@Shahar Bar thanks for the response! Though I definitely agree it's a firebird shape, this one didn't quite seem Gibson to me. I actually went back to a previous video of his and found out its a Kauer Banshee! Really cool piece of equipment!

I thought so too, but I think motherfucker is doing it intentionally… the attack control seems to be adding a slight delay, especially later in the video when he’s doing swells…

It’s the auto swell. It’s triggered by the the initial transient of the note you play and then swells the volume up so you can hear the guitar. This is why you miss the initial attack of the note and it sounds so smooth. However, the downside is timing. As you don’t here the initial transient of the note it sounds like you missed the beat.
