But , if u were born and lived abroad , it's ok to know only the Tunisian dialect but the Standard Arabic is so beautiful too and it's part of our civilisational heritage . I'm so irritated of the French neo-colonialism of Tunisia and the sacralisation of the French language/culture and this pseudo-elitism of the some Francophone Tunisians on the Tunisian soil while they hate and denigrate most of Arabs/Muslims including Tunisians and learning Arabic in France is always considered as "Communautarisme" and non-integration to the society 😔

Hey there! I'm from Tunisia I really enjoyed watching your video about your first trip to Tunisia! It's always fascinating to see someone experiencing a new place for the first time. However, I'd like to share a bit of advice for future visits to Tunisia. Firstly, July can indeed be extremely hot in Tunisia, so it might be a good idea to consider visiting during a slightly cooler time of the year to make the most of your experience without the intense heat. Additionally, it's essential to be cautious with taxi drivers, restaurants etc. While many may seem friendly and helpful, it's unfortunately quite common for visitors to be overcharged 3 times the actual price. you can find friendly Tunisian people to help you no get ripped off 🙂. Also you should visit Djerba, Souse, Hamamet, Bizert, Mahdia ... they have amazing beaches and they're cool places to visit.
I'm Tunisian. I'm so sad that this happened. That is what it is, some people, and there are a lot use that against you to spoil some cash. But, that's said, always avoid people that have such behaviors, from the beginning politely. Tunisia has many very good places to visit and enjoy, from the north to the south. I will happy to share from my own time to make you a one or two days journey, as a friend. If you plan to come one day, let's meet. Enjoy this beautiful country. Cheers
So happy to see you visit a new country and you are doing great with your Arabic, Mabelle did great for sure! Thank you for the happiness you are sharing 😊❤
Cool video! Tunisia is a very beautiful country I bet you enjoyed it. This Summer's heat wave was a one in a lifetime experience, very exceptional. Next time when you arrive take a taxi from the outside of the airport you walk few meters outside and the taxi will cost you less than 1/3 what those arnaqueurs taxi drivers ask.
You’re making a real progress not only on your arabic but on your videos quality too ! Keep it up « khayy » BTW save this word you will need it ; « mrigel » When you want to get ride of someone or something just say « mrigel » 3 times XD And lastly you are welcome to visit Hammamet 🇹🇳
Brother I m Tunisian and unfortunately the taxi driver scammed you... they do it all the time even to Tunisians because it s too hard to find one there so they use it as an opportunity to charge more by law any Taxi on duty have to work with meter and they can t charge you without it. From the airport to Marsa it s between 10Dinars to 20Dinars or max with some change you can even google it 50dt it s too much to avoid this kind of scammers you can use the app Bolt it s a bit more expensive but still alot cheaper than 50dt
Welcome to Tunisia hope you enjoyed it! There are many underrated and very interesting places beside Tunis you should really give them a go one day! Like Monastir , Sousse , EL jem , Kairaouan , Beja , Tabarka , Ain draham , Tozeur , Douz , ... to name a few

@worldnomac I watched all of your Tunisia videos as part of my prep for a 6 week teaching assignment in Tunis. Loved them all! I just arrived this morning and took a walk through the Medina. I walked through the Bab El Bhar and down the path you went and thought to myself, I wonder if I'll see that Tour guide. No joke, at that same moment the guy just magically appeared out of no where right next to me. It scared the crap out of me ha. He then immediately proceeded to give me the same spiel he gave you. I told him I've heard that all before and we parted ways. Ha crazy....Thank you for your videos!
Good fun and Tunesia looks nice .... The chatty guy knows what scap he is doing ... I travel FT and am super cautious when someone chats me up and is overly friendly ...I went through this in Istambul ...

Im impressed by how your Arabic improved so quickly!!,, I’m a native Arabic speaker from Jordan and could barely understand the Tunisian dialect when i was an exchange student there. Fun fact: in Tunisia u can’t say يعطيك العافيه(ea’ateek el afeih ) cuz it means something totally different than what it means in the levantine Arabic but it seems like the taxi driver understood that ur speaking the Lebanese dialect lol
Sorry brother, but you got ripped off: La Marsa is not far away from the airport and you should have paid way less than 50 tnd. In the beginning, when he knew that you are a UA-camr, he advised you to get a taxi from the 1st floor (those who drop travelers coming to the airport) because he doesn't want to be exposed. Indeed a few like himself wait in the parking so that they scam foreigners who come for the 1st time and sometimes native Tunisians as well, those who aren't aware of that game.
Great video 👍 A message to all tourists don’t talk to stranger on the street. If you need a guide just book one through the website. They have a badge and they won’t take advantage of you. That guy knows exactly what he’s doing take you to his mates shops then get a commission. Don’t be shy. With a smile just say no thank you we don’t need a guide. 53:18 50 Dinars 🙈🙈🙈 That’s very expansive. more like 5 Dinars. Take care and be safe out there. Btw, I’m an Amazigh-British - Tunisian 🇬🇧🇹🇳💪
Mac nearly 700K subs ...tbh I havent caught any of your vids for a good amount of time (Got busy with living :) ) - WTF your Arabic has come on leaps and bounds bro
Great video. Tunisia looks great to visit. I think we were all waiting for the sales push on the rugs, although he accepted no without being too pushy and seems a decent guy. Good to see. The guy with the languages is a super tout
I saw so many nice things in that souvenir/rug shop that I wish they sold where I’m at. Thankfully the rug shop owner was gracious. It was nice of the tour guide to show and name the Turkish mosques and other buildings.
There's a group of touts whose job it is to get people to that shop. I was even approached by one who I'd seen many times in UA-cam videos, he looked shocked when I addressed him by name! I had actually wanted to go to that shop so I could see that view, so when I was first approached by a tout, I asked him to take me straight there. I even got away with paying for his efforts as a tour guide as I asked him to take me to his family's perfume shop, something I was looking to buy anyway! It's all about doing your research beforehand. Oh, and even though those "ruins" on the shop's rooftop may look old, one of the shop workers admitted to me that they were built in 2006! 😂
Yes!! Mac and Harry the legends! So excited for this series. A lot of funny moments in this video. I think I’m eating this wrong, pulls three fish bones out while the president drives by 😂😂
You are welcomeة It's nice of you that you don't try to show the bad aspects of the country Thank you for your taste. Take care of those who speak several languages.
Tunisia is on my bucket list. I look forward to your travels in Tunisia. I appreciate when locals provide information, but I don't like when the expectation is that you must pay them and also be firm to make them go away if they are being too pushy. Mac, when will you return to Pakistan? Your vlogs there were so good. Also, I would love you see you go to Afghanistan. There are a lot of vloggers going there now.
Thank you so much!!🙏 Well, you’re on the right track, Tunisia is the place to be in!! It’s always the best to interact with the locals and get some information!! I’d love to revisit Pakistan and explore Afghanistan soon as well!!❤️

@@CG68810 why we should compare countries and people from here or there? In every place in the world there are bad and good people, that's normal. Most of the people you met are scammers who are only looking for money. My advice to you as a young Tunisian is that next time you want to explore Tunisia, look for a friend of Tunisian origin who will receive you like content creators like you, so that you can greatly enjoy your experience and avoid all kinds of fraud and fraud in Tunisia due to the economic crisis it is going through. It has changed and it is difficult to live there, so most people are looking for any way to earn money. I will not be long, welcome to Tunisia, and I hope you will not be disappointed in us.
The only scammer is the first taxi driver and the drum guy He should run the machine like the second taxi driver and pay only what you see in the number will show up I have a problem with the airport taxi driver every time a go home I like to take taxi from the second floor of the airport no ASCAMER get overd

@@Hassenfeki i mean i like both languages and cultures i don't want any conflict between them but i do find an advantage in tunisia and it is to learn 3 Languages very easily: Arabic, French and English (and if you study in French schools even Spanish is a thing you learn)
But i do agree with you that the arabic language is a very rich language.
Why would you question the beauty of Tunisia! Such a beautiful little gem❤ greetings from an Algerian 😊

@luvss6039 Sorry if I offended you or anyone, what I meant by little gem has nothing to do with the size of the country or its rich history, we all know that and nobody denies, no need to be too sensitive, my comnent was from the heart with no intention to offend anyone. Salam

Even if he is Tunisian these are the usual taxi prices thats why we always say never take a taxi in the airport go out to the street and take a taxi
So, in fact, he wasn't robbed since these are the actual airport taxi prices

Cheers

Thank you so much for this tip!!

No joke, at that same moment the guy just magically appeared out of no where right next to me. It scared the crap out of me ha. He then immediately proceeded to give me the same spiel he gave you.

Thank you so much for watching!!
