Yes, you can tincture this plant. I would recommend tincturing dried plant material (~15 - 20% RH) to reduce the amount of water and increase the concentration of medicinal compounds in the final product. Hope that helps!

Great educational vide!...Thank you. i wanted to ask you a ? i was at a local tea & herb house (called Bird Pick). i had a couple of Yerba Mate drinks...one with Gynostemma and a shot of concentrated Gynostemma. It was the 1st time i've ever had it. The ? is coming up...a great calm came over me & i was very focussed...but the lights in the place and even at far distances became brighter. When i left and went on the freeway...the lights of the cars and signs were very bright. i also had a an enhanced sense of smell. Is this normal or have you ever heard of anything like this before? Henry

So I got plants from tow different sources and they have zero sweetness. One is actually extremely bitter, and the other one is a b it bitter. They are both young. Do they become sweeter as they grow or did I get bad cultivars?

I think you should try to contact him as I spoke to him about a year and a half ago about his products when I called and I myself never got around to buying any from him but I'm going to be ordering from him this week if he's still alive .
The only brand of this tea I have ever bought was the cheaper stuff at the Chinese Grocers and yes it's very bitter yuck

I’ve bought the tea from Holy Mountain Tea Company, and it was pretty sweet. I haven’t tried to grow it myself, though.

@@gardensofthegods If you infuse the plant 3-4 minutes, the tea should be sweet.. if you infuse for 15+ minutes it should be bitter, because of the compounds that are released in the water. Keep in mind, more time infused, more goodness in the tea :)

@@Leo-my8ru thank you -- i appreciate that -- but whenever i make teas for medicinal purposes i always let them steep at least 20 minutes , sometimes even longer .
So i would never let that tea steep only for a few minutes because i am drinking it for its medicinal qualities .
      Same thing with
      BUTTERFLY BLUE
PEA TEA ( CLITORIA TERNATEA )
It it's a beautiful vine with gorgeous deep vivid blue flowers .
In Southeast Asia they eat the flowers raw in salads and Foods and every day drink the tea .
An American neurologist visiting southeast Asia notice they don't seem to have dementia and other neuromuscular diseases as here in America .
They discovered all the benefits from this vine -- not only is it good for the neurology and the Brain but also it's good for eyesight and balancing the blood pressure .
If you don't know about BUTTERFLY BLUE PEA TEA , you might want to look into it .
Also if you add a little bit of fresh squeezed lemon of water turns anywhere from Violet to Purple depending on how much you add .
