Kaizo Mario Bros. 3 is a ROM hack created by the late Obitus1 designed to challenge the most skilled Super Mario Bros. 3 players, just like the Kaizo Mario World games are designed to challenge the most skilled SMW players (we have a published run of the third iteration right here ( tasvideos.org/2317M )).
Naturally, Lord Tom ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/L... ) forgoes most of the challenges proposed in this hack and showcases some interesting strategies for beating the 22 levels in record time.

How do my grandparents describe their lives in the mid 1950's.
They describe it as " Awesome ".
That's just half the journey
I dunno, with words?
Is this even related to the video?
@@PixelYT-ts2fe are you doing a joke
Am I the only one thinking that the Level 2 finish from 1:09 to 1:18 is just perfect in terms of music?
+Azentiger ME TOO DUDE!!
Yes, the 2 songs are in the same scale: C major, plus the tempo in the song and the perfect timing in the TAS gives a perfect sync. I also think about the same.
Yap
I thought I was the only one that noticed that
Azentiger as soon as I heard it, I seen dis comment, you earned a sub
1:12 that timing of the melody was perfect!

50% actually.
40% is HOT GARBAGE.
and the other 10% is levels that are actually fun for everyone to play
Hi will Smith
Love the subtitles. I watch speed runs when I can’t sleep and the subs allow me to keep the volume down 😊
Thank you for saying this. I had to rewatch with CC on but it's much better this way, from the excellent annotations
1:14 perfectly timed finish
almost perfect with the tune

Oh I get it lol!
1:14 perfect melodic timing :)
1:10 the full men XD
*nice*
I'll say
I thought I'd be the only one who appreciated that. You my fellow viewers have fine taste!
Me oil poop l it I'll high 0
Love the subtitles which sort of explain things. Just fantastic, even for a noob like me who doesn't know how SMB3 works under the hood.
0:44 to 1:19 - PERFECT MELODIC TIMING
That’s how it should end.
1:52 perfect melodic finish
8:51 wow! That green flying buzzy beetle is actually an unused object in Super Mario Bros 3!
Well now they are in new super Mario, Bros, U now
Lord Tom is such a blessed name
I was expecting a shaggy dog story at the end, where the princess explodes like a bob-bomb or when the curtain lowers to hear the "mario dies" sound.
omg this is mind blowing. the amount of time i assume was put into this has to be insane. what he's doing is basically impossible for 98% of the normal gaming world. and he makes it look like it's a stroll through the park. dude u are amazing and the best ive seen. fucking flying through the air blindly doing shell jumps i mean my mind is blown. i would guess 6 months 16 hrs a day to do this. salute.
@@yazinxw9559 thats exactly what he was referring too it seems. i would assume this took around a month or 2 put multiple hours (3-4) a day

I love how you’ll never hear more than half the melody in the level themes, it’s all filled with random sounds from the NES.
i didnt realize how useful the captions are until now
Stage 7 was giving me some serious TMNT swimming bomb diffusing PTSD.
Now that I think about it, I think it was based on that level
my grandparents explaining how they got to school
the most amzing mario video I ever watch.Thank you.
You just got a new subscriber, my friend :) This was EXCELLENT!
he did not do the TAS, lord tom did
I would never play this game out of fear that I might have a heart attack.
So, yeah. It was ridiculously unplayable. This might be end up going into seizures a little.
With RetroArch you can rewind the game if you fall or lose
This game is straight up made to people from another universe
How My Parents Said They Got To School:
How do you jump off of vertical walls? Multiple times
If you jump into a wall, sometimes (or rarely) you would clip into the wall. If you jump the right frame you would do a wall jump. Now it's hard, but it's possible to wall jump multiple times by wall jumping off a wall going back a bit then going back to the wall. (The best information I can explain)
怖すぎる。凄すぎる。
手に汗握るってこういう事だな。まさしく神業!

Does it matter in both this or the original one where you hit the endblock in terms of speed? (as in, on the front or at the last possible pixel)
How hard Mario was to me when I was a child
They put the commentary in the cc! What a legend!
5:41 Koopa Pog :O
imagine there were 8 worlds in this, with 19 levels in all of them
Yea RAD dude
Kaizo Land (aka Grass Lands)
Other worlds that were mentioned but were not there
Sand Hills W2
Ocean Side W3
Big Island W4
The Land/Sky W5
Ice Land W6
Pipe Maze W7
Castle of the Koopa (aka Dark World) W8
Loved this game ❤
Best 2d mario game
bring back frog suit!
5:17-5:26 That would probably take a person MANY hours in a regular speed run.
getting all the wjs isnt humanly possible though
When I see something like this, it makes me think that absolutely nothing can stop Mario
This kaizo speedruns are incredible😮😍😍😍
2:57 you lost 3:05 you lost
Bravo, it was Amazing.
1:11 Can we just appreciate the music timing here?
I remember seeing this video years ago at my grandma's house. Such a classic.
This has to be some of the best level design I’ve seen in any game or mod. Simply amazing.

Omg this is insane. Imagine if Super Mario 3 was actually like this? There would have been a lot of screaming at the game in my house 😂
until a time traveler came in clutch

Awesome!!!! Asombroso!!!!
This is like a mash up of expert and super expert smm2 levels
14:39 that dance after beating Bowser!
Thank you for this
I was just thinking that the original SMB3 isn't broken enough
I love how some levels the TASser is just delivering nothing but disrespect for the kaizo, and others it's forced into going about it exactly the same way a normal player would. It's comedic.
And in the last level, he's FORCED to get to Bowser in an unintended fashion, because you're supposed to have died in one of the levels before this, which would reset the suit blocks and let you take the hit on the spikes.
mario
@@inversionesmkm9063 they arguing and u just like "Mario" 😂😂

This must be the land that you see a small bit of when in warp zone
Amazing incredible insane crazy
Fun and sadistic stages!!!!
that's what the ad said : D
Just imagine you play this game like a boss without losing
If Obitus1 were alive today, I genuinely wonder what he would have to say.
Hopefully, something hilarious and/or encouraging. 'cause holy smokes, Lord Tom _scorched_ this game!

UA-cam recommendations too?
Also, tas scripts requires several lines of code, so programming was like playing the game
I'm an enemy
@@andricode Not exactly, just making a combination of inputs for the emulator to playback. Some people have even built machines (such as DwangoAC's TasBot) for TAS playback to a real console.
I did not practiced so much on the sma4:smb3 e-reader classic levels, but I still do good. No programmed inputs I used,I do all of them with an BT Android keyboard.
Thanks for subtitles
I've played this with my eyes closed. It was so easy.

You gotta be flawless to make it pass one level! 🥵
I had a nintendo, super nintendo and sega genesis emulators on my sega dreamcast. This reminds me of a rom hack called super strange bros 3. It was mega difficult. Not as difficult as this but somewhere up there.
Incredible.

Don't Try This At Home, Guys!!!
You are a Mario legend 💪
It’s a TAS.
“back in my day we had to walk to school like mario Kaizo”
Can you perform these walljumps in the normal game too?
(3:35)
Yes, but it is very difficult and precise. Down to the subpixel position
It would take a very long time to get them down! Time most people would not have!
yea but it's almost impossible, because you only have like 2 nanoseconds to press A or else you fail
曲芸のようなコースは遊ぶ気しない。
原作より少し難しいマリオ3カオスコントロールは良い出来だった。

How do you do this?!?! Speed running is hard enough but speed running kaizo games, that’s a lot of work
11:27 Wrong warp?
Yes
Not really
My goodness man... absolutely incredible skills
It is a great Tas, though actually playing those levels would be way harder
Sonny Jim, back in our day, video games were harder than a redneck at a family reunion. You couldn't just go match crystals up on a facebook app like you can these days.
I'm blown away how ez u make it look beatin this game #shocked
this game is built for tas players xD
LatisARG give tas players enough time and all games are made for them.

it takes more time as it does a whole bit for the 5up bonus
You have to run at p speed then jump into the left bottom corner and see what you get, I got 2/3 stars most of my time

Is this a f*cking Parks & Recreation reference?
The TAS said "nice levels... I'm just gonna do my own thing though"
As a grandfather i can confirm that this is how we arrived to school in my days
