  • Hills and valleys. It's so important recognize that when you're going through it, that you are strong enough to survive. At a certain point, you will find joy again. Enjoy and appreciate those hills. Enjoy the climb getting there. Recognize that valleys take time, patience, commitment and strength to crawl out of. You will reach another hill in time ❤️❤️❤️
PS...Ivy is doing very well!! She's happy and healthy ❤️💋...she experienced the freshman "first few weeks" ups and downs, and is now on that hill 😅😂❤️❤️❤️...

We don’t have to be constantly on the move. We don’t have to be searching for the next big thing. It’s okay to be now, it’s okay to be low, it is okay to question. It is okay to not be okay. Recognize the little moments that make us stronger.💜

This vid says something we all need to remember.
I think it's common in the first month of Uni for most, if not everyone, to experience that huge doubt. What's amazing though is that you've given your daughter the confidence she can speak to you, and the trust to lay out her vulnerability and know she'll be heard.
Sending you both lots of love as you get to grips with this milestone and the changes / introspection it brings

This really is important though because I know that I had doubts and troubles in college but my mom was the last person I could talk to. You really need to know that the support you've given Ivy has been wonderful, beautiful and definitely not something everyone can count on!
I'm so happy you have each other because you both seem amazing but I'm glad that wonderful young woman has this deep love and support from her family! Big hugs, k 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💜

My kids have been gone for four years almost 5, and I’m still in denial… for me, it has not gotten easier, it may even be a little harder.. One moved home, and I think I celebrated and cried secretly. Bravo to Ivy for her self recognition and feelings! One of the hardest times in life was going off to college then, getting out of college and having to adult, and then letting them go to college

I love you & Ivy so very much. You are BOTH very strong and it takes COURAGE to speak out and say, "I'm not okay". PROUD OF YOU BOTH 🙌🙌🙌❣❣ Also, my niece changed her major 3 times freshman year and felt very lost because she was a sweet, kind, people pleaser that had never experienced so much outside energy and pressure before. She was raised in a small town in a small school and then went to a major university. She didn't have the tools really to live in that world. Though she didn't have the exact same strughles that Ivy may be having because they are different women, she did struggle with an eating disorder. Some people can't wait to leave home, some actually enjoy it and going away to school isn't the right fit for them. Ivy is so connected to her Higher self, and emotions, not to mention incredibly brave & grounded. She will find her way, Mama Bird, as you know. In the meantime, thank you for sharing your BEAUTIFUL vulnerability with us 🙏🏻 . A good cleansing cry would probably help you both greatly. I had a temper tantrum the other day because the whole world felt like it was crashing down all around me. Went outside, sat in the driveway and had myself a good cry and it really helped, I even laughed afterwards about how silly it all was...energetically. But clearly my Empathic soul had hit the limit. Will most likely have a good cry again today 😂 ! Astrologically speaking we have all been THROUGH IT this year 🤕 ! Venus has been Retrograde for weeks, since August, but is going direct on the 7th and once she does, we will ALL be feeling a whole lot better. Eclipse season is upon us, so all who radio this, take it easy & just keep breathing...and meditate, get out in nature and ground✌💞😌 .

I’m so glad Ivey has the relationship with you that she can trust you with this. And I bet the advice you gave her wasn’t ‘buck up, buttercup’ but more along the lines of unconditional love and support.
It is hard when your kid calls you from far away and sobs, though. The first time you can’t wrap your arms around them when they cry their heart out is always gut-wrenching. I am 53 years old and the first person (after my husband) I want to talk to when something happens is my mother. She’s heard me ugly-cry over the phone countless times in my adulthood. She’s a ‘buck up’ sort of mom though. Next time, I’ll just call you, Carla. 😊

This couldn't be better timed Carla. I've been on a rollercoaster of hills and valleys the last year, more.. to be honest for the last 5 years since losing my brother and only in the last year have I started realizing that I can allow myself to fully enjoy and embrace those hills and not just wallow and wait for the next valley to arrive.. but I've also realized that I get to acknowledge those valleys but I don't need to hyper fixate on them, I can see them as temporary and not a permanent fixture which I think I'd been doing so long it became a habit. Life is too short to let those valley's become the destination.. they're only part of the journey. Sending you love and hugs!!! I hope both you and Ivy and the rest of the family have a better week this week!

This was GOOD! ... You brought me back to my young adulthood-- Having had the HIGHS and lows I experienced throughout my entire college career-- calling Mom hysterical about the choices I made-- The same scenarios/different circumstances today; nearly 45 years later. No Mom to call to cry to these days😢-- So I try to center myself and talk to God❤ ... I've had MANY HIGHS Miss Carla and I thought the lows would kill me-- but they just made me stronger! I know you and Ivy both will be ok❤

Carla what an absolute Sweetheart you are and you are so right in what you say. I find 'not so good days' are usually followed by 'better days', and perspective is EVERYTHING. Being mindful of all our blessings and thinking of others who aren't so fortunate keeps me really grounded. Some might consider this a cliche, but when it absolutely comes down to it, it's not. Thank you so much for sharing these moments with us. Your family are fortunate to have you and how lovely that Ivy feels able to express herself so freely with you. Love from Australia. ❤

❤❤❤I can totally relate, Carla. My first born just left for college, too, in August and same feelings. Ups and downs every day and every week. That’s fine though. Me and my husband call it a transition. The kid is not a young one anymore but neither is an adult yet. A lot of independency but still face times us every night for moral support and advice, lol. For the first two weeks I cried like a baby. 😢I miss my baby soooo much. So yeah, hills and valleys still ahead. 🤷🏼‍♀️
