I bought the same kit, though mine expires much later. My kit is missing the paper portion that you held during (about) 2:21in your video. Any ideas on where I can get that paper to complete the kit?
I am not sure, but you might want to check ebay. You might be able to google it and see if there any surplus stores that do internet sales. I get lucky a few times and find this stuff at my local surplus stores.
I think they would still work, especially being just out of the expiration date and being in a sealed ziploc bag. I am betting that since it is M.I. that there is a range of expiration that mil-spec stays far away from, so it might last another few months or years, unless subjected excess heat, moisture or other harsh conditions.

I got lucky today and found 10 books of paper detection strips, however they are expired (Date 08/16).
