    took your advice and tried some QYS pellets, WOW! 9.56 gr streamline out shooting my JSBs not by a little but buy a lot, totally converted to these. weighed every pellet in the tin, variation of only .1gr, no bad skirts. out to 55 yards 1/2 groups, can't believe it. total convert.

    I just found this channel thanks to my recommended list and I'm loving it! Wish you didn't have to put up with people that can't understand that just because something is cute and more or less physically harmless to us doesn't mean it can't cause plenty of trouble. Good work, man!

    I shoot spring loaded in canada, god awful run around for over 450 ft, but checking out the anatomy diagrams on rabbits, surprised to see how small the brain is and higher on the skull base than most shots, it seems, i have made heart shots and the rabbit did not move, stone dead, spinal shots of course you know its not hoppin away.great show , great sport, deliver us from the antis,,,,,airgun shooter, and target pistol and rifle are responsible people.

    Good show Mat and good shooting on the bunnies, those pellets are interesting but I wonder if the QC will suffer if they are churned out in their millions if they get popular and are the next best thing, but I like the price but also fear that will hike with popularity for no other reason than greed, hope I am wrong because I will try some domes and see how they fair against the AA fields. keep at it Mat, atb Phil

    Matt, I enjoy your air rifle hunting videos. I would really like to know what kind of Sony scope mount that is and what it would cost. My 10 yr old grandson just got a Sony night vision cam recorder yesterday for his birthday. Looking for a scope mount for it like the one you used in the video scope-cam hunting in the wind. You were hunting rabbits, which is our favorite game to hunt with our air rifles. I will check for a reply periodically, thanks.

    Is it just me, or is that one of the dumbest designs for a pressure gauge ever? You literally have to put your face in front of the muzzle to check pressure... Natural selection at its best I guess!

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  6 років тому +1

      You're absolutely right. I much prefer a gauge on the side or underside of the stock, and it's something I have fed back to manufacturers. Sadly, the front of the cylinder seems to be becoming the industry standard...

    Loved your segment on rabbiting. Lots of useful field craft as usual. You're very skilled and most importantly, patient.
    However, I wasn't very impressed with the chinese pellet section.
    I don't think you can say much about a pellet without trying it in a variety of guns.
    I don't think you can say much more, without a comment about standard deviation values for weight and head diameter.
    It might have been easier to just say that your colleague was testing these pellets thoroughly and to read his article, and just leave it at that.

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  6 років тому +3

      That's a fair point. Different guns would certainly show different performance. Our aim was to show the potential of the pellets shown by my first test with them - and that potential was certainly impressive.

    • @tasmedic
      @tasmedic 6 років тому +1

      Use lead and stick to head shots. If you can't head shot a rabbit with an air rifle, there is a good chance you will badly wound it instead of killing it, which is not a good idea. I've not found any accurate lead free pellets, and they can also wear your barrel out more quickly. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  6 років тому

      As Tasmedic says. Head shots are really the only way to go when shooting rabbits with airguns. Stick to head shots, cut off the heads, and the meat is free from lead.

    Evening Matt, yet another top video. Good to see the PAO. It was the scope I had ruled out as it was too small to add a Nite site Wolf rtec, so I opted for the 4-16 x 56 version as it gives a bit more tube for the mount. Having researched this to death I ruled that out thinking that there was no room for the nite site to attach to the eye relief due to the IR knob. I would value your opinion as to fitment please, before I buy the MTC Cobra at an additional £100. Oh yes, where did you get that hat? (Much better than a baseball cap)

    • @theshootingshow
      @theshootingshow  6 років тому +1

      Hi Dickie.
      I think you're right. Just tried it very quickly in the office, and the IR knob does limit room for the connection collar - the length of the scope also makes it a bit of a squeeze to fit the screen/IR connector on the tube.
      Hat is by Quietwear. I think it is discontinued but they still do a reversible one that's a bit thicker. I'm trying to get another one like mine so would be glad to hear if you do manage to track them down.
      All the best. Mat

    GOING TO HUNT BUGS BUNNY

    I'm from the United States where we have all sorts of hunting. I discovered this show just few months ago and regularly watch this and The Shooting Show. Even though I have a lot of big game to hunt, I have simply fallen in love with the British hunting shows. I didn't realize there was so much hunting over there. Great show and the first thing I usually do is look for this show, right after I check Face Book. Thanks for the show, keep up the good work.

      We're very lucky in the UK. There's a lot of quarry species we can legally shoot and a huge variety too! Yes there are restrictions on the types weapons we can use but that makes the hunting more fun. You have to improve your fieldcraft to plan your hunt and get to that all import kill zone. Skill and patience makes your hunt. 👍

      Really pleased you're enjoying the show.
      We have some great hunting opportunities in the UK. I'm glad to be able to showcase a small part of them.
      Best wishes. Mat

    Entertaining, but the pellet review lacked objectivity. Perhaps a comparison with JSB or the like would have made it feel a little less than an infomercial. I appreciate that the channel has overheads but the popularity and credibility of the show relies entirely on integrity. I trust your opinion, please continue to maintain the standards that have generated such a loyal following.... we’re not daft nor gullible.

      Hi, I think you will start to see a number of comparative reviews of QYS pellets in the airgun mags in the next few weeks which will enhance Mats endorsement

      It seems that your comment has been followed up by another infomercial, this time about airgun magazine.

      tasmedic yeah, you’ve got to chuckle. To be fair UA-cam channels have lots of product placement generally. I shouldn’t grumble, it’s a good show. There are plenty of other examples of independent reviews and insights. I’ve always enjoyed Vermin Hunters and Pontypool Pest Control.

      You make a fair point but there are limitations to what we can do. I made it clear that it was one quick trial with one rifle. The performance would almost certainly change by changing rifles. I could find a gun that shoots best with JSBs and one that shoots best with QYS - the potential to introduce more and more variables to pellet tests is almost endless.
      Best wishes. Mat
