I bought it Yesterday ..in a German Knive Shop (Klingenladen) ..The Aurora II in Ambosina Burl and CPM 3V ..and ..OH Boy !! The best Knive i´ve ever had ..ok the "Autine Leuku" is also a Beast and a Beauty (with Scandi edge , D2 Steel , and Handsharpen to Mirror Polish (Absolute Mirror and Hairsplitting Sharp ..) But the Bark River is SUCH a Great Performing Knive ..first i wanted the Normal Aurora because i wantet "Not such a big knive" but All in All i have big hands and it looks like a Medium size to me (a big Medium LoL) Man ! This Knive is a BEAUTY (and a Biest of course ..)..i needed two years to finally choose a Bark River (its never too late) The Aurora in Normal Size are Completeley Sold Out ..and All in All i m Happy with my Choice . It MAYBE looks like sa Kitchen knife in the Video (my Wife says the same ..) Till you have it in your Hands with the Strong Spine and the Konvex Edge (No Second bevel) That makes it REALLY Different from a Kitchen Knife ..but ..of Course ..you can also do VERY good Food preparation with this knife
I had a 3 and it really is much more like a mid level kitchen chef knife ; almost like a Tromatina or French style chef knife. I was very disappointed. Sent it back.
Hi, the best thing to do is to send them an email requesting to be added to the custom build schedule. It could take 3-5 mouths before your turn comes up. You will need to mail them your knife for the custom fit. You will also need to provide them with very specific instructions on what features you want (type of sheath, accessories/options, color of leather, color of stitching, etc.…). Accordingly,they will provide you with a quote.
I want this setup so bad.
