I GOTTA try this with drum machines, and synths!!! Also, I plan to connect an expression sequencer to it in place of an expression pedal, to create tight rhythmic patterns in time with my MIDI and analog clock synced machines. Got one on the way!!!!!
I've seen so many reviews of this and i was not sold. This complete breakdown and visual demo of how each knob works with is WHY I purchased this pedal and i couldn't be happier. This pedal used with a looper to make funk RnB soul lo Fi style music is PERFECT. Getting an expression pedal for this is a MUST!
Some people on the interwebs are complaining that it is very noisy (I'm assuming some background noise/hiss) and that is difficult to adjust - have you noticed any of these issues?
Thanks Dave. Great demo. This pedal is amazing- received mine on yesterday- a musician can create their own specialized sound recipe due to its flexibility. Truly magical...
When you talked about how you added the blend and compression, I was like "wow, he thought of everything". Then you hit the button beneath that knob. Wow. Brilliant!
I got this pedal for a really good price.. plugged it in expecting a standard autowah and was kind of disappointed with the sounds. But....... After watching this video.. man.. this is so much more than an autowah. Super cleaver design, can't wait to sit down with it again and dial in some things.
Man, I just bought a Mothership 2 yesterday hoping to get THESE VERY SOUNDS out of it. Now I have to sell the thing and wait for this to hit the shelves. Thanks for keeping me filled with pedal gas for the last several years, Dave. My bank account hates you.
I agree! This env filter will give just the right amount of synthyness and flexibility of tone, I expect. The M2 pedal is impressive but too over the top! Maybe if the waves are dialed down to a whisper it might work out. I just ordered the Resotron! I'll wait for a used M2 perhaps. 😇
@@ricoboogie2086 You did just say that, didn't you! Ima wait until I try the Resotron first! I'm kind of in your camp with the monophonic synth tone feel.
I gave up trying to control my mouth and keep it still. Instead I've chosen to actively make crazy faces when playing, really live the stereotype of the slug playing star. LOL.
These things got a real bad reputation and they quickly cut the price and I’m pretty sure it’s out of production. I just got one used for $80 and think it’s a steal but I see why so many bad reviews. It’s a brilliant design but the controls are not very user friendly. It takes some time to figure out the controls but once you get acclimated it can do anything other filters can do and much more. When I first plugged it in I literally thought it was broken because it sounded so terrible(oscillation was on), but with some time and tweaking I fell in love with the sounds.
Wherever you like: it sounds very synthy after stacked distortion, or you can use it in the traditional wah position, straight out of the guitar. I use it on my bass: I use as a"synth" and it's usually in tracking mode, giving a deep, sine wavey tone. Usually people use an octave pedal, but I like that this is quasi- polyphonic because it filters the actual signal of the instrument. It tracks bass very well. I put it first in my chain and put more compression after, to even out the attack, before adding dirt. I'm about to strip it out of my main board and build a wholly analog synth board around this pedal.
@1:31 - Technically speaking, I would not say Q value is specifically resonance, which you're saying the Peak control is on this box. Traditionally, resonance would be more like a metallic sound (Karplus-Strong, frozen oscillation), such as the 'filter matrix' switch on the Deluxe Electric Mistress. I've also used many different resonator related VST plugins over the years that are not directly associated with Q value or "Peak".
This pedal goes beyond what normal pedals can do, so lots of noobs get lost in it and say it's a hard pedal to program. It's easy if you stay in the lower side of the parameters.
I bought this pedal as the deal of the day on Sweetwater, POC, do not buy couldn't get any of the filter tones, basically doesn't even work now, money thrown away do not buy

Why is this not known more? This is absolutely cleverly designed pedal!!!

Just got this today for $69 brand new at Guitar Center! In store, not online. I am yet to explore this.
A surprisingly amount of flexibility for such a small set of controls. Nicely done, Dave! I'm impressed.
Some of the best stank face to be found anywhere on UA-cam
The coolest pedals ever! I’ve been sleeping on Pigtrronix but recently purchased the Mothership 2 and it’s tons of fun! Love it!
Thanks Dave.
Great demo.

The hands down best filter pedal out there! 😎🎸🤘
Dave,
Outstanding video. Your demonstration convinced me to purchase this pedal!!. Thank you. I am looking forward to using it when it arrives.

Was not expecting to hear 'In walked Bud' on a g-tar pedal demo. Niiice
Best demo of this pedal I’ve seen.
Top freakin notch. I love my envelope phaser 2, but man, for envelope sounds, this might be even better. Great job guys!

Love the pedal- and the finger cracks midway through!
Funny thing is my face was going crazy just watching you play brother 😂. Amazing pedal man, 👏 wow! I'm going to get one!
this guy rules and so does this pedal
Opening with Monk! Brilliant
Thanks, I was trying to place that familiar melody 😂
Great demo of a seemingly rad pedal. Nice one, Dave. Amusing expressions at points of this one too :D
@7:55 man that's one of the best wah faces iv'e ever seen :)
Great design! Glad to have ordered one today.

Although I will say that the secret to great synth tones is *detuning* the voices relative to each other.
Use this pedal with the M2.

LOL.
excellent outro
Great demo, great pedal!
Great thorough demo and neat sounding pedal
On my list to buy used.Another guitar, another rig!
In Walked Bud! Caught me off guard, nice.
The best envelope follower since the venerable Mu-Tron lll IMHO..!
Mine is being delivered today!!! YAY!!
Fantastic

With an expression pedal this in band pass mode is the best wah I’ve ever played.
Innovative!
Interesting. How does it play with Mothership2? Its simile. Use one.
This is seriously cool. Nice work.
He's cracking his knuckles as he explains the pedal! Lol
Ty for great demo
Magic
Great vid Dave: you sold me... bot one today!
How does it work with dirts?
Where would one place this pedal in their signal chain?

Duuuuuude, nice!
Its a cool pedal, but difficult to learn and the response changes dramatically when you change guitars.
It's very fitting that a pedal that sounds like porn has a glide knob.
This is second only to the mutron and I think I like this mor
