Operating Instructions Chemical Agent Detector Kits M256A1 Procedures: 1- (0:15) Protective Strip should still cover spots 2- (0:38) Pull and discard tab #1 as pictured below to expose tablet 3- (0:52) Rub top half of white paper tab #2 on tablet. 4- (1:03) Hold sampler with arrow up. Using heater pads, crush ampoules in three center pockets. 5- (1:30) Rotate sampler so arrow is down. Force liquid to each spot with right hand while pressing protective strip with left hand to ensure wetting of covered spots. 6- (1:43) With thumb over center of protective strip, hold sampler flat and swing heater (green ampoules) away from blister spot. 7- (1:52) Being sure NOT TO use pads, crush one heater ampoule and swing heater over spot. Vent heater vapor away from operator's body. 8- (2:08) Leave heater over spot for 2 minutes, then swing heater and protective strip away from spots. 9- (2:15) Expose spots to air (shielding from direct sun) for 10 minutes. 10- (2:26) Crush 2nd green ampoule and swing heater back over test spot. Leave in place 1 minute. 11- (2:41) Hold sampler with arrow down. Crush two outside ampoules with pads. 12- (3:02) Rerub bottom half of white paper tab next to 1st mark. 13- (3:08) Immediately look for a difference in color between the two marks. 14- (3:17) Turn Sampler over to determine safe or danger[ous] conditions. Wait 3 minutes for nerve agent results. Disregard any blue-green edge around nerve spot rim.

I’m assuming this is after you’ve put a sample liquid on the tabs or is this for in-air testing?
It’s been a few years since I’ve handled these, but I’m fairly sure it’s just fir in air testing.
