Kyle Burden yup yup Zero Sum Discharge is a dumby thicc move, and doesnt take much learning to do in this fight. I consistently got the first horn break before the 3rd phase
The way he explains things makes it sound possible for anybody to do, even us mortals. Other youtubers tell you the seemingly impossible pro strat, usually they are wearing the set you get for killing the creature in the first place or are I-Frame rolling every attack perfectly.
On the day of it's release I spent 6+ hours with other players trying to get a single hunt done, all to no avail. I decided to make a set with safijiva and gold rath to balance damage and survivability. It took several tries, but my first kill had 18 seconds to spare. The second had nearly two and a half minutes. It's a great feeling.
I had a similar experience with fighting Alatreon solo in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. In the first hunt where I finally got him, had died 2 times, used all my items, ran out of Cold Drinks, but kept going in on hope, and boom, slain with like 3 seconds left. Exhilarating is an understatement.
Killed Fatalis my first run with one cart left, and 4 seconds left. Now I can kill him relatively reliably with ten minutes to spare... Progress feels good
The information about the mount is actually not true. You can still just move every time he struggles except when he does the crawl move, which will make you lose stamina no matter where you are, so thats when you need to hold. This also aplies to Alatreons flying dash and Brute Wyvern Jumps.
interesting. Every time i tried to move on him my stamina plummeted. I've seen hunter fails mounts. But when i just move to the head and hang on, it goes so smooth it's the easiest thing ever.
During such actions, the trick is to jump from body part to body part until the action ends. The I-frames of the jumps will cancel the stamina loss, yes there are I-frames, you can check it for yourself by equipping an evasion mantle, it will activate the attack boost if you jump with the i-frames.
Idk why I'm having the same kind of issue as Gaijin described while using IG and mounting Fatalis. I hold on and if I try moving at all, I lose stamina really fast. It seemed like even if he wasn't crawling. I'll have to try again, I guess. I had same issues with mounting Shara
Legitimately fighting fatalis is like being in a toxic relationship. It starts off amazing then get super super shitty about halfway in only to then beat it get pass it and realize all you wanna do is go back .
That initial setup is great. Fightincowboy has a video with basically the same setup but he takes advantage of clockwork/rath heart set bonuses and then poison bombs Fatalis while he's down after the cannon burst. You still have time to get the yeet off and then go back to camp. The double poison damage keeps ticking while you are changing sets.
I do a modified version that works well for me, I use rajang heavy bowgun and Gatling his face whilst he's down, I stop about a quarter way through the ammo and clutch claw tenderise. Put temporal on, launch him into the wall and finally start throwing poison smoke bombs down. Even if he's active temporal will save me and I poison him before finally going back to camp to change into my real set. It only adds like 20 seconds more but like this you can manage to deal a lot of damage to those horns before the poison.
if you are going to yeet off then might as well run a wyvernheart pure damage setup. 3 safi pieces (head/gloves/boots) and 2 furious rajang pieces (chest/waist) with resentment 5 charm. Max out crit eye, special ammo boost, heavy artillery and all the attack jewels (and partbreaker if you still have space) you can cram into it and just go to town on fatalis head (for break) or chest (for damage). Optimal build does somewhere along the lines of 4.3k damage in that topple window on the head, more on the chest. comes with in-build 1.5x part break modifier so it's equivalent to like 6k worth of damage on the head.
Thanks to your wing cheese, I too managed to create the full set. Thankfully I got lucky with the eyes and got all 3 within an hour. Haven't beaten it yet but congrats on beating it!
I beat him solo after 19 attempts. Then I started doing it with randoms and beat him another 3 times. People seem to be getting the hang of him now, we still fail more times than not, but most times we at least make it to the third phase. I love this fight, easily now my favourite boss/siege monsters in the franchise, and my favourite incarnation of Fatalis (which makes me excited to see Crimson and White Fatalis down the line).
I agree. I personally love Alateron a lot, but in terms of phases, mechanics and siege Fatalis is a masterfully well crafted fight by the devs. Thank you Capcom for making this happen! 🥰
I get more successful hunt with MR50-200 randoms than with MR900+ players. And it always funny to see that most MR900+ players keep abandoning the quest right after they carted lol.
Arapaima Gold well getting to 999 has nothing to do with skill. You just need to do 2-3 quest over and over and in about a week if you play casual you are at 999. I’m still at only 300 and playing for about 1700 h I refuse to do this quests. At least I’m almost done with Hunter Rank wich is at 750
@@Jason-wt8oe don't give up! There's always something to learn from each cart. I too, had a hard time for the first 48 hrs. Now, same as this guy, I have defeated 11 Fatalis already. Now I do it for fun haha
@@Jason-wt8oe If you're really not getting it, I recommend a ZSD spamming switch axe set. there's probably plenty of sets on yt that you can use. it requires like 2 hours of pracitce but after that it's really easy. My best run is a 14 min solo run with switch axe and 0 carts and believe me, I'm I'm everything but a switch axe main. GL!
Watching you live tweet your plunderblade shenanigans while I was visiting my family inspired me to attempt my own shenanigans with the cannons and trying to use the ballistas during my hunt while plunderblading and on my first run back It ended up in my first clear instead of it just being a test run
I like this, reminds me a lot of those Lao ShanLung from MHGU, where you can clear the quest by doing mostly the maps weapons installments. Great job, fellow hunter!
Shaver jewel and heavy artilery is literally the key here, The moment proof of hero is playing while u charge at it's fire attack is blood pumping, scream like crazy
One thing I learned by accident is you can actually survive his fire nova in the 3rd phase, it does a little over 3/4ths of your health so if you keep popping the potions and stay at full health you can tank it (no idea if fire res accounts to the damage or not). Very good info to know if you know someone won't be able to make it on time and need to throw a dust or wide ranged mega potion.
Thank you for your extreme honesty in hunting the extinction event himself. You're the reason I can push myself to absolutely PUSH myself to hunt every monster! (I know redundant) Stay awesome and honest my friend!
Got my solo kill on day 2 w/ Hammer using lots of buffs. Fatalis made me bring out the Might Pills and start doing speedrun stuff like intentionally triggering Agitator. After that I just made 4 pieces of the armor using Plunderblade. Now I can solo it consistently.
I wanna start off with props for the commitment to the shenanigans and I do appreciate your content and how wholesome you are. With that being said I can’t help but think about you complaining about celestial prints and how it cheapens the experience because players can just trade in for parts. Idk I just feel like this is a cop out since you ended up getting full fatalis set and then slayed it with said set. Maybe I’m just grouchy idk. Just feels hypocritical to me.
After various timeouts after bringing Fatalis to 10% to 5% health, I just gave up and resorted to spamming zero sum discharge on its head. One of the most engaging fights of the game with one of the best music scores.
It took me four or five tries to finish my Special Assignment alone. I gave my weekend to Fatalis, helping other people with their Specials and Fade to Black, only netting two kills each day and enough parts to build the complete set (still need two eyes to make me the Swtich Axe). And it was magnificent. Being on the ground floor as strategies developed, seeing the dedicated healer become a viable and valuable role and a monster that pushes us to the absolute limits, testing everything we've learned on a journey over two and a half years. A most exquisite end to the World experience.
I just finished my first solo fatalis with hammer and I really feel great! Now I can craft my Fatalis Hammer! Its nice to see you are also doing great gaijin!
Gaijin Hunter is just the best Monster Hunter youtuber in my opinion. Every video thru the years was great and has just as much love and quality as all the other ones. Keep up your great work and teach us to get better hunters 🐳
Cool! Thanks for the tips GaijinHunter! I'll keep this in mind since I'm beyond rusty for not playing for close to a year and I want to get back to the groove in time for Rise. Waiting eagerly for your Rise weapon tutorials.
Bonus tips! ZSD Switch axe spam on the head with partbreaker is effective to cheese it, pack tool specialist and temporal + rocksteady. Alternatively Greatsword clutch attack spam works too and is more lenient on set/decorations because you don't need power prolonger, whereas for ZSD Swax you need power prolonger AND focus. If you're using a weapon with a shield, like Lance, Gunlance, or CB, I'd suggest going for a build with evasion and evade extender and completely abandoning guard skills. His chip damage is high, he combos a lot, and getting locked into guard can kill you from the chip, whilst evasion avoids these issues. Savage Axe beats SAED for this fight, SAED will get you punished and he hits hard enough that you can't risk it unless you're very good.
So you mean just clutching the head with GS works for breaking it twice? I user db but have a frost craft gs credit/ draw build. Looking for easy eyes.
@@RPGeenius If you do it enough yes, but it shouldn't be the only way you hit it. Combo the head when he goes down (with a little practise you'll figure out how many attacks you can fit in), but some of his moves are safe openings if attacking someone else. His several-second-cone-fire-breath attack is safe to hit from the side, his left-to-right/right-to-left flamethrower sweeps on all fours can be hit safely from the side during the sweep and after his head returns to the centre once he's done sweeping, and his triple-fireball-while-on-all-fours can be safe to hit from the side as his head comes back down between each fireball as long as he's not aiming at you. There's quite a lot of openings for at least an uncharged draw attack, and with partbreaker those will add up to quite a big contribution over time.
Ooh, I have to try that! Just need the horns and the eyes, so I'm gonna go and break that head. The Fatalis chest piece is so nice with the tiny wings, I love it. And the waist looks great with the Alatreon chest! Black dragon fashion armor, let's goooo!
Several tips for fatalis’ signature attacks: 1. Big fire breath on the ground Do a superman dive if you don’t think you can make it to his side, spam superman again when you wake up. Actually do the superman dive even if you think you made it just to be safe. 2. Supernova when he change phases Keep your health full with potions & dust of life while running. Even if you don’t make it in time his second more powerful fire won’t kill you if you have enough HP. Just keep laying on the ground after the blast. 3. Circling fire breath after phase 3 Go to the opposite side of his head, between his front and back leg. If you’re too far from him do a superman dive because the hitbox is huge 4. If you’re using LS, ALWAYS foresight to his side Tldr>when in doubt, superman dive! (And pray) Happy hunting! (Or be hunted by fatalis)
@@gaijinhunter That quest gives you the charm not a decoration which is a very different thing. I ask because in the set displayed at 7:55 you have a earplugs charm instead of razor sharp/spare shot
That 11k dragonator is the stuff of dreams. I just beat ol' noodle neck for the first time today, had to try a whole week beforehand though... Hope more people get to see your strats so they don't have to struggle like me!
Just managed to solo this thing with hammer yesterday in a bit over 22min. Its a great fight! Lovely vid Gaijin, gonna have to try the sleep dragonator for that juicy damage
One thing about mounting him, no you do NOT have to brace for the entire mount. when you HAVE to brace is when he gets down on all fours and does his charging animation. Similarly to brute wyverns jumping during a mount, it will go through your stamina. When he's normally just trying to shake your off, it's safe to jump to another part.
Interesting I figured we would get a video with your thoughts on the fight in general, lore implications etc first before a fight tutorial. Do you think you may still make a video on that?
Maby i missheard it but i think you didn't mention it: there is actually a second binder in the arena, makes the second phase little easier :)... it's located right behind the "curtain thing" that melts in the first phase
if you aim the opener second cannon a bit more carefully and have partbreaker in addition to heavy artillery you can almost always get the wing break before he falls down, if he don't hop down and hit the wings a tiny bit more and you have it, useful for farming wings but don't want to do the whole hunt.
Just got my first Fatalis kill: Solo with DBs and maximum cheesiness. Took a bunch of carts but in the last possible minute I brought him down, the feeling was probably one of the greatest I've known from a Monster Hunter game. All the frustration at Fatalis' bullshit moveset, all of my excitement for every headbreak... over 30 attempts with various weapons and strategies, learning what opportunities to take and which ones to abandon. I think the double whammy of Alatreon (the ultimate test of your ability to read a monster and punish its moves in order to survive) and Fatalis (the test of how much of the game you understand and how well can you use EVERYTHING you have to snatch a victory) is such a perfect end to this entry in the series. Yes, both are incredibly hard, but the feeling of beating them... defeating this intimidating beast that has torn so many other hunters asunder... there's nothing better for a Hunter. It wouldn't be the same any other way.
8:00 Not been my experience. While yes, it does like to do a few fireballs or maybe a sweeping firebreath if you stand by the dragonator, I find he'll soon come crawling into position regardless. Just doesn't necessarily do it right away. You really don't need to get on the ground for it, I find. Likewise, with the cannons at the start, if you stand there, Fatalis tends to come crawling right on over and likes to do a biting attack which is actually very slow and he takes ages to pull back, so it's obviously intended to be the moment where you fire the cannons. Doesn't always do that right away, either, but it likes to do it. Fatalis may be relatively smart, but it's not quite *that* smart. I'll admit, though, that's an impressively elaborate setup. Oh, and one more small tip, try to keep Dragon Pods on you as much as possible. Not just for wallbanging, but also because it can absolutely save your life if you get knocked down by the body slam, or if you just need to relieve pressure or need an easy approach. Fatalis staggers very, very easily from these things. 2 or 3 shots basically always does it.
Such structure with your builds and here I am with my unga bunga build pounding away on a god’s horns. It works well but is simplistic compared to gaijin’s strats haha. Well done!
it is actually easier to farm eyes on special assignment since the event quest has only 3 faints while special assignments has 5 faints. I also finished my armor set + 1 weapon without slaying Fatalis
I love the fact that the game allows hunters to do this if they choose, not being able to defeat fatalis doesnt mean u can't enjoy its endgame. And when the set is complete, u just feel like an absolute B E A S T !
I cleared it with a group of 4. One guy was duel blade support. Even with the 4 player difficultly modifiers this is a pretty challenging but fun hunt. The biggest obstacles we had to face as a group was when Fatalis, at lower health, switching to the opposite side of the room and using his breath. Breaking horns after he switches to his super fire breath is the most frightening thing I've seen in MHW. Cannot count how many times I have carted to getting hit by enrage super breaths.
Personal difference for opening... fire cannon from in ghilie all 5 will hit tail/right leg, immediately put on temporal after he charges he will rear up on back legs, tenderize head(must wear temporal or rocksteady incase he does fireball or lunging bite) then go fire the other cannon. I felt tenderizing during the longest opening in the fight was a waste
I actually have more trouble to get his Cortex than Evil eye Everything use a lot of cortex but it drop like 1 per hunt(carve and reward and if lucky from shiny drop) for some reason I have enough Evil Eye but still short for Cortex :(
Go in with a ghillie mantle, tool specialist secret, and a farcaster with your cat using the plunderblade (you can also eat for felyne tailor which helps with tool recharge time). Stand under Fatalis and whistle for your cat to use plunderblade and palarang. Fatalis will attack your cat so just make sure to move out of the way of his attacks so it doesn't disable your mantle. Keep doing this until your ghillie mantle runs out, farcast back to camp and grab another farcaster while your mantle recharges and repeat until you run out of time. I get about 3 cortexes each run and while it's boring it's also stress free. It's just not great to do for evil eyes as it will take forever.
Hey Gaijin I’m playing MHW on my PC and I’m trying to pick up the insect glaive, could you maybe do a video on how to use it as well as your keyboard bindings to use the IG efficiently?
I’m sure you know but worth mentioning there is another one shot binder behind the iron door after it’s first fire breath attack But great job at putting it to sleep in front of the dragonator , my friend and i tried it twice and we sucked at doing it so we ended up just not putting it to sleep 😅 Anyways nice video keep it up sir
It's very similar to what I do for solo hunt. Only for the first phase after blasting both cannons and lure him towards the barrel bomb. I set up another 2 barrel bomb and detonate it with wyvern ammo instead of tenderizing his head. After that then I yeet him, eat his attack and cart. Now my fortify procs and I can change my set at the same time
Unless Gaijin has already shared his cosmetic choices in a previous vid (in which case I’d appreciate a link), could anyone say what (layered?) armor he’s using in the thumbnail?
Honestly it could work but it's hard to really predict when your sleep will build up enough to take effect, and waiting for Fatalis to be in front of the Dragonator, honestly maybe just try bowgun, it's super fun
no it won't for several reasons: 1. there's some hidden dps check to get the dragonator working. it'll only trigger if you can reduce his health to some level and it'll take 1 min for dragonator to prepare. i don't see any sleep glaive good enough for that except probably safi glaive 2. he's quite resistance with sleep. you can't keep him asleep, after 1-2 sleeps you're going to have a tough time trying to sleep him off (because sleep threshold will also already too high)
@@bufosp what if at the start of phase 3 I used a farcaster to swap to the new glaive and then ran that final bit with that glaive instead only at the end?
@gaijin hunter Are you sure about the mount? I mounted several times and there is only one move that hits both the head and the back which is the charge. Other moves can be dodge by moving as usual
Fatalis is the only monster that me and my friends didn't beat on the first day of its release, i've seen people broke their controller over it. But honestly, i wouldn't want it any other way, it's THE Fatalis after all. It's a fun fight and a satisfying finale of the game
My Fatalis journey was pretty janky. I did it solo, so few convenience features to take advantage of. I only had Heavy Artillery 4-slot charms, nothing smaller, so I had to basically have it on my Glider Mantle and throw it on when I used cannons and roaming ballista, and take it off otherwise because it needed to recharge and I got sometimes screwed over by hovering after a jump instead of going straight down. Managed to eventually beat it with 48 seconds left, using the Lance - noted bad DPS weapon. Heavy Artillery really makes a difference. I didn't even think about using the bombs at the beginning, and I also rushed the wallbang, I'm sure that would make the opener a lot more comfy. I didn't get the second headbreak either - I focused on the chest because in the final phase it becomes very soft and with tenderizing it takes more damage than the head does, and I just wanted that kill. I was able to get an Evil Eye just by carving, but I want two more for the weapon. Not sure if I'll have the motivation to go back and kill it again or focus on that second head break, or if I just want to go for dutiful plundering while listening to a podcast or something.
Anyone who stumbles on this video it’s not too difficult to make his set even if you can’t beat him, but don’t use the plunderblade to get evil eyes or fellwings. Use sticky ammo to break the wings, they’re squishy it’s easy. And use the GS or Switch axe to break his head twice, you will get evil eyes fairly easily and you will learn Fatalis’s move arsenal in the process giving you more confidence you can eventually beat him
Hey Gaijin hunter. From my mounting experience you only have to hold RT when he does his rush move. When he's flailing around you can move to get extra hits.
A really cool video. I do have some tricks like you but I didn't get the idea of sleeping him before dragonator that's pretty smart. Does someone knows how many sleep shot the fatalis needs to fall asleep (with the perk for sleep)
Thanks man. Always appreciate your videos. So let's go brake that head. Edit: did it. So happy. Thank you for the tricks. Now I have the 4 set bonus. Finally
Found a little bug but if the cannons have 4 balls in them and your cats on its way to put the fifth if you load a cannon ball first it'll then shoot 6 cannon balls instead of 5
I did not know that the flames power up when the head is not broken, thanks for that! Here I was wondering why I'm fine on one hunt but get oneshot even with extra def+fire res on another, haha. But one other question, I'm pretty frustrated about his large arena-wide flame breath where you have to run to the safespot .. I've already died 4 times to it because there was simply not enough time to get there. When I have my weapon out and get his wind pressure on top of it when he flies away, I'm basically guaranteed to die =/ And if that wasn't enough it looks like the side of the arena he flies to is random? Usually he flies to the outside but I also had him fly to where the gate was. So what am I supposed to do here? Fight in the center of the arena 100% of the time? Waste precious slots for quick sheath and/or wind pressure resist? That said I forgot to check if farcaster works during this attack, though going by other fights I guess it probably doesn't. Any tips for this?
You cannot farcaster when he does the huge fire attack. When he uses it, remember that the attack is in a cone shape from Fatalis' position, so if you're slightly to the left or right of Fatalis you can head diagonally for the quickest escape. Try not to fight on the very edges of the map, it's risky.
If your talking about his nova the one with the wind pressure before flying away then the locations aren't random. If the gate is north then the first and second time he uses this is from the south. Run under the rug for the first and the gate for second. The third time is from the west, run towards him. The fourth is from the south again. This time you run towards him as well. The first two times you have cover and last two you don't. And yes wind resist can actually save you. But if you know which one he'll use you can stay closer to cover in anticipation of his attack if you don't want wind resist. Hope this helps👍.
@@RPGeenius I know the covers for the first / second one but im pretty sure I saw him fly to the north, on top of the ledge, after the 2nd one - but I've only seen it once and never again so far .. But you're making me doubt myself now, should have saved the replay =7 Maybe it's super rare or a bug or something. If the directions are fixed like you say then that will help at least, pretty annoying to die to simply being too far away after getting that far. Even had one try where 3 people died to it at once.
@@Shiwayari north is the one I forgot your right! That may be the third . Then the rest. I knew I forgot one of them😅. But yeah it's fixed so you can prepare.

I got to the point where I stopped dying stupidly, but for the life of me I cannot get a kill in 30 minutes solo. (Lance btw)
At least I’m almost done with Hunter Rank wich is at 750
It took me 30 deaths but I finally got it slayed now I am 11 straight kills and im now helping fellow hunters get through it
I lost count how many times I fought him but I haven't killed him yet unfortunately.

Hey can you help me
@@lukewest2570 PS4?
Watching you live tweet your plunderblade shenanigans while I was visiting my family inspired me to attempt my own shenanigans with the cannons and trying to use the ballistas during my hunt while plunderblading and on my first run back It ended up in my first clear instead of it just being a test run
I like this, reminds me a lot of those Lao ShanLung from MHGU, where you can clear the quest by doing mostly the maps weapons installments.
Great job, fellow hunter!
Shaver jewel and heavy artilery is literally the key here,
The moment proof of hero is playing while u charge at it's fire attack is blood pumping, scream like crazy
I had so much _observation hunting,_ Fatalis eventually said - You wanna boot a different game on your steam library?
Fatalis has by far the smartest AI of any of the games monsters and it really adds to how terrifying he is
One thing I learned by accident is you can actually survive his fire nova in the 3rd phase, it does a little over 3/4ths of your health so if you keep popping the potions and stay at full health you can tank it (no idea if fire res accounts to the damage or not). Very good info to know if you know someone won't be able to make it on time and need to throw a dust or wide ranged mega potion.
the fleet: nooo! you can't just repel fatalis and get it's armor!
gaijin: hahaha buffs go brrrrrrrr
More like Hahaha cheese go brrrrr
Thank you for your extreme honesty in hunting the extinction event himself.
You're the reason I can push myself to absolutely PUSH myself to hunt every monster! (I know redundant)
Stay awesome and honest my friend!
This video is the definition of never give up. There is a way to conquer Fatalis, Hunters!
Thanks for the video Gaijin
Getting his full set without killing him isn't "conquering him" dude.
I beat him for the very first time last night, I did it solo and it was the most satisfying feeling I’ve ever felt in a video game
me: I beat Fatalis 3 times yet couldn't be able craft whole set.
Gaijin Hunter: I crafted the whole set without even beating him once.
...
I wish I could beat him, someday though I will. I am going to try every day but not push myself to exhaustion.
I wish I can at least fight fatalis, I can't play mhw cause I can't buy the game
After fighting him 4 day without success I can tell it is not fun at all ,it is only for elite players not for the rest of players
You can and you will. I literally went from carting five minutes in to having no carts 2 days later. Keep hunting dude!
@@jasondarylconsunto8571 thanks
Thank you, as always, for the great info and commitment to helping people with these games.
This is why I like you gaijin.. always doing something crazy.!! Love your vids and ideas!
I am new to his videos but definitly great first impression looking forward to more.
Ooh, I have to try that! Just need the horns and the eyes, so I'm gonna go and break that head.
The Fatalis chest piece is so nice with the tiny wings, I love it. And the waist looks great with the Alatreon chest!
Black dragon fashion armor, let's goooo!
Several tips for fatalis’ signature attacks:
1. Big fire breath on the ground
Do a superman dive if you don’t think you can make it to his side, spam superman again when you wake up.
Actually do the superman dive even if you think you made it just to be safe.
2. Supernova when he change phases
Keep your health full with potions & dust of life while running. Even if you don’t make it in time his second more powerful fire won’t kill you if you have enough HP. Just keep laying on the ground after the blast.
3. Circling fire breath after phase 3
Go to the opposite side of his head, between his front and back leg. If you’re too far from him do a superman dive because the hitbox is huge
4. If you’re using LS, ALWAYS foresight to his side
Tldr>when in doubt, superman dive! (And pray)
Happy hunting! (Or be hunted by fatalis)

So where is the razor sharp/spare shot coming from at 7:55?
The deco
@@gaijinhunter what is the deco called? Because last I checked there is no deco for that skill
@@gaijinhunter Yeah i cant find a decoration that has it as well
It exists it’s an optional quest line reward. You should be able to find it on google

1000th like :D Also great video always love your updates currently rewatching all the mh4 vids during quarantine
I really wished I knew these tips and tricks when I tackled it in my video...
Lol. Even though he said he would wait, as soon as I saw that first post, I knew it was going to happen!
This is a really chill run down. Love it
if you aim the opener second cannon a bit more carefully and have partbreaker in addition to heavy artillery you can almost always get the wing break before he falls down, if he don't hop down and hit the wings a tiny bit more and you have it, useful for farming wings but don't want to do the whole hunt.
It should be stated that breaking the wings also helps with keeping Fatalis grounded, which is a boon for most melee players.
Thank you Gaijin, now I’ll employ these tactics on the special assignment. 👍
I'll prep my builds in the G. Lands before fighting him and amazing work with that dedication farming Fatty.
You saying you're gonna yeet Fatalis into a wall threw me off for a min.
Epic !! I'm trying this tonight ! Thanks for sharing your strategy
Cannot count how many times I have carted to getting hit by enrage super breaths.
throughout the video I'm itchin to tell your character to roll on the puddles of water lmao. it puts out the fireblight.
The mount only drains your stamina when he does his big charge, flame throwers and normal flails still allow you to move around
Not sure if this was mentioned but you can also use two dragon pods to flynch it.
Bro, this may figure in Sun Tzu tactical book ! Love it ;)
Personal difference for opening... fire cannon from in ghilie all 5 will hit tail/right leg, immediately put on temporal after he charges he will rear up on back legs, tenderize head(must wear temporal or rocksteady incase he does fireball or lunging bite) then go fire the other cannon. I felt tenderizing during the longest opening in the fight was a waste
I actually have more trouble to get his Cortex than Evil eye
Everything use a lot of cortex but it drop like 1 per hunt(carve and reward and if lucky from shiny drop) for some reason
I have enough Evil Eye but still short for Cortex :(
just plunderblade and you'll swim in them :)
I have more than 20 cortex, and most of them was dropped from wallbangs in failed quest...
I like these tips, I'll use them to my advantage!
You can survive the mega fire in the last phase if you have guts/moxxie and are above the health threshold when the instakill hits. Can be handy.
Hey Gaijin I’m playing MHW on my PC and I’m trying to pick up the insect glaive, could you maybe do a video on how to use it as well as your keyboard bindings to use the IG efficiently?
Seems I gotta thank my cat for giving me an eye the first time I used the plunderblade lol
The only move that forces you to hold on to fatalis is when he takes a few steps back and runs on all 4. U can move back and forth on the others
I’m sure you know but worth mentioning there is another one shot binder behind the iron door after it’s first fire breath attack
But great job at putting it to sleep in front of the dragonator , my friend and i tried it twice and we sucked at doing it so we ended up just not putting it to sleep 😅
Anyways nice video keep it up sir
It's very similar to what I do for solo hunt. Only for the first phase after blasting both cannons and lure him towards the barrel bomb. I set up another 2 barrel bomb and detonate it with wyvern ammo instead of tenderizing his head. After that then I yeet him, eat his attack and cart. Now my fortify procs and I can change my set at the same time
Unless Gaijin has already shared his cosmetic choices in a previous vid (in
which case I’d appreciate a link), could anyone say what (layered?) armor he’s using in the thumbnail?
Gaijin 🌟 what are your Top 5 monsters u want to return in Monster Hunter Rise ?
I'm gonna guess his number one is going to be Mizutsune
Zamatrious the icy shark
Wow, you did fantastic work to get that kill man. Only killed him 5 times and never knew that you can use the plunderblade to get the eye lol.
About the mount. You can move around, the only attack he does that you need to brace is his charge across the arena.
Now I have never used a bowgun before, if I ran a sleep glaive with max sleep attack and kept him in front of the dragonator would that work?
Honestly it could work but it's hard to really predict when your sleep will build up enough to take effect, and waiting for Fatalis to be in front of the Dragonator, honestly maybe just try bowgun, it's super fun
no it won't for several reasons:
1. there's some hidden dps check to get the dragonator working. it'll only trigger if you can reduce his health to some level and it'll take 1 min for dragonator to prepare. i don't see any sleep glaive good enough for that except probably safi glaive
2. he's quite resistance with sleep. you can't keep him asleep, after 1-2 sleeps you're going to have a tough time trying to sleep him off (because sleep threshold will also already too high)
9:08 Was that adept style?
I haven’t played mhw but I played mhgu. Are there styles in mhw? Thanks for replying if ever. 😅🙏
Fatalis is the only monster that me and my friends didn't beat on the first day of its release, i've seen people broke their controller over it.
But honestly, i wouldn't want it any other way, it's THE Fatalis after all. It's a fun fight and a satisfying finale of the game
Ik the feeling of the title “my fatalis journey” although my video would be a 85 min long video
Why do I get all the stuff but the eyes? Head brake once. Do I have to brake it twice to get the eyes?
Yep.
Thanks man. Always appreciate your videos. So let's go brake that head.
Edit: did it. So happy. Thank you for the tricks. Now I have the 4 set bonus. Finally
Found a little bug but if the cannons have 4 balls in them and your cats on its way to put the fifth if you load a cannon ball first it'll then shoot 6 cannon balls instead of 5
That is a Great informative video .
Thank you mister gaijin hunter .
Nice one, I definitely want to try these tricks
For the mounting bit, it's ok to move as long as he's not charging.
the mount is easier and faster if a friend shoots two dragonpods at fatalis so he staggers and you can instantly use your mount attack
I am so impressed for that!! This is insane!! !
Tnx for letting me know the hp threshold for breath, I was hoping there was some way of telling how close to death he gets
I best way to mount in my opinion is to move when he shakes or does normal attacks but when he does the charge that’s when you hold
When I have my weapon out and get his wind pressure on top of it when he flies away, I'm basically guaranteed to die =/
And if that wasn't enough it looks like the side of the arena he flies to is random?
But you're making me doubt myself now, should have saved the replay =7
Maybe it's super rare or a bug or something.
