I think the wound time extension WAS made with the intent of reducing how often you will have to do it, but it does simultaneously make wounding more effective as well, of course. Importantly, this will incentivise some weapons to utilize tenderizing when they wouldn't before, or would actively build to negate its necessity. As a Gunlance player, it should open up a little more flexibility in how I play, making non-shell attacks more viable to be mixed in with the shells. Especially with Clutch Claw Boost. Gunlance luckily does tend to have some spare slots to invest into comfort, so it should be little trouble slotting that in.
It always bring tears to my eyes when the first year of free dlcs comes to an end.. Its amazing how they were able to keep doing that with each iteration that I played..
Despite the fact that I don't like the direction World took in some of the changes, this two years were great, game was really worth it and fun, Capcom really cared for the game and the players, which is shown by this Fatalis update, he wasn't planned but they added him after realizing how much people loved the HD render during the 15th anniversary, it's also fantastic that we're going back to the old world for this update coming full circle since the game was released. I'd say thanks to everyone who worked on the game for the fantastic job and care put into it.
Glad to see Gaijin make his way through the Iceborne post game in time for the final title update. What a finale for Iceborne, giving us 2 black dragons back to back.
7:19 That "crazy octopus-looking thing" is Super-8 from the obscure Capcom fighting game "Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness", and is also referenced with a Hammer you can get in Iceborne via an Event Quest.
They literally implied that Alatreon was supposed to be the final update, but they decided to add in Fatalis. No one should be complaining about no more new updates after this haha. In another universe, Alatreon was the final update, and this new update doesn't exist.
from what I've read they added fatalis because of how people liked the HD render from the 15th aniversary, so yeah this is a fan-service update and I'm loving it
That's not the impression i got from their discussion, they clearly said Fatalis wasn't "locked in" as the final monster, meaning we would have gotten another monster as the final one (say Dalamadur or a totally new monster), but after they saw the great response to the Anniversary poster they decided to use the new version of Fatalis in the poster as the final monster.
AscendantStoic Only a forbidden dragon deserves to come after Alatreon. But maybe something else could have come before it. Either way, I’m glad they went with Fatalis.
The fact that they remade a classic map is badass. I'd love to see virtually every classic map, from the (Scottish Highlands) Verdant Hills to the Ancestral Steppe, even though that isn't possible
Thank you gajin for being an awesome UA-camr and keeping us updated during Icebornes life, and thank you to this wonderful community happy hunting hunters
The final recap of the dev diary made me realise that as a Nintendo player, i have been 3 years waiting for a port or new MH game. I know that MHW has been the best thing that has happened to the franchise, but I can only feel sad about missing this magnificent experience.
@@dhamarlatief7837 True. I bought the Switch in 2017 expecting a MH just like in 3ds. Regarding the next game, i have very low hopes that it would be for Switch.
4:15 I think I know why they're giving the clutch claw more love: because it's this generation's "gimmick". In every generation we have a new mechanic or tool that's specific to that generation and then doesn't get used again, I think we won't see the clutch claw again in future games, it was just a thing for this one, so they want to give it has much attention has possible now.
The recap segment made me feel some great emotions. This game has changed my life since Monster Hunter has become a great part of my life. This game has been amazing. I've racked up 2500 hours and I don't see it stoping anytime soon. I appreciate what they're doing despite Covid and I can't wait to hunt this beast!
These clutch claw changes are absolutely in the right direction. The clutch claw being strong wasn't really the problem in itself, it was that it was mandatory and also took a lot of time to get the effects of, especially with 'light' weapons. This way the strength will be the same, but the intrusiveness of the claw in the amount of gameplay time dedicated to using it instead of actually fighting using your combos and whatnot will be lower.
the Developer Diary made me really emotional and sad ngl... :/ 9:09 *Exactly!* Because it's the final update... The End of MHW... :( But they did an incredible job with this game! It was really fun! And still is! :)
What a helluva way to finish this game off. I wish we could have gotten Crimson Fatalis, but this looks amazing! I haven't even finished World's campaign and the recap section had me bawling my eyes out. Such a fantastic game and great entry in the series.
Earplugs Charm V is saving me a level 4 slot in a few sets, and the Critical and Exploiter charms are getting level 3 upgrades, which means we no longer need jewels to max out those skills (Critical Boost and Weakness Exploit). They really want players to go crazy with sets if they're doing that AND Fatalis unlocks all secrets. This is how you do a final update, making players just absurdly powerful.
@@suppythecat Ichinose is the Director of the portable MH games such as Freedom, Portable 3rd and MHX/Generations. He teased his game 'MH NEXT' last year during the 15th anniversary of MH the same way he teased MH Generations during the 10th anniversary of MH.
They couldn't have done it better than this. The final update that connects the New World to the old games. Going all the way back to Castle Schrade with the first black dragon, THE black dragon. Also, I pray to gog that the new BGM for your room includes the Pokke Village theme. I might actually cry if I hear it in Iceborne.
I saw this comment in the trailer but according to lore one of the ace hunters lost their lives because they saved their apprentice and during the trailer the huntsman does the same to the Excitable A lister for a second in the trailer which sort of gives me chills.
Yay! Maybe they'll be focusing on a new iteration for the Switch. That would be the dream. Glad they're finally going to be able to move forward once Fatalis releases.
Give it to me, Capcom! Glad to see MHW: IB is ending up with a bang, it's amazing the amount of free content that they have given us in one year! Now all that's left for us is to keep enjoying it, and look out for the bright future of MH ahead of us ^_^
Glad what they're adding for the last update. The clutch claw skill, master rank layer armor and the craftable decos are overdue. Better late than never!
I love the fact that Fatalis was never considered for Iceborne until they decided to promote him for their 15th anniversary, and the fan response to it just prompted them to put him in the game.
Clutch Claw will most likely increase the duration of the wound effect from 90seconds to ~120seconds.. Maybe 150seconds if we're lucky. It's still a good addition and something that actually fixes majority of issues with Clutch Claw.
I'm kind of still hoping as a super long shot that one day we check the event quest list and White Fatalis is there with no warning, but conspiracies aside, GGs MH team. They should be proud of having delivered something excellent and hats off to them for actively listening to community feedback.
The fact that they added a new way to handle the clutch claw really demonstrtates that they are listening to the playerbase. People have been complaining about the CC from the beginning.
The Cideo in the End hit me hard, 2017 was my first Gamescom and i stood there in the first row as they showed the first Gameplay of wildspire Waste. And i finally got to play with my Friends, they always wanted to play the Game but never had the Systems except the PS2 where we started but had no Online. It took 16 Years but it was more then worth it.

(they're showing it with the Space Lord Super 8 which is another Armored Warriors reference) I can not wait to get my hands on that Earplugs V charm edit: I hope those rubber chicken pendants squeak as you swing your weapon around
THE most important is the jewel melding. My God it took me 2500 hours to finally get a Shield jewel. i know bow players tearing their hair out because they cant get the Mighty Bow jewel. These are jewels which are critical depending what weapon you play and it can make or break your ability to make armor sets i.e. i was stuck using Uragaan armor pieces until i finally got the shield jewel which opened up a whole range of new and different builds for me an HBG player.
might bow is the one that actually changes the damage/weapon shield is like uh so you cant just superman dive ok just block amd sharp jewel well just get masters touch

I like that in the montage they had parts from the world trailers and iceborne trailer so remember being so so excited during this time back in the summer of 2017 it just was so different back it very nostalgic
You are absolutely right, people expect DLC after DLC and I get it, World is such a success and easy to build on and continue. But if they never stop old stuff and do something new, we never would've gotten MonHun World, we would've been stuck with maybe MH2G DLC #100. We need to congrats them and appreciate the love they have crafted and we enjoyed for 2+ yrs now. But also I think if it wasn't because of the 2020 situation, they probably would've had more, MR USJ stuff are in game but never going thru (understandably), if you look at the Camera research "extra slots" that you can unlock, it was obviously meant to have expand even more. So I think the 2020 situation really gave them a very hard time to do all that they wanted to do. The final Dev diary also seems rush and cramped everything together. I am not complaining, just expanding on some observation. All in all, they deserve all the praise and success for the love they've put in. And the community knows that and responded with love and passion as well. So GG Capcom.
This game got me into the series, made me addicted to the point that I went back and got ahold of as many old Monster Hunter games as I could. Ended up sinking hundreds of hours into them, and even now im still going through G rank in 4U, leveling up my guiding lands in MHW, Farming Lagiacrus in 3U... What a blast. I adore this series now. I cant wait to see what the next game is like, I hope they bring back underwater and Leviathans.
1:16 Hey, at least the content is free. It's not like a western dev who'd force you to spend ~$15 per update with predatory microtransactions on top of it.
@@cartoonvideos5 I have no clue how you got that out of what I said. What I'm saying is that we should be thankful that we've been getting free content after launch instead of having to pay a ridiculous amount for the tiniest bit like EA or ActiBlizz would do and we shouldn't be expecting the game to be getting new content until the end of time. I never said anything about it sucking. I'm agreeing with the point made at that timestamp.

The only thing im sad about is once Fatalis is out of the way, being the last monster, everyone in my group is gonna drop the game, they're not really invested in the MH series, and ill be by myself again. Other than that im hyped to fight it once again and what the devs have next in store for future games. I've been a fan since MHGen on the 3DS and this series always has me excited for more.
Anyone knows what happend with the MH movie Legend of the Guild??? I can't find anything about it. Now that the Ace Cadet gets backstory, I wanna know what's with Ace Commanders backstory in his movie.
I think this is the same exact Fatalis from monhunt 1. Either it got revived via it's unnatural healing abilities, or our previous hunter put on that armor one too many times.
Ome other thing to note: at 9:02, it shows Fatalis' icon. Why is this noteworthy? To any longtime MH player you'll know that Fatalis had only a large question mark as its icon before(for some reason) but now its FINALLY officially been made.
I hope I’m not the only one to notice, but above where they list the 3 special arena event quests there are 2 more event quests that we haven’t heard discussed
Also, to the type of people who you mentioned at the top of the video. Capcom focusing on a new game lets the Main Team focus on making a new game optimized for PS5/Next-Gen Xbox/SSDs.etc I wouldn't be surprised if the next MH game is a iteration on Iceborne's formula led by the MH Generations Team with the Assistance of the Frontier Team as a Cross-Gen Multiplatform game.

While I myself am not that big a fan of Fatalis, I know many are, so this is the perfect way to end this game. While not every update has been the best with some hiccups along the way, I do admire their dediciation with the free updates all this time. I am excited to see what they do for the next installment and how they can elevate the series even further.

He only receives 3rd degree burns xD
That single Fatalis Palico armour is enough for me to get back into the game. I LOVE CAPCOM❤️❤️
Been supporting since 4 ultimate, almost cried during the recap, sad that this is ending, but even more excited for their next plans.
i'm actually crying when they put up the footage
2 years of amazing experience. mhw is my first entry to the series and i do love the heck out of the game
bro the ending of the dev stream was so emotional, got my straight in the feels, I loved this game so much
i wept like a small child knowing that this game's life cycle is ending but it also made me really happy knowing i have sooooo many special memories associated with this game i wish it could go on forever but the fact that its ending made me feel like i was saying goodbye to a good friend and i think it takes a special kind of game to make people feel like that and for me no matter what was happening in my life monster hunter was there for me i am so sad to see this game end but i hope there will be another awesome game of this caliber in the future for the net gen consoles and i know that in the future i will be pumped for the next game its been quite the ride for monster hunter world and i still cant believe that its ending i tip my hat to you CAPCOM for making a wonderful game and as always HAPPY HUNTING !
Yes, normal shell GL should be able to keep up with the other shells now, considering the side swings are actually quite strong.
It always bring tears to my eyes when the first year of free dlcs comes to an end..
Its amazing how they were able to keep doing that with each iteration that I played..
8:19 "if you care about the poogies" who is the horrible person that doesn't care about the poogies?!
hi
In another universe, Alatreon was the final update, and this new update doesn't exist.
from what I've read they added fatalis because of how people liked the HD render from the 15th aniversary, so yeah this is a fan-service update and I'm loving it
Lucas Peixoto Exactly! We literally already asked for an encore and got one with Fatalis
@@lucaspeixoto975 it became fan service when they said he was the top monster
That's not the impression i got from their discussion, they clearly said Fatalis wasn't "locked in" as the final monster, meaning we would have gotten another monster as the final one (say Dalamadur or a totally new monster), but after they saw the great response to the Anniversary poster they decided to use the new version of Fatalis in the poster as the final monster.
AscendantStoic Only a forbidden dragon deserves to come after Alatreon. But maybe something else could have come before it. Either way, I’m glad they went with Fatalis.
This dev diary got me emotional at the end thank you monster hunter devs you made one of the greatest games of all time
8:16 That Poogie Costume has to be a reference to Nightmare Before Christmas.
I get why they call it Fey-talis, (Fatal) but
It will still be Fah-talis in my heart.
Fahtalis is correct since fata comes from latin and means fate , destiny
@@fernystein9516 _But everyone, including me, says Fey-talis

TFW Fatalis is actually the only siege fight in Iceborne. So glad they remade Schrade as well was worried they're reuse the valley again.
God, I love the MH dev team. These guys have put SO MUCH love and care into making this game perfect!
As some one who never played world the recap still made me emotional
Same. While I haven't been able to play World or Iceborn yet (want to someday), seeing all that has been done warms my heart.
The final recap of the dev diary made me realise that as a Nintendo player, i have been 3 years waiting for a port or new MH game.
I know that MHW has been the best thing that has happened to the franchise, but I can only feel sad about missing this magnificent experience.
Meanwhile me who gets next console depending from next mh game platform :] but if rumors are true next mh game is on switch
Fuck man go for a ps4 right now, you are lossing so much. If you're a fan, you deserve play this mh, in fact, mh deserved be played by you
@@Razfort it's not that easy to just "buy this buy those, play this and that" for somebody pal
@@dhamarlatief7837 True. I bought the Switch in 2017 expecting a MH just like in 3ds.
Regarding the next game, i have very low hopes that it would be for Switch.
You're right, sorry bro, I really understand that, I hope at least a new mh in switch so that we enjoy more mh
Hoping they do at ATs for the rest of the elders. Kinda sad to never see them finish those line ups.
Hoping too, want the teo y master rank armor :D
"Wounds last longer" thx capcom :)
Wonderfully done. So many good things. But I am so happy they're giving us quests in the Seliana Supply Cache !
Ive been waiting for your review gaijin!
It's been an honor hunting with everyone! 💕
It should have been a patch, not a decoration.
September is also when Netflix's Dragon's Dogma based show comes out. :D
the Developer Diary made me really emotional and sad ngl... :/
9:09 *Exactly!*
Because it's the final update...
The End of MHW... :(
But they did an incredible job with this game!
*Drools in Handicraft Charm V*
that montage... made me cry a little bit..i want to hug the team of monster hunter old and new! best game ever!
6:21 Diversion jewel, I think that's gonna be Provoker! As a lance player, I'm very happy to have that skill untied from the earring.
I actually already know all of these but I just want to watch Gaijin's video. Keep it up man!
Nice. I am thankful for you beeing so positive and hopeful for a new MH.
5th gen ain't over. Ichinose's game will be revealed really soon. #Ibelieve
Im sorry,, who is ichinose ?
wut game is that?
@@suppythecat Ichinose is the Director of the portable MH games such as Freedom, Portable 3rd and MHX/Generations.

So it’s for the Switch ???

They couldn't have done it better than this. The final update that connects the New World to the old games. Going all the way back to Castle Schrade with the first black dragon, THE black dragon.
Also, I pray to gog that the new BGM for your room includes the Pokke Village theme. I might actually cry if I hear it in Iceborne.

Castle Shrade looks absolutely clean!
I saw this comment in the trailer but according to lore one of the ace hunters lost their lives because they saved their apprentice and during the trailer the huntsman does the same to the Excitable A lister for a second in the trailer which sort of gives me chills.
It's actually the Excitable A-Lister pushing the main character out of the way.
Yay! Maybe they'll be focusing on a new iteration for the Switch. That would be the dream. Glad they're finally going to be able to move forward once Fatalis releases.
Another old gen spin-off or stories 2 for switch, and real MH6 for everyone else (PC, XSX, PS5)
I don't want shitty framerate on real MH
2 fps at 4k or 400fps at 240p
Palico armor is amazing. Gonna love my Fatalico
The legend returns, i first fought the black fatalis, in monster hunter 1 (PS2), for me it'll be like meeting an old friend after a long time.
We've been following you almost D1, it's nice ti have you back. Really ❤️
7:20 this looks like a pendant of Agmiss, a boss from Capcom's Armored Warriors! (they're showing it with the Space Lord Super 8 which is another Armored Warriors reference)
I can not wait to get my hands on that Earplugs V charm
edit: I hope those rubber chicken pendants squeak as you swing your weapon around
THE most important is the jewel melding. My God it took me 2500 hours to finally get a Shield jewel. i know bow players tearing their hair out because they cant get the Mighty Bow jewel. These are jewels which are critical depending what weapon you play and it can make or break your ability to make armor sets i.e. i was stuck using Uragaan armor pieces until i finally got the shield jewel which opened up a whole range of new and different builds for me an HBG player.
i have played like 500hrs, and i never have thar Sharp jewel so far
I hope decorations go back to all being craftable in the next gen.
might bow is the one that actually changes the damage/weapon shield is like uh so you cant just superman dive ok just block amd sharp jewel well just get masters touch
I'm glad to have been apart of this generation of Fivers.
And here I am still needing to fight Alatreon. I can't wait to see what they put out on Switch!
An Akantor walks into a bar and sits beside a Ukanlos on the counter.
Akantor: *_It was a good generation, right?_*
Ukanlos: *_Dunno, we weren't there._*
They really did safi and alatreon dirty with this one
I JUST got my mighty bow decoration last night. A little frustrating but glad they're finally acknowledging this problem.
I like that in the montage they had parts from the world trailers and iceborne trailer so remember being so so excited during this time back in the summer of 2017 it just was so different back it very nostalgic
That's a very ambitious plan.
My god get over it already.
"iT's FrEe So It CaN sUcK"
Is basically what you are saying
@@cartoonvideos5 I have no clue how you got that out of what I said. What I'm saying is that we should be thankful that we've been getting free content after launch instead of having to pay a ridiculous amount for the tiniest bit like EA or ActiBlizz would do and we shouldn't be expecting the game to be getting new content until the end of time. I never said anything about it sucking. I'm agreeing with the point made at that timestamp.
@@Dw7freak oh I'm just salty

But all jokes aside, im proud to have been on this roller coaster ride from day 1!!! Amazing Fifth gen experience, and i hope and pray the Sixth does even better! Love the folks at Capcom 🙏🏾
7:20 That's Devilotte's mecha from Cyberbots: The Super 8. Cute reference.
We're crying now suddenly....but no worries there's always another jouney ahead of us.
For those who aren't aware, the weapon supply cache quests are suppose to have a guaranteed drop of 3 sealed feystones.
I think this is the same exact Fatalis from monhunt 1. Either it got revived via it's unnatural healing abilities, or our previous hunter put on that armor one too many times.
All I can say is... Thank you, Capcom. Their love for this game shows thoroughly with every generation.
Ome other thing to note: at 9:02, it shows Fatalis' icon. Why is this noteworthy? To any longtime MH player you'll know that Fatalis had only a large question mark as its icon before(for some reason) but now its FINALLY officially been made.
I do think the next game will possibly be for the switch
Man, you called that one right on the money!
Rise was announce like 2 days later
Why am I crying ? This dlc was soo good thanks capcom and thanks gaijin for the vids
I hope I’m not the only one to notice, but above where they list the 3 special arena event quests there are 2 more event quests that we haven’t heard discussed
Also, to the type of people who you mentioned at the top of the video.
Capcom focusing on a new game lets the Main Team focus on making a new game optimized for PS5/Next-Gen Xbox/SSDs.etc
I wouldn't be surprised if the next MH game is a iteration on Iceborne's formula led by the MH Generations Team with the Assistance of the Frontier Team as a Cross-Gen Multiplatform game.
