@@ReptilianLaserbeam That's great to hear. I also love the Joe & Mac games. I have Congo's Caper, but never played it. It's definitely one that I would like to play some day. I'm just SO backed up with games that I never get around to playing a lot of them.
I may be confused or misremembering but I think there's a better ending in which Joe and Mac have girlfriends. Not exactly sure how to get it but I think it's got to do with winning the flowers game.
I owned both games as a kid. I always thought even then that the first game was more impressive on a technical level (graphics, sound), and watching both on this channel only proves that true. For example, compare the volcano level in both games. There's no comparison.
Tip: To defeat Gork's first phase, wait until he's jumping to attack, then dash away from him! To defeat his second phase, while he's spinning, dash under him carefully, then when he stops, hit him!
Tip : Get close to him and beat IT without rest a second.. He Will covered but Will received damage when intends to do something. thats all.. Not 100% sucess chance but when you get IT IT would really worth IT
I can't help but feel that while this game definitely improved some stuff from the original, there's a bit of charm, for lack of a better word, that's lsot
@@NoWhereToRun22 The only thing that seems different is that the gameplay seems a bit slower, and there's actually a serious plot. They tried to push the game further.
I don’t remember anything about this game compared to the first one which I remember well, except for the T. rex boss in the fire/volcano level blowing fiery boogers at you
I dunno, this game just doesn’t hit like the first one. It has aspects that I can appreciate, like beautiful sprites and interesting level design, but the whole thing otherwise just feels lackluster. The bosses are not challenging, and it feels like the game tries to be many different things at once, but is just mediocre. The ending is pretty underwhelming, too.
Not unless you count the arcade game: "Joe and Mac Returns" technically "Lost in the Tropics" is named "Joe and Mac 3" in some areas, due in part "Congo's Caper" was named "Caveman Ninja 2" for some odd reason.

Wow... this looks terrible compared to the original. The music, most of the artwork and animations, the sound effects, enemy and boss design, level design, etc. have gotten worse... the rpg elements and collection of stones doesn't seem to add much especially compared to the charm lost from the original SNES version. Also, the text boxes really got on my nerves for some reason. The only mechanical improvement was the ability to ride baby dinosaurs. I wonder if they were rushed or underfunded?
Lmao what? Have you actually even played the first one? Note that this channel has a playthrough of the first game as well and you couldn't be more wrong. I miss these old types of games, so simple, but so much charm to them it's unreal
I played this when I was a kid. nostalgic!

Love the cameo appearance of Congo (from Congo's Caper) at 26:35.
He's also in the old man's house at the beggining of the gsme.
Congo's caper was amazing. My daughters were asking which games did I play as a kid and I showed them Joe and Mac, and Congo's caper, they loved them

I never get tired from watching this gameplay. I just love the "Shhpaarr!" sound the dinosaurs make lmao

Joe & Mac 2 eu já terminei o jogo e é sempre bom relembrar
Joe & Mac 2 I've finished the game and it's always good to remember
Nah more color and better sounds quality and music in part 2
The first one was closer to capturing that arcade feel.
There was obviously a reason why I never played the 2nd one.
insane opinion lol

They added this to the Super NES - Nintendo Switch Online game app.
I’m glad to see that I didn’t imagine this game when I was a little girl
The original arcade is nice if you havnt seen it.
Is there no save function in this game? Will dying make you lose the stones you've collected/progress?
If you talk to the first woman in tiki village, she gives you a password based on how many stones you've gotten
Ooh, thanks.
Welcome to your doom? I wonder if Gork is friends with the main villain of Altered Beast.
I thought the same! Transforming into a mammoth could have been awesome. Of course, Gork looks like he's already halfway there
Fun game! Too bad there was no adoption of this game on Sega. Only the first game.
