  • Every cell in your body is designed to make a copy of itself at varying rates based on the cell’s designated function. Your body has a tremendous ability to balance all of these activities including safeguards to ensure that they continue to function properly. When these safeguards fail, cells can grow uncontrollably. This is what cancer is: cells growing incorrectly as a result of errors in the DNA or RNA, known as mutations, which affect protein function. These abnormal growths are called “tumors.” Tumor cells have mutations which break down the cell’s defense, allowing it to develop unchecked. Because tumors arise from your body’s own cells, cancer can grow and spread to the rest of your body undetected by your immune system.

@@thomasholm9190 The way they explained it in the video makes it sound very scary and undermines the complexity of cell growth. The way that a cell can just slightly disfunction and cause a massive tumor is quite scary, it mostly depends where in the body the tumor is created and when it is discovered.
