- I don't know about you, but in between Covid, Menopause and the fact that my first son just left for college I'm NOT getting enough sleep lately...Here's a foolproof way to look good without putting in a lot of effort.

Ms Rockmore I have no idea how I first came upon your channel but my goodness I am so grateful - apart from simply enjoying your personality and absolutely swooning over your fabulous clothes and accessories - your explanations as to why you choose this or that piece are a wonderful education for me. I squandered my youth on foolish beliefs that I was ugly, wasted my unconventionally interesting appearance being invisible, looked like a middle aged spinster when I was in my 30s because the masks I wore stifled my spirit completely. I've also struggled with that feeling, like I can't wear what I want to because I'm not pretty enough to suit a pretty outfit. But I'm learning to get over that and it's INCREDIBLY freeing, and I'm so glad you're also getting to enjoy yourself and your appearance in the way you deserve to!

Years ago, on my first trip to Paris, I went into a gorgeous little shop on the left bank. Three sales ladies were chatting away. They stopped and one greeted me in French and I replied in my American accented French. Then the lady said to her coworkers in French that I was the epitome of jolie-laide! I understand her in literal terms…pretty-ugly… my face showed my hurt because she hurried over and said is excellent English, “No, no, Madame. It is better to be jolie-laide than to be beautiful. Beauty fades. With your jolie-laide face, your face is striking and timeless.”
Lesson learned. 💗

Big fan of B-Six adhesive nipple covers. Do need a bra but have physical restrictions that prevent wearing so B-Six has been my go to solution!

That closet is the size of my apartment. The consumption on display is discouraging from an environmental POV. Of course, this person may rewear their expensive clothes for a lifetime. They may have thrifted everything, and they may live in the closet.
She's a designer, I get what you mean but doesn't it make sense for her to have a lot of clothes ?
That’s life. Some consume less and some more than others. Does not make you any better for consuming less from any pov.
She's also a stylist, and influencer as well as a designer. Its her occupation. These things are an investment in her profession and she's using these things to teach us through her videos which in turn drives her business. If you were an artist you'd have a ton of supplies and nobody would blame you for going overboard and spending too much money on your fun hobby for yourself.
The world is drowning in fast fashion. Consumption of resources is perhaps the most pressing issue of the day, and fashion is a very problematic industry. There are ways to talk about and explore style without encouraging overconsumption.
If you watch more than one or two of her videos, you’ll hear her talk about incorporating items she’s had for years. Some even decades.
The stuff she designs is available on Amazon. She’s not promoting anyone going out and spending thousands on “fast fashion”.
Most of the stuff she shows are items that can be dressed up or down for many occasions.
