Good info but there is a correct order to this if you only want to buy once. If you are an aggressive rider suspension front and rear are a must. If you just cruise then just the rear shocks will be a huge benefit. They will add more comfort and stability. If you dont have a problem with stock suspension then you start with a seat. Every thing else is measured from your riding position. So once you have the seat you want then you get measured for bars and windscreen. After you complete these mods " SEAT FIRST" then you can add whatever else whenever. This is ground zero to getting your bike fit to you. Just remember this rabbit hole runs deep. Enjoy.
I agree 100% about the rabbit hole. Once you start upgrading, get ready for a long and costly ride. Ride Safe
For me number one is a backrest. At 61and multiple back surgeries it keeps me going all day. Number two is a touring windshield. It stops all of the beating my shoulders used to take. And number three is the Cyro wired phone mount. No vibration, phone stays charged and Bluetooth connectivity with my Zyphon and U-Clear helmet systems always works all day.
Well it's off to Kickstands to meet the Professuonal Monkeys at 8pm meet and greet.
Very good points. Thanks for sharing. Ride Safe
Hey Jack, I think each and everyone of us needs to make the bike fit yourself. My Heritage just seems just right.......Who would have figured? There will be something new in the future, I promise. Be well my friend. ... Bob
I can't wait to see what you get next. You are becoming the bike master. Ride Safe
So far I have not done suspension or handlebar upgrades but may do so in the future. Thanks for the thoughts.
You will be very happy. Ride Safe
As I look for my next ride, these "top modifications" are the many of things that are making me shy away from HD(and Indian). Whether I can do mods on my own or not, I just don't want a bike I don't have to sink more money into and mess with for upgrades and making it fit me. I spent so much time and money "upgrading" the Victory and my Harleys before it that I've reached the end of my rope..
You have very good points. I hope you find what you are looking for soon. I can't wait to hear what motorcycle you will be getting next. Ride Safe
Thanks for the suggestions. Suspension and handlebars are on the top of my list.
You will be very happy with these two upgrades. Ride Safe
My first three mods were these, in this order: Driver back rest, slip on mufflers, and a bit more chrome.
Chrome is king! Sounds like good upgrade. Ride Safe
Suspension is my next upgrade. 😎👍
It is very much worth the money. Ride Safe
Hello Jack, any bike without dirt isn’t being rode. Great footage even with the windshield. Thanks for your thought on up grades to do. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
Thank you! Ride Safe
Not a bad list, but I would throw in a seat ahead of the floorboards. Just what I would do!!
I want to change out the seat at some point. Ride Safe
Great video!...you will be very happy once you upgrade the front suspension!!...thanks for sharing...stay safe...ride safe!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
It is on my short list for sure. Ride Safe
My friend I've done more upgrades then I can remember but I have not done my shocks yet that's in the future for me great video thanks for sharing it with us and ride safe
Thanks for watching. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Shocks are something I never thought I would do. I am so glad I did replace them. Ride Safe
Bars, better seat, and a better windshield are my top 3 for longer trips. All three of these in stock form suck. I run KST 14" double trouble bars, Long Ride shield 10" sting ray windshield summer and 12" thresher winter. Lastly I use a Mustang lowdown seat but I am considering trying a Danny Gray IST seat. Probably order it tonight or tomorrow.
I would like to know how the new seat feels. Thanks for sharing. Ride Safe
New tires lol been putting the miles on almost 43k already. Next year, look out California
This is a lot of miles, but it makes you happy. Ride Safe
Exactly the reason I quit riding Harley Davidson . Every other motorcycle brand puts the very best parts on the motorcycle when they build it. Only Harley-Davidson put substandard parts on brand new overpriced motorcycles expecting the first owners to change everything. Their excuse is you get to make the motorcycle your own or fit you. The funny part is is Harley guys don't even understand that. Until they ride another motorcycle. But most of them never even try a different bike. Otherwise they would understand there are so many Superior motorcycles out there for half the cost that you don't have to put any work in
I am shopping for all brands. I want to make the right choice for me. My wife always asks why people buy a Harley and then change everything. Ride Safe
