Hole saw arbors are not all the same.

this video interchangeable hole saw arbors shows you how to switch out your arbor from one hole saw to another this is really a nifty little trick if you understand how they work. I show you how the set screw section of the arbors for the hole saws hold everything in place and you can't release the arbor unless you unscrew the set screw first. this used to get me early on. there are some that release differently and I show you this some snap into place and some screw into place with the threaded arbor. I show you how the smaller ones have a variety of configurations as well. some of the smaller ones are fixed and don't come apart like the larger ones except for the ability to remove the drill to replace it if it gets dull. I do have one arbor that has the locking keys and is similar to the larger arbors that work for the larger hole saws. An additional note to the video the set screw is for the drill bit. The nut is to be hand tightened in that holds the locking pins in place on the saw itself. But you probably already knew this.

My hole saw has no threads. It has a rectangular center hole with two small ones on each side of the center hole.

I've seen something similar to that. They make all different configurations I guess it's just a matter of the manufacturers idea of what's best. Thanks for watching.
