Need an Elite Expansions for I/O's guys, there's not enough i/o's, even this wastegate using 2 extra plus a seperate driver. Which is cool but we need more I/O's Im after 23 now if I want this Eboost controller. Which i do but cruise , abs , map selector , 4 150 psi sensors , 2 iat's , 4 egt's , plus 2 more swithes for tripping antilag or 2step etc. system is busy and needs more please. Im running everything full on analogue side and buying another 4 port platium expansions box is not going to help.
The electric gate has been out for a while, yet I see ppl faffing around with c02 still. I heard there were some issues trying to control the gate. Whats the deal. Isn’t it open source, why wasn’t driving the thing nailed in a month. I’m used to some hobby open source platforms around flight controllers and brushless motor controllers. 2yrs is forever in open hardware when 1000s of ST engineers are spending their spare time collaborating and crushing a singular goal. I need to do some research on what’s holding up the TS eGate. Oh and cool vid, logic level H bridge prebuilt by haltech sounds dope.
This is AWESOME news! Electronic wastegate sounds like it's going to be amazing. However, did anyone see Jamie's Civic from PFI Speed? His Turbosmart electronic wastegate got stuck closed and the engine saw 80 psi of boost. Cracked the block in half lengthwise. Makes me nervous to run an e-gate, but I suppose that's what boost cut is for, right?
@@coreyconway1289 Yes, hence why I typed, "but I suppose that's what boost cut is for." However, when you pay $1200 Fn dollars for a glorified electric exhaust valve, IT BETTER WORK OUT OF THE BOX!! If I see more failures, then no I am not on board until it gets revised. This is like buying a new car- NEVER EVER buy the 1st model from the new generation. It's like a 2020 Chevy Silverado. $90 grand and the lifters fail in under 8000 miles because they outsourced them from a company who has a poor track record for making lifters. To each their own I guess. I mean, these valves are BRAND NEW for anyone.
As a generic motor driver yes (so the case of the itb throttle setup where you need extra current yes it'll work on any ECU) the specific egate control however is limited to haltech elite and nexus ecu's

How did your research go. I was going to get this, but second guessing after the other ecu company has issues controlling an egate.

what caused it to stick closed? probably the electonics controlling it. (fooltech)

No. There is no DBW function written into the Elite 2000 firmware.

You would need 4 SSRs to form the "full bridge", wiring them appropriately, and possibly a few other components.
Would a CAN connection be possible?

Not at this stage. Currently it only works with Haltech Elite and Nexus series ECUs.
