You need that popularity data to compare to ranked mode data. That shows how strong is that character in terms of popularity.

I've been fucking gaslit by this bug for SO LONG on Yoshi from all the 1 jab, b1 to 1+4 I try and do. I know there's been times where I swore I still had the time to break a grab, thought I knew the break but didn't break it, and then go to training and confirm that I was doing the correct break, and then think I've just got the timing terribly wrong. I train the grab and don't have an issue breaking it and get confused. lmao
And here I thought I was bad at breaking grabs smh

Quitalities in MK were a genius idea. Not sure how much they've made people pull more, but they really made the match more bearable for the other person.
The real issue is you don't get your points. In other fighting games I always laugh my ass off when they plug because you get your points and the satisfaction of knowing the other dude is crying. (But it won't be a big prob now if you can dodge pluggers before you press accept)

@@TruthAndReconciliationthe only issue with the disconnect percentage is that some people just plug if their opponent has horrible connection. like yesterday i was in a match that was unplayable on my end, and clearly seen it was his internet, so i plugged in the first 10 seconds of rd 1.
@crillz9660 They will also add a no contest function, but even if they want to hold you hostage in a bad connection, you can just hold forward and let yourself kill, doesn't take longer than rebooting the game and saves your disconnect %. That's what I always did anyway.
I’ve been playing mk1 since release. I can’t tell you that quitalities are MORE satisfying than a regular win AND you get the points in ranked (kombat league). One thing mk does right in online

Like phi said even pro's who know how to deal with most things still had someone spamming in tourneys doing really well. No other character gets it this strong on wr or the rest of their kit has the oppression somewhere else or is comparatively weak(maybe I'm forgetting someone but drag neutral, or jun and DJ heats, etc. at the moment are more of an issue than a strong wr)
There's also only like 3(decent floor 3, forest, colosseum?) really huge stages so getting a corner for hard punishment isn't the biggest negative imo.

You say that but from what I'm seeing from many tournaments so far... There hasn't been THAT many Dragunovs, honestly. And he still eventually gets thrashed and doesn't reach finals. I think peeps gotta calm down a bit 😅

“No contest” for bad connection, if its the same as in SF6 is worthless. The one with the bad connection will never vote for it. If the Ms and rollback delay are above a certain number, they should just let us quit the match without punishments.

the biggest problem i have with battle passes is that 9 out of 10 times they are always limited time. I ALWAYS feel alot better about buying a battle pass in a game where i dont have to worry about running out of time to complete it.

I am okay with limited time, as long as it doesn't require a huge investment. I can play ow2 and complete the battlepass within no time, even when I am not playing a lot. So unless they want me playing 3 hours daily. But yeah just allowing us to play a pass whenever we want is way better so here's hoping

I hope it knows the difference of UE Polaris Crash and a disconnect.
That's my biggest concern as well. I doubt I'd be more than 3% if counted but I've never plugged and I'd be a little miffed losing out on potential matches because UE has the occasional seizure
Backdashing and sidesteps need buffs if they're going to keep the ridiculous offense.
Speak for yourself, as long as they keep addressing overtuned moves like the WR 3 2, I'm happy with a return to aggressive tekken, especially after tekken 7 was so defense heavy. Only thing I still want to handled now is AoP counterplay.
Question. What are we supposed to do when it shows someone having a 4 bar, but when you match, there’s 3-4f delay and that 4 bar is a 3 bar. Just wait the slower timer down or intentionally lose?

Pluggers shows that many players care about rank more than they care about improving at the game. Which isn't suprising at all really...

They knew. They want to sale more, so they made new characters so strong to attract more new players to buy their game. They has been doing the same thing since tekken 7 and sale DLCs.

Will you be able to level up you battle pass without online multiplayer? I ask because a friend of mine loves tekken but hates playing online. Would suck if it would leave players like him out of gaining rewards.
I don't mind losing eddy's keep out but I do hope they reel back the game over the year to be a nice middle between T7 end of life and T8 launch. I enjoyed T7 since I'm a passive player(asuka) but T8 being different enough is also very fun and those diffences just need that fine bit of tuning and I do hope they aren't as insistent on being slow with nerfs like Sf6 since that games systems imo made up for it so most match ups can be very close along with it being a much less frustrating game(except throw loops, we don't talk about those.)
I hope they also fix the problem of certain GPUs getting a polaris error randomly during a match. If it keeps going I'll have a high disconnect rate because of something that's out of my control

For future reference, the most common way to pronounce negativa in a capoeira context is “nega-CHEE-va”. Some regional dialects may differ but that’s what we capoeiristas say.
Nah, no need to say the ''chee'' sound. As you said, some brazilian dialects may say the ''t'' sound like that, but originally it's not how it's pronnounced. I'm from the northeast of Brazil, there are a lot of capoeiristas here, and they say it exactly as Phi said. It's actually rather a matter of accent than dialects. I speak the ''t'' sound without the 'chee' thing, your explanation is more about different brazilian accents, not about ''that's what we capoeiristas say''. It's just region determined.
I'm a Northeasterner too, and we don't say it like that, so the "Chee" isn't necessary when factoring in variations of Brazilian dialects.

i love that they fix the disconnect thingy, though i got some legit dc's, i guess steam related? idk, where i got thrown into main menu and tekken was running in offline mode. i had to reconnect in order to get back into ranked or quick matches. is that gonna be shown as dc's for me too? cause that would kinda suck, i never plugged and the % is probably really low... but still

yea same, and if thats is going to count towards disconnect % as well... damn
the server records the reason for disconnect, as you can see with the error code most of the time. What they look for with the disconnect percentage is the client-side connection to completely drop from one side, so the middle-man issues (steamwebservice errors) should be easily recognizable for their systems and not affect your dc %
I've also had quite a few steam disconnects, really hoping it won't count but I think the main thing will just be to bear it in mind when looking at pc disconnect rates if nothing else.
I've maybe had 5-6 disconnects because of steam in 200 hours so at the end of the day it shouldn't matter too much.
If it's anything like Tekken 7 it only counts your last 50 matches, so if you've had some weird Steam related disconnects, keep playing with a stable connection and you should go back to or be at 0% disconnect.
I'm enjoying my time with the game, so I am looking forward to the battle pass. Altho if they go this route with the MTX imo new characters should be free or buyable with in game currency a la lego of legends. Would fix the problem that people have of not being able to lab against a DLC character.

I'm only slightly worried about my disconnect rate because my game went through a crashing spree and then I had internet troubles during a storm T__T
I wonder if it'll be like Tekken 7 where (to my understanding), if you played 50 games with no disconnects, it resets your disconnection rate?

This disconnect counter does absolute jack shit. There are more regions outside USA and Europe, and finding matches is not easy. Finding matches is time consuming I don't want to waste even more time avoiding matches. If they can figure out who plugs then just give pluggers a loss.
Has much as I want to agree it’s about laws harada said it himself. Different countries have rules and some of those rule are in favor of the pluggers and hackers. They can even get sued and they had tried before. It’s more complicated then you realize

The battle pass needs to follow the path of Helldiver's 2. The battle pass in H2 is available forever, and you can pay for it or get it with in game currency.
I'm actually okay with purchasing a battle pass in T8, IF it's available forever, and I can play it in solo mode. I don't think T8 has to have in game currency available for free, but it would be a good gesture for them to do.
What if your game crashes mid fight, will it be considered as disconnecting on purpose?

now that they add another layer of mtx in customization.. it would at least be nice if starting from S2 onward they would just make the character unlocks like how valorant agent unlock system works.... Make it early access for 2 weeks to a month for paying player than add the char afterward for everyone to unlock with the fight money..
They changed move to high and GODBLESS its now safe on block. It was launch punishable in t7

Its not random apparently, Yakushima and Urban square for Nvdia gpus and Fallen destiny for Amd, even high end gpus are crashing so its not a "just upgrade ur pc bro" type of problem, people had this problem in every CBT, some in day 1 launch, and others last patch, really weird how few people are talking about this.

As someone who holds my punch buttons ALL the time because that's how I learned how to do 1+2 consistently I just knew I wasn't getting throw breaks, and I was just getting frustrated with the game. I'm so glad it was a bug and not me.
Also Eddy is incredibly hype, I read that manga and it got me interested in Capoeira as well. Unfortunately the only Capoeira place is about an hours drive.

I know this game has tons of issues as expected but am i the only one who really enjoys every second of it? Im having a Tekken primetime, played alot of games in the past, like Warzone etc, so the fact that my all time favourite Tekken now has a shop, Eddy comin in few days, i love the stages, love most of the changes, im not really annoyed with Pauls hair or Lee’s battlesuit like wtf🤣 Tekken is taking over my life and i can’t get enough of it.❤️
I think most people are enjoying the game, things like the lack of punishments to pluggers and the micro transaction store arent super major to my enjoyment of the game. Its just frustrating when the game devs arent focusing on the things people are complaining about and are instead making cash shops. I also have some complaints about some of the top tiers and more abusable heat mechanics but its a fighting game so like thats just how it is lol.
Genuinely, I think if everyone on reddit vocal about their frustrations were to quit at the same time it would have little impact on the public perception of the game, because especially since the Sajam Slam the mainstream has a very positive opinion of it

One weekend it was like 30 people in 30 hours… crazy roberry. Mostly Mishima players in blue ranks🤫😎😂

Putting them in plugger jail is a good idea. They'll be forced to play each other without plugging to get out of jail. The ones who continue to plug will stay in jail for longer. And the ones who don't plug to leave jail will feel the pain of playing a match against a plugger and learn why plugging is bad.
The pass is not now or ever something Ill be interested in
Ive had my game disconnect to due my internet crashing, am I going to be punished with a disconnect rate for an uncontrollable error? I have never intentionally plugged.
It should be your opponent's choice to have that information and decide if they want to play against you whether or not you meant to quit. Regardless of your intent, if you're disconnecting a significant portion of your matches, opponents should have the choice to not play against you.
If it happence once out of 100 matches then ur disconnect rate might be at 1% i assume which is not a problem,, its those with over 10% that might have trouble finding matches
You shouldn’t worry if its just a few errors. There is a difference between 20-30% or more because of plugging and 1-5% because of errors. It’s pretty much guaranteed at this point that no one on pc will have 0% dc rate for this reason.

at 28 frames i call it semi reactable to me because sometimes i see it and on instinct block it and think "howd i do that?" and sometimes i'll just get clipped

I play Azucena (as a complete beginner), but never used that move. I haven't played any ranked games, so haven't found any incentive to cheese yet. I'm just trying to learn fundamentals first. It's fine if that move gets nerfed as far as I'm concerned.
The only worry for me is that I've DCd from steam going down for maintenance (happens tuesday evenings here in the uk) hopefully those types of DCs dont get counted

Actually it's not true that Eddy hasn't been able to sidestep since he came into the game! That really only happened in Tekken 4. If you look at Eddy, you'd never guess "unable to sidestep". It should be the opposite, right? He looks like he sidesteps the most, and in fact that's how it was supposed to be. He was introduced in Tekken 3 along with the new sidestep system, and he was supposed to show it off more than anyone.
In TTT1 Eddy had by far the best sidestep in the game, and I think the same was true in Tekken 3 although not positive. Eddy had a unique sidestep mechanic, in addition to a lot of lateral evasion on his moves (most notably b4 and ss2).
Eddy's special mechanic was a command sidestep: you could press 1+2 or d1+2 and you would sidestep into the foreground or background. What made this unique is that it was the only sidestep that was bufferable, so Eddy could reliably sidestep frame 1. Generally in T3 and TTT1 movement was much bigger but not bufferable, so timing a sidestep to evade a poke was really hard -- except for Eddy. When they reworked the sidestep system in Tekken 4, they didn't really know what to do with Christie. Now all characters had bufferable sidestep, and they didn't really know how to animate a sidewalk for Christie. So they just sort of...didn't. And then moves would clip Christie/Eddy due to the neutral animation, and they just never fixed it.
It's awesome that they're finally addressing this. It never made any sense, and it meant the capos would always balance really strangely.
How they streamlined Eddy's defense on stance from grounded to standing but having Xiaoyu with stronger AoP than ever? Like the last twitter thing about her.
I dont know why but I dont seem to be having much trouble against eddy... could be muscle memory flooding back from tekken 3 when I was a kid or dumb luck but yh. Crazy we cant even lab the matchup without the dlc though
The rage BA and rage art the players should be able to have match ups where they both can decide to turn it off.

Hope they don’t over nerf Eddy movement. I like him bc he’s the only male/serious character with a top tier back dash. Don’t really want to play Alisa (cringe) or Zafina (not personally into) just to play a defensive style.
Movement is the best part of fighting games stop removing it!
Happy to see T8 devs are serious about the long-term health of the game and are soon to release some much needed QoL.
I thought plugging was just a gold-rank issue, until I hit Ruler ranks and oh boy, I was so wrong. With the disconnect rate patched, this may discourage pluggers from running rampant, though I do feel a more solid solution is necessary to curve this, but baby steps. Baby steps is fine.
I for one am happy for the Asuzena nerfs; too many peeps spamming running knee and getting away with it, especially against players (like me), who're still getting SS down to a science.
