Jenny has such a kind face..heartbreaking...can only imagine her son's pain and horror finding her like that, let alone finding it was a 'friend' that committed this abomination. RIP dear woman.

The ultimate betrayal and all because of jealousy and greed. My heart breaks for David he offered his best self in a so called friendship and he got stabbed in the back the worst way possible.

I can understand it if Jenny was some kind of controlling, dictator mum, but everyone (except for David himself) here testified that she was such a lovely old lady...the kind that "lights the room when she walked in" (as most crime shows describe their victims). Why did he killed her? Why did he make such horrible stories about David, his own best friend? I wonder if David actually knew something, and the story was actually a lot different and deeper than we all thought...
But I will send my condolences and virtual hugs for David. In a way, as an INFP, I feel empathy and related to him. I'm also an only child taking care of my (well, dictator ESTJ) mother, and once got betrayed by the two people I trusted the most in this world: my own (ex) best friend for 24 years and (ex) husband of 12 years. It is almost impossible for me to fully trust anyone ever again. The way David staring to the horizon, looking so haggard with concealed sadness, holding his beloved pet(s), knowing he'll most likely be alone for the rest of his life...is how my friends say I look like too. May you have your peace and happiness, David...

My heart breaks for David. He must've felt like he was stuck in a nightmare. My niece was murdered by her estranged husband in 2008. My friend's 11 yr old child was brutally attacked & murdered in 1997. I can relate to the pain, the loss, the gossip, etc. David's mother certainly didn't deserve to die like that. She suffered at the hands of a monster. We care about you, David. May the Lord Jesus be with you. You can trust Him 💯%.
This documentry really shows how such a brutal crime affects the wider community, her friends and villagers were really affected by this, Hope David has managed to get back some semblance of normality and trust in his fellow humans. ❤

I think he thought Jenny and David were out of the house and intended to rob them but was surprised to find Jenny at home. Not wanting to be caught for the break in, he killed her and left without taking anything hoping that the police would assume it was David. I also think he was responsible for all the other break ins in the area

I grew up in one of these teeny tiny towns (population: 1028, my graduating class was 25) that never locked doors because “nothing ever happens here” and literally everyone knew everyone and many were even related to each other. I always made sure our home and cars were nice and securely locked because nothing ever happens here, until the day it does and I refuse to make it easier on the person who changes the status quo of the town by trying to break in!! 😋

I know how I would feel to, firstly, to lose my mother in such a horrid way, & 2nd, to find out that your "best friend" was the murderer, & THEN, to find out that this "best friend" has now blamed YOU for the murder!! OMG, I cannot even imagine the pain and feeling of loss, dread, betrayal...the list goes on and on....David, if you ever read this, just know that you will always have at least 2 people here, (myself and "Butter"....lol) who are here if you ever need a shoulder to cry on, or just need someone to listen, or a friend who won't betray you. I know it's a very difficult thing to do, especially reliving the horror day after day.. you will grieve always but to a somewhat lesser extent with each year that goes by. Oh wow David must be guilt ridden for bringing in William close to his mother. NOT HIS FAULT!!!! A girl in my cheerleading squad slapped my mom at a fundraiser when I was 14, it took 3 grown men to get me off her. I don't remember even hitting her. How sad this is.
I hope she had a few bruises when they did pull you off. Slapping someone is very insulting (not sure that's the best word but it's the only one that I could come up with.)
It must be a nightmare that the only person you let be close to you murdered your mother. I think after this he can’t trust anyone. Till now I don’t understand the motive, obviously it was not the money, he was jealous of David and his relationship with his mother. He should be having grateful for having such good friends. He should had a life sentence without parole!!! The British justice system to me is very strange, others murdered and raped, got 3 life sentences and got free after 15 years. The British justice system doesn’t serve justice!!!

May the community and her son find comfort and joy when remembering Ms. Jenny. She sounds like she was a lovely lady, and the world was blessed to have her as long as we did. May her son find peace in his heart and know even the ones watching don't think he had anything to do with it. It's sad that her son feels so withdrawn, hopefully he will be able to get together with those that knew and loved his momma, and realize he did absolutely NOTHING to bring this about. It's not your fault David, yes he was your friend, but by no means did your being a good friend and your mom being a loving woman bring about this tragedy. It was the evil in his heart not yours. It hurts alot when someone you think you know and can trust betrays not only you but your loved ones. Then tries to blame it on you, no Mr. David, I think we can all see the swine was talking about himself, drug deals and miscreants. I pray one day you find serenity and peace. By going through the said episode I failed to understand the motive behind this henious crime.This makes me think that one should never trust anybody not even your true brothers and sisters.There have been instances when brother killed brother.But at the end of the day you live in this world and being social animal one has to rely on someone to carry your life.A very sad affair but her son will have to live with it throughout his life.My heartfelt condolences to the breaved family..

I don't think you'd find it that difficult. I'm Scottish and my French teacher told me that Scottish people find learning to speak French is easier than for most others as the languages use similar mouth muscles.

Something to take away from this is dont allow your sons, daughters, or husband's friends in the house if they're not with your relative. I just saw a story where an elderly church going lady was kidnapped beaten and tortured by the church handyman. If they come knocking just dial 911!
You can’t trust anybody really. My son poisoned me when I stayed at his place. He doesn’t think that’s a good reason not to have anything to do with him. As his mother it was devastating, heartbreaking, mind numbing and yes I thought maybe I could still communicate with him but no, I love the child I had but the adult is heartless & capable of anything worse.
