Thank goodness for your video. I returned my device for a replacement because it wouldn't turn on. Despite me sending photos of my setup, etc., Ottocast technical support never once said I was supposed to power it on the Type C end of the device. I thought the replacement device was also broken. It's working now, but only thanks to your video.

Thank you for doing this video. I was looking for the basic home interface (outside of the carplay / android auto). If you do run netflix, meaning you enable wifi hotspot from your phone, and then suddenly need to go for Carplay (say to navigate), do you just directly run the carplay option and your phone will also seamlessly change modes? Or do you have to disable the wifi hotspot etc etc.?
You shouldnt have to untether to go into carplay. Simply go back as I showed and you are good to go. The module should automatically swith to carplay functions.

I have the P2V unit, and worked great on my Samsung Note20. I just got the new S23, and can't get it to work good at all. Got to work a couple times but never in a row without messing with settings. I upgraded the firmware, now can't get to work at all for Maps etc. I can still use the netflix/youtube with my hotspot, but not the actual Maps/Spotify etc. Any thoughts?
I would rest the unit and make sure to unpair/forget it from your new phone.

Will ottocast work on a 2016 silverado that did not come equipped with airplay on android auto from the factory
No, ottocast does not add android auto/carplay to factory radios that do not come equiped/made for it. What it does is makes a wired connection wireless. Your car needs to have it already.
@@esqu3l3to my vw polo has app connect but it needs activation from main dealership, will it still work????
@mmotorsport8293 it will work as long as the dealer activates your oem radio for carplay/android auto. Make sure that your oem radio is capable so they dont charge your for nothing.
Once it has been activated and you confirm it works wired then you can get yours to make it wireless.
I have a Nissan maxima. The car play works great but I can’t apps for netflix UA-cam etc…..what am I missing? Also I have a iPhone 14
hello, you may have figured it out by now. Anyways, to access netflix, youtube, etc, you cannot be in apple carplay. You need to exit and use the apps side of it. For safety, they dont allow you to have maps and netflix or anything else working at the same time.
