Here's the crazy part, I had a blockage in my main line underneath the house. Called a plumber and they literally said, oh it will be $500. I'm like, what? $500 just to come out and clean a clog?? Ok you know what, LOLL so I can pay for this tool at home depot for $405 it already paid for itself in 1 use. THANKS! Sheesh, maybe they'd make more money if things were a bit more service friendly.
I have 100 ft cable . At about 65 ft it is bad kink. Can i cut a 6 inch peice out Nd use some type hardware to attach back together? I have a weilder and beginner skils usimg it
Mike looks almost identical to the Harbor Freight that is blue! The Hydrostar, Mike I bought mine about 5 yrs ago $179 the auto feed identical features they are about $400 now and it’s still holding up wasn’t all janky when I got it home lol 😂
I saw that HF last time I was there. Looks good but I think it was a 50ft model and I was looking for 100 ft cable unit. Not sure if that Hydrostar would take a longer cable. Might have been a better choice if so. Thanks for watching Michael!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews yes sir it’s definitely 50’ I added another 50’ which was definitely needed if I remember correctly it was an additional $49.00 back then!
That’s price seams fair to me. Just curious where you live. Prices seem to vary a lot by location. I would guess in Chicago you’d be at least $300 although it’s been a long time since I was forced to call a plumber. Thanks for watching John!
I had a plumber come out and clean a nasty clog in the house I bought and it was $180. It took him a couple hours to do. When the clog came back I bought the small Ridgid. When the clog came back again (I think it might be stuff falling down the vent pipes) and I couldn't reach it with the small one, I bought the bigger one. No complaints so far.
You are going to have fun when one of those bolts come loose and you now have one of your bits stuck in the pipe. Oh, too late. lol I have the Ridgid and it was more expensive, but built much better. The also say that you should always have a hand on the cable when running it so you can feel when it starts to bind up.
HaHa MAGA! Hindsight is 20/20 my friend. Honestly I’m amazed I don’t screw up more often on the channel. It’s a shame that drums loose, this one looked pretty nice out of the box. Thanks as always for watching!
Mike, as always, nice job. The most impressive thing...the shine on your boots. Great attention to detail and pride in your self. I can't buy any more Vevor stuff because I believe it is a direct link to the CCP (crazy, huh? ). I did once, buy a router plane from them to see if it would be something I needed. After mastering the task, I got a router plane from Veritas (good Canadian company).
Buy a good magnet, attach it to your snake, and pick up the cutter. You should find a shop that can press on a new sealed bearing to the shaft. I hope the shaft itself isn't low-strength steel. You do have a wobble. Your video is the first one that I've observed that issue. I just ordered the VEVOR 100"x3/4" snake. Now I'm concerned about the quality of the shaft as that shouldn't be going bad after a few uses. Hang in there.
Let us know how yours turns out Jerome. This is a couple times a year use max tool for me so the possibility of less than stellar quality doesn’t scare me too much. I’ll probably do a yearly clean out of that pipe and borrow this out to friends occasionally. Just handy to have around when it’s needed. Thanks for watching!
You will spend more time to entangle the cable than work, don't waste your money on it. Cable too weak and tangle inside the drum, its pain in the butt.

I have the 50’ one from Harbor Freight. I haven’t had any real issues with it. One of the wheels came off, but nothing wrong with the operation.
I saw that one last time I was at the HF. Looked pretty good. Glad it’s working out for ya! Thanks for watching!
Can you just change the size cable that goes in the drum ?
Thanks for the review Mike. Do you have the link to that inspection camera?

I just paid my local plumbing shop $188 to run a 1/2" rodder through my sewer.
