The effects of glycolic acid are said to last up until 7 days after the last application. You still need to wear sunscreen even if you wear it only at night. Glycolic acid isn't recommended for day time use as actively having it on your skin whilst in the sun can lead to more irritation

The safety limit for over-the-counter exfoliants is 1-3 times a week. After that, you risk damaging your skin barrier and worsening hyperpigmentation. It doesn't lighten the skin. It brightens it by lifting off old dead hyperpigmented skin cells

I have been thinking of making a switch from Medix 5.5 Vitamin C lotion to one that can brighten my skin. Came to check reviews on black skin for this and your video popped up first. I think it's a great idea to alternate the lotion with another, as you suggested. I had also read something similar on Amazon. I think I will try it out and keep my sunscreen even closer.

Glycolic acid can be used anytime of the day. Just make sure you're wearing sunscreen. It's RECOMMENDED to be used at night only by some brands because of caution as some customers are very reluctant to use sunscreen and sunburns are so much likely to happen when glycolic acid is actively on the skin.
