@@sonar_bandit Do you ever watch The Orville? It takes a mo to pick up and ditch some of the sillier comedy elements, but the bones are Star Trek from day one and it only gets better. Highly recommended!

What I love so much about this is, this is what I would hear if I was onboard the Enterprise and laying down for a nap in a guest bedroom in Data’s quarters. I’d hear him go about his day, beeps always penetrate through walls or around the corner, Spot would come into the room and possibly jump up on the bed and purr near me, I’d hear people come and go in the main front area, and I’d be content. It reminds me of my childhood, being put to bed early while parents were still up and I could hear them in the living room, it’s comforting. And Spot’s audio is perfect (purrfect) because he comes to visit me in the bedroom sometimes, when he’s purring loudly, and other times he’s meowing for food in the other room where Data is. I’ve listened to this constantly since it came out. I’m in Data’s guest bedroom any time I need to take a break and go to a safe place, or want to go to bed. I guess I live with Data now, and Spot ❤️
A scenario I imagined reading this: "Data, I'm heading to bed in the guest room! Will you shut the lights for me?" "I will. It will be a while yet before I, too, retire for the evening. I hope I do not disturb you- have a pleasant sleep." "Thanks. Oh, plop Spot on the bed in here, would you? I love to hear her purring next to me." *Data brings Spot in, lays her next to you, and slightly crooks his head* "If Spot's vocal oscillations reflect her preferences, it appears that she enjoys this sleeping arrangement too." ❤️
Data is such a relatable and comforting character for me and i love to go to sleep to this creating my own “safe world” to fall asleep in. its a little weird, i’ll admit. whatever gets me slowed down enough to sleep at this point, i’ll take. goodnight!
When he's functioning within normal parameters, theres nowhere safer to sleep than Data's quarters. He has the strength of ten men, never sleeps, and had lazer sharp accuracy with a phaser gun. And if im still awake, I like to pretend to yell at him for practicing his music while im trying to sleep :D
I’ve always loved how both fantastically artistic his place is with all of the things he loves and creates, and that he had the most killer office out of all of the crew that was in his quarters. Even Captain Picard. His place is both homey and cozy. It exhibits all the things he loves. Even if you look in the corner of his bedroom you see his Sherlock Holmes outfit hanging with his hat. Yet, he’s an android. But the most human of people. A precious and kind person. Data is my dude. ❤😊

In my alternate universe the movies didn't happen and our crew from the series are still serenely sailing thru the galaxy on their mission... no ones dead (other than yar) that died in movies, everyone intact and happy with whatever kinder ❤ TV friendly adventures to deal. So this nerd loves this ambiance to exist in my happy space. Sometimes you need that escape.

I can't personally recommend this video for sleeping as the conversations kept waking me up, but as background noise, the variety of 'events' is very impressive and the location is immersive and believable. I can see value in a nighttime version of just the boops and hum, occasional soft purring, and maybe occasional footsteps outside. I know Data doesn't sleep, but let's call it an extended away mission. This video also has me thinking, is Spot really confined to Data's quarters alone? Who looks after them when he's away? Spot deserves his own mini holodeck for cat things and business.
I think it's because the Enterprise D was such a major part of my life that the sound of the enterprise through the light low pitch hum of the engines and power supply and so on have formed a basis by which I feel comforted and reassured. So much so that to not hear them makes me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. It's nice knowing that in the end, these simple noises are essentially white noise by which my mind associates it's presence with comfort and security.
There are times when I need some brown noise to block out unwanted noise from others. This is now my "go to" for that purpose. A little tip for those who might want to fall asleep to this: if you want an hour, then go to the 7 hour mark, if you want 30 minutes, go to 7.30 etc.
Data was known to listen to 9 different compositions all at once while sitting in his quarters. He was capable of listening to 150 but preferred under 10 to try to grasp the music better.
Star Trek was a place you wanted to spend time in, with people you wanted to know, hang out with and go on adventures with. It was a place you just wanted to be in. Nu-trek is none of those things.
It would be nice to have a version of the TNG Day Bridge without the footsteps ender4life. Im really getting into falling asleep to this channel but those footsteps are too distracting for me. I get there is a nightshift but I like all the other noises besides the constant pacing.
I love it but I wish I'd be able to hear the voices more. I mostly just hear the engine. If the engine was a bit quieter it would be better. I don't use these to sleep btw, it seems a lot of people do. The engine kinda makes my head hurt after a little bit. And I can't turn it up to hear the details without the engine hurting me more :/ could you maybe do a version where it's not meant for sleep listening so the engine is quieter and the voices are more understandable? Everything I'd great about this except the engine hurting me 😩

Oh awesome i just mentioned on another vid that i would like to see a vid like these but with crew conversations. Im jumping around hoping to find one but cant seem too. Also im not sure if maybe my hearing isnt amazing or something but i cant seem to hear the cat purring either. @@yjwrangler7819 the images are not stills, they’re Ken Burns style moving images specifically so it doesn’t burn into your screen. Also they change every 10-20 seconds.
