This looks trash, the final boss was a winged devil in the original, this Frankenstein caveman replacement is a joke. So sad when I discovered this and saw similarities with the original I had hoped it would be closer to the classic in boss battles recreation and gameplay.... Mabey if it goes on sale for $10 but definitely not $30 worth.
I’m really glad they remade this classic but unfortunately I’m not loving the art direction they went with. It’s lost a lot of the charm of the original artwork.
For some really good art direction look at Wonder Boy: Dragon’s Trap. They kept the look of the original just sharpened it up and stylized it a bit. This looks like an entirely different game from the original Joe & Mac
I think this new style is interesting with the graphics. Although it is good I still prefer the graphics and music of the original Joe Mac 1 and 2 for the SNES. This kind of feels like a flash game, or a mobile phone type game. It is a good design, but I think there are some things as a fan I think they could have done better with the music in the game and the character villains that seem to be far different then the one's from the original game with the plants and T-Rex which feel more animated with their aesthetic design. It is very good, not bad but not perfect. They could still improve the music, graphics and design with some polishing elements which made the original games amazing@@goofydufus
It's interesting how the Genesis version is more arcade accurate (albeit much shorter) than the SNES version. The SNES one is more like Mario World with the area map, keys, and the like. The "Extend Mode" is where New Joe and Mac really shines, IMO. BTW you can actually get the download for the original arcade Joe and Mac for like $5 as well. It's one of the few arcade games I have 1-cc'd. @tephenroth8073
I recently got mines on the Switch for 25 bucks because it was on sale on digital. Great game I love it as a kid I been playing Joe & Mac on the Super Nintendo and actually beat it all on my own. One thing about this new version of Joe & Mac, it's okay they need to put more sound effects and voices maybe Joe's and Mac's voice needs to be high up on volume to hear it clearly though. Which needs to be updated for those issues, the gameplay is okay just the sound effects and voices needs to be updated.
The cave girls in this reboot are not as attractive as the ones from the original, but it's still fun to have a lot of girls want to be with their hero.
It looks fine enough I guess but they really should have added more levels for that crazy price tag. I’d get it if it were on sale for $5 or something but not for the $25+.
For all of the negative comments. This is actually based on the ORIGINAL arcade vsrsion. The SNES version was a travesty. Also, the game is actually really hard. This dude makes it look easy. Trust me, it isn't.
@@wspencerwatkinsAgree completely. And the SNES version wasn't a travesty either. It was an early SNES game and a little choppy. More ambitious than this crap.
I grew up with the original Joe & Mac on Snes. I still play it. Let me tell you - This "remaster" is an insult. It made my day worse to discover that this even exists. Go watch a longplay of the snes version, and you will see. If you can go play it yourself. Don't buy this... please.
this is the most disappointing game in a long time, the graphics look ugly, the gameplay is butchered, the difficulty is way too unbalanced and the content is lackluster, we waited for over 20 years for a new Joe & Mac and this is the best they can give us? A cheap, shovelware title that costs 40$?
18 mins is pretty short for a £25 game. I'm guessing this was made by the same people who did the Toki remake. They should've did what Tengo Project are doing with older games making them look like the original game but added more animation and detail.
Imaginei que pudessem ter dado uma melhorada na gameplay (movimentação dos personagens) como é remake ter também add fases e boss novos também seria interessante...
What a travesty of a remake. Some of the animation and redesign does look good like the Trex Skeleton but then almost everything else looks like some Mobile game with fake gameplay. The level design not only looks completely untouched but it actually looks like they made the stages EVEN SHORTER. Could be editing as the description says but still. Such a shame. Joe and Mac on SNES was one of my favorite games and I would love to have seen a proper remake that EXPANDED on the original while keeping the appeal of it. This ain't it chief.
Yep. This is a remake of the original game and that one was always super short. For the price tag, they could have and should have added many more levels to this game.
Every games disappointing for every Internet Human. Forget what the graphics look like cause it's better than nothing at all when it comes to *Creative Priorities* Honestly people can't tell when there worrying so much about Content Can't believe they love cliches cause of that
the animation of main character is pretty bad and some charm is clearly missing from the arcade version. stuff like your character screming whenever a boss enters or getting tired if you charge for too long.
The sprite design..... ehhhh looks weird as hell. Can't say I enjoy the new look of the Cavemen Ninjas, change is not always a good thing. The magic just doesn't seem to be there like the original, and those HD sprites, yuck.
@@Дмитрий-т6ш5г I actually bought this today, and you're correct. The "extend" mode is laid out like the Super Nintendo version and is much longer. It's actually quite good.
Can't believe a 18 minute game is $40
There's an Extend mode with much longer levels.
its a shame...the origional game on the snes had more content, extra levels and better bosses... as well as a better ending
59$ Aud for this even this one looks cleaner the Amiga version was better and had better art.

@@ryanoconnell6358The arcade game came first. The devil replaced the final boss likely due to limitations.

A heads up that this is based on the original arcade version of the game. The SNES and other versions are derived from that.
The best parts of the game was the stage overview and being able to find the keys for the secrets and special mini stages.. Where did that go??!!
Only on SNES.
@@yuan9304 yeah, I remembered after I hooked up my old school and played it😅
The best part of this game was when I turned it off 10 minutes in

The snes version will always be the best one in my opinion and part 2 on snes was solid too

How much time it took you complete this game at first time
I spent more than 6hrs Still cant complete the game
Kinda a combination of Joe and Mac on the Super Nintendo as well as Bonks Adventure on the old Turbo Grafix 16

Sad to say this looks just slightly better to a mobile phone game. The original is the one gamers should actually be playing.
where can play this famous game i play it on arcade
Did they change the music from the original SNES. ?
this game its based in teh arcade not snes
Im playing the old arcade version.
