    Wow, what a nice, comprehensive review for anyone wanting a comparison, trying to decide which Aurora model would be best for their needs. Very well done, Fredrik..thanks.

    I'm becoming obsessed with getting an Aurora. Your excellent video made my obsession even worse. I was thinking it would be the LT, but after seeing the II, I'm torn. Beautiful collection you've got.

    Another detailed video lots of work went into this one I bet. Man I love these bark river knifes super functional and beautiful ill have to send you a picture of the bravo 3 I bought on your suggestion a few months ago that the start of my bark river collection thanks for getting me into expensive fixed blades lol

      Thank you, Nate! Making this video wasn't too much work, and I could've done some more comparisons in it, but I'm still happy that I just got it made to begin with. Been thinking about it ever since the release of the Aurora III. Also, happy to have gotten you into the expensive fixed blade-world. Kind of easy to get into, but a lot harder to get out of, heh. ;)

    @Pink G10 Can you make a video comparing the Aurora 2 and the Cub? I am on the fence of picking up one or the other as my primary field knife.

    • @PinkG10
      @PinkG10  4 роки тому +1

      I'll try to make that video happen, lots of stuff going on right now, though. I do find the Aurora II to be a WAY more versatile, useful and ergonomic knife compared to the Cub.

      @@PinkG10 That is what I was leaning too and I get that from watching all of your videos. How do you think it compares to the Bravo 1.25 LT?

    • @SantiagoMenendez
      @SantiagoMenendez 3 роки тому

      @@matthewm7326 maybe it’s a little late but between A2 and B1.25 LT, it comes down to the handle. I have both and the aurora handle fits my hand better. Both handles are great but the palm swell is placed in a different part. A handle has the palm swell a bit higher closer to the ricasso. Hope it helps.

    BRK Aurora = best knives ever!!! I have it all too, in my favorite style: Full high grind, white linen micarta, black liners, standart pins! WOW! Hunter, Scandi, LT are not in my range, i dont like.

      I'd like to add a few FHG's to my Aurora-family, especially one FHG Mini-Aurora and FHG Aurora II. Oh, and like I stated in my video, the only Aurora-models I'm not a fan of, is the Hunter-models. Taking the Kalahari-blade and adding a Aurora-handle doesn't, in my humble opinion, make it an Aurora-model. Just my two cents.

    • @PinkG10
      @PinkG10  3 роки тому +2

      I much prefer the Aurora II over the Cub. The Aurora II has a better blade and handle design, imo. The Aurora II is also lighter, which is a plus.

  • @ReeferNoob23

    What is that cross emblem on your non face side of the blade? The side of my bravo 3 is plain

    • @PinkG10
      @PinkG10  4 роки тому

      That is the "compass-mark", which is etched on all bushcraft-oriented knives made by Bark River. You'll not find that mark on your Bravo 3, nor any other of your Bravo-models. One could argue that it should have been etched on the Bravo Alpha, though. And maybe some other Bravo-models too ...

    Nice videos buddy, you go I to a lot of detail and it's very helpful. I'm looking for a new bushcraft knife and I've narrowed it down to 2 the trc south pole and this the Aurora, was just wondering what your input is between these 2 beautiful knives, I'm leaning more towards the trc south pole but any advice on then would be much appreciated as you have a lot of use on both and can be a better judge. Thanks for reading this and many luck to you in the future keep up the awesome reviews

    • @PinkG10

      Thank you! I'm a bit inconsistent, with some reviews being in very great detail, whereas other are just simple overviews of sorts. It's usually due to time (or lack of it) that dictates the length of the review, but I want my channel to strive for more in-detail content, that's for sure. In regards to your question; for actual bushcrafting, the Aurora LT/Aurora II, might be your best pick, since it's a dedicated bushcrafting-knife. I will say, though, that if I could only own either the Aurora LT or the South Pole, I'd pick the South Pole, since I think it's the better overall/allaround knife. If I had to pick between only owning the Aurora II and the South Pole, I'd pick the Aurora II, since I just love that model so much, and have loved it for a long, long time. I guess you could say we've grown together over the years, and it's in fact one of my favorite knives of all time. I do think you should pick up a South Pole one day. TRC, imho, makes the finest knives there are, with the highest quality consistency I've ever seen.

      @@PinkG10 thanks for responding, yeh been looking at both for a while now just gathering opinions on each one from other peoples perspectives, I'm the kind of guy who collects folders but when it comes to fixed blades il use one till its falling apart, I currently own my esee junglas wich I've used at least 3-4 times a week for the last 5 years still going strong, but the two bushcraft knives my two Mora companions in carbon and stainless are ready for the bin so looking for an upgrade to something that will last me a few years. Thanks one again for your time you put into your videos and look forward to more content and thanks for your input on both knives.
