or not?
Thank you for your advice!
I have gum disease for many years 😭
Thanks you, Whitney for this video. It has been very helpful teaching me about gum disease.
