This is one of my favorite videos you've produced just because it's a different way of catching Sheepshead. I watched it when you first published it. I found some pass crabs the other day. I came hear to see how big the ones you were using were. I might try them as bait for some Sheepshead.
I've been watching your vids for the last few days and love them. Keep them coming! I want to start fishing again in tampa bay & watching you is a great start. Thank you very much!
Looks like an awesome day. I was just telling the wife i would like for her and I to go out there very soon. Definitely going to try that recipe out. Thanks for the video josh.
Thanks for showing how to rig for different species of fish with line weights and hook types and sizes. Learning a lot for a new to me area, so I have a better chance of catching. Planning a trip to Skyway soon!
I thought I was watching food network at the end there! Lol. I like these types of videos now and then. Good to see a few techniques for a certain species and then see some option of what to do with it once you catch it. Keep it up!
Great video, Nice resolution and fun, specially important you explaining how you do your rig, thank you for all tips, hey give me the recipe to make my wife love fishing like me, Good luck and keep it up man
Try adding about a half teaspoon of cornstarch to your sauce and it will thicken and stick to the fish better make sure to mix it in the beer before you add it to the other ingredients. I’m gonna try your recipe for sure. Great vid
Hi Josh.. Have to try that recipe.. Now if ChrissyPoo had gone that video, I'd have said he would make somebody a good wife..lol. j/k. I like Chris.. I like these types of videos, plus the live feed.. Got lucky because I didn't get a notification, but still mad ed it to your feed.. Thanks for the recipe and video Josh... Always your fan..
Great, a new technique to try when I make it up that way. Maybe a bobber video in the future explaining situations for the many bobber styles out there on the market. Just curious if any other bobbers would work for this technique. Thanks and that chefs hat. Lol
I love your fishing videos and you should do a lot more catch clean and cook I love to see you do some grouper or Snapper or some mackerel cuz I go out to the Skyway almost every day when I get a day off but keep up the good work man maybe one day I'll see you out there .good luck on your next fishing trip brother
Capt...great video. I've used your tutorial videos for pompano, mackeral and your other videos for sheepshead, In your past sheepshead video you fished the bridge piling. I'm looking forward to fishing the Skyway myself with this setup. For this video looks like you cast out. What determines what length to set the bobber stop at? Thanks in advance!
How's it goin Joshua Im lucky enough to hit the skyway several times a week with that being said I was wondering if the rig you are using would work with fiddler crabs??
How do you get the crab to go down in the water Column? Mine just kept floating on top with the bobber. Do you use a weight or do the sheep’s take it off the top? Love your channel Joshua
Capt. Joshua, Great Video Dude. How long were you there? If you had to catch your bait, and then the fish, is this a "Catch, Catch, and Cook?" lol Neat to show get fresh bait that they are literally eating to get nice fish. BTW, UA-cam came through this time with the notification. Take care Buddy and good to see you get to fish also Stephanie! 🙂🎣
Nice tarpon fight! Curious how you were catching those crabs, lol. Are they floating or on the pilings? This would help our harvest for sure. Pls give technique or show us a video. Thx Joshua
Rita Hurtado The key to shark is bleeding them right away and then not puncturing organs when you fillet them. After that, soak the meat in milk or buttermilk for hours with ice cubes. Dip those babies in fish and chips batter with salt and pepper, fry until golden. It's heavenly.
I have been fishing the piers for twenty years or more, back in the day when the piers were nice they had fillet stations. I have been cleaning fish on that bridge for years and thousands of carcasses thrown back. I would recommend keeping them whole until you are ready to exit the pier. BTW, I used to clean my grouper right in front of the FWC officers. ;)
But, watching your videos and want to try fishing the skyway, is it or is it not, illegal to do? Based on what I read, it is. The game warden doesn’t want to hear from me if stopped on the bridge “ some guy from UA-cam said”. Just like drinking and driving, you just haven’t been caught yet. I now regret buying your shirt. If it hadn’t been washed already, I would return it. At least you could admit your mistake instead of making an excuse for it.
Give a thumbs up folks if you want more videos like this. I implemented a little of everything, tutorial, fishing and the cooking.
Where did you get the net you used for catching the pass crabs? Im local to the tampa area.
My wife picked it up from a local tackle store a couple of years ago, I am not sure which one honestly.
Joshua Taylor how do you catch the crabs I’ve only seen about 5 the times I’ve been out there.

Love the catch and cooks especially at the skyway, one of my favorite places to fish!
We will have many more. Thanks for the comment.
Glad to see I’m not the only one that still uses the improved clinch knot with braid lol! It has yet to fail me
Len Dog That knot is tried and tested.
Thanks for getting back, big fan!
Love seeing you film some fishing and that recipe looks incredible.

That glaze sounds delicious!
It really is, give that recipe a try.
Great video! Do you have a video on how to make the net to catch the pass crabs? 🦀
Thanks bud, you don't have to make it. Just purchase one!
Awesome video brotha! Cool technique!!! An man that fish looks yummy 😍😍
That recipe is delicious, give it a try Chris!
Try adding about a half teaspoon of cornstarch to your sauce and it will thicken and stick to the fish better make sure to mix it in the beer before you add it to the other ingredients. I’m gonna try your recipe for sure. Great vid

I am sure I can put something together, other bobbers would work but I don't think they would be as effective.
Thanks Justin, we have many more catch and cooks scheduled.
Been a long time since I've hunted convicts, never fished for them like this before.
i2aspire Give it a try, tons of fun.
Nice vid Chef Josh (Step aside Bobby).. I’ll have to try your recipe with porgies/flounder..More catch / cook

You guys are so cute together!
Where you get crabs?
Did you watch the video?
I subbed brother! Awesome. Where can I purchase the long dip net? Thanks man
Thanks and welcome aboard. My wife purchased it at a local shop. Try Liquadators.
Not bad my man. Idk about that Chef Ramsay part, but I might just try this recipe out.....
Your cooking is amazing for me😍😮... Our cooking is soo different, Iam from India.... Soo nice Video👌👌👍
Glad you enjoyed it bud
Like the video, but one question. How is the grouper and snapper bite this time of year on the bridge?
Snapper bite is good, grouper is fair.
where did you get the hat? Details please, brand etc.
Checkout Saltyscales.com
With the weather cooling down, has the Convict bite at the skyway heated up yet ?
Can't comment. Gotta eat now👍👍👍.
lol, you hungry!
I’m sorry, kinda new at this. Those crabs, were they just hiding in the grass as the tides changed?
Steven Nary They do hide in the grass but they drift by on the surface.
Nice to find another Fl boy. We hit the pier for overnight trips. Hit tons of grunts, never any sheeps though. You prefer north or south?
Preferably the south pier
I used to work at publix by the west marina.
Hey Josh. Are they out in the rock piles like the Grouper or what. What part of the pier?
Sheepies are everywhere, next to the pilling, rock piles. Anywhere there is structure.
Joshua Taylor ok. I know there on the pickings but never tried out at the rock piles. Thx. Oh how long of leader under the cork are you going?
Great thumbnail
Thanks Tony
How's it goin Joshua Im lucky enough to hit the skyway several times a week with that being said I was wondering if the rig you are using would work with fiddler crabs??
Are you on the side with the baitshop?
How do you get the crab to go down in the water Column? Mine just kept floating on top with the bobber. Do you use a weight or do the sheep’s take it off the top? Love your channel Joshua
How did you get the crabs? Did your net reach to the bottom?
Awesomeness!
Great video truely enjoyed it . Do a lobster catch and cook .
Hi Josh, are you getting the sheephead on the rock piles?
Sheepies are everywhere, next to the pilling, rock piles. Anywhere there is structure.
I have that same hat! 👍
Just picked it up but I'm think about making custom SS straw hats. Would be a good look. ;)
Joshua Taylor Yea I’d buy one. Have too many longsleeve fishing shirts right now, not so many fishing hats.
Where can i get a grab net like that in tampa?
Hey Joshua always enjoy watching your videos I want to ask you where did you get that long pole crab net? Thanks
Great video and always, thanks. When do sheepshead normally start showing up at the Skyway?
Bro I love your vids
Thanks Koran, I appreciate the comment.
Pshhhhh, this guys videos are..... well, they’re okay I guess 🤷🏻♂️😂
What is the best spot on the this pier to fish for sheepshead
What local stores sell crabs for bait?
Do you use a pier net ?
I do not, for larger game I use a drop snatch hook.
Capt. Joshua, Great Video Dude. How long were you there? If you had to catch your bait, and then the fish, is this a "Catch, Catch, and Cook?" lol Neat to show get fresh bait that they are literally eating to get nice fish. Have any recommendations on shark?
What kind of recommendations are you looking for? Tackle? Bait? Location? Gear?
Cooking
Rita Hurtado The key to shark is bleeding them right away and then not puncturing organs when you fillet them. After that, soak the meat in milk or buttermilk for hours with ice cubes. Dip those babies in fish and chips batter with salt and pepper, fry until golden. It's heavenly.
How long do Sheepshead have to be and is there a season?
12 inches and there is no season.
New cooking channel coming soon?😂 and sweet vid love playing with tarpon
I am not the best cook but I can cook fish lol.
From the bobber stopper to the hook what was the length of line ?
I have no clue, I think you might be overthinking it a bit?
How long was your leader?
Caught one two weeks ago, 25 inch, 10 lb. at CBBT in virginia.
HOW LONG DID YOU MAKE THE LEADER?
Three feet or so but it doesn't matter much when using a slip rig.
I was just there today used squid and sting rays kept taking it used shrimp and dolphins where on it
Those piers can be a very frustrating place to fish to say the least.
Fish to man " I OWN YOU" lol
He whooped me but that is what 20lb leader will get you when you hook a tank such as that lol.
I have a house in st.pete and the tarpon are insane I caught a 128 pounder this summer
Nice work
Where I get the honey?
I have to order that honey on Amazon, I think it comes from Brazil.
Thanks. Gotta find a recipe my girl will like with the sheepshead. Catching them at the skyway what got me get hooked on fishing.
Here is the honey: amzn.to/2Nk71sH
Also noticed that you are fishing for sheepshead in open water?
Congrats this place is amazing, Beautiful Fishing! Have a great week of verysuccessful and a lot of fish on the line. *Hug.* 👍
Thank you, it is a beautiful area for sure.
I cant eat fish, but i love fishing.
That stinks but at least you can still catch them.
Can you shoot me the recipe? And is it good on reds or trout?
I'll see if I have the actual recipe, it's just one we have used for years.
It looked like the rotor on your reel stopped working after the tarpon
No, the rubber bead stop went up the line and was getting caught in the reel. The reel is perfectly fine.
Love the recipe now I will keep the sheepsheads and not give them away
Man you gotta start putting the band of the song in the description
Knight Of Zer0 I always forget, I pay for the service, so they don't require me to.
hi
Hello
I thought cleaning them there is against fwc rules?!? Because if your checked by an officer, you can’t prove how long the Fish is.
www.capmel.com/forums/topic/cleaning-fish-on-the-pier-legal-question/

daaammmnnn!!! Hot and handsome chef!!!!!
I know you like fishing, Not sure you like the taste of fish.
I like the taste of fish, eat it all the time. 👍
