With myself being a huge fan of Kobalt 24v tools I'm disappointed in the quality build of the table saw. I'm glad that I did buy the Skil 10in a couple of years ago. Thanks for doing the review on it to keep me from wasting my money
Ive heard good things about the Kobalt 24v tools. About eight years ago after burning out an M18 drill I almost bought a full set of those Kobalt tools. Milwaukee popped a serious sale on M18 stuff with big batteries and I jumped on that. Id like to get back to some hand power tools soon, Kobalts def going to be included in that. The original plan was to do a comparison vid with this and the Skil but the Kobalt did so poorly I doubt we'll end up doing it. Getting multiple videos out of a product is good business for me. The Skil is a very good saw and I have multiple vids on that one you can watch. I feel if we did a comparison we would just end up hating on this one the whole time (deservingly). I’ve had this saw since April and I absolutely love it. Had problems adjusting the bevel with it on the stand and the dust hose honked up but that’s the only issue I’ve found. 4 stars for sure
Last winter my nephew hollered at me, and we went to look at a cabinet replacement job, in a rental, where the owner didn't want to spend any money. So already, you know where my head was..."Let's git outta here!" But...no. He took the job, then looks at me and asks what we need for tools. I had everything required except a mobile table saw... wasn't moving my Unisaw for a three day job, y'know? He bought that Kobalt. The directions for the stand took some time to understand but once I wrapped my head around it stuff went together just fine. Used a dial indicator on a homemade mini-sled of sorts to check blade and fence for true. Blade - +/- 0.001" deviation. Fence - 0.015 toe-in. I adjusted to my preferred 0.005" toe-out and got to work. It cut sheet goods of nominal 3/4" ply and 1/2" particleboard with no problem using a 40 tooth Diablo 7 1/4" blade. It ripped 1 by poplar and hem/fir tubafors with a 40 tooth Irwin Marathon 10" blade no problem. All cuts were square and clean. All joinery was done with a router either freehand or in a table, so no stack dado required. All in all, I thought it was as good as the DeWalt 8"ers I've spent hundreds of hours on as the cutter in a hardwood flooring crew. I almost want to believe you got a "Monday morning" saw, Mike. If it was me, and I could see the miter slot was effed up (and I would have, as my mini-sled is on a 12" aluminum bar milled to 0.745", and certainly would not have negotiated the ten-thou wobble in the slot you have) I'd be all for taking the assembled saw, and all the packing material right straight back to Lowe's for a prompt and courteous refund...just sayin'
Mike, you're absolutely right, one does get what one pays for. Do any of them not have plastic gears? I know I could go back into your library and check, but I enjoy hearing from you. Listen, this is another thumbs up review. Remember, there are thousands of us depending on your opinion to make our next purchase. So far my DeWalt is in the lead, then the Bosch, and definitely the red Skil is a competitor. These are a long way ahead of my first job site saw which was a Craftsmen (built lots of stuff with it) that resides in my son-in-law's basement and is used on an emergency basis. Looking forward to that Master Force vid.
Hey Meat! Metal gears come with the class and price above this. Probably the cheapest saw Ive done so far with metal is the 8-1/4 Skilsaw, which is one of my favorites. 25 inch rip and 2-5/8 depth with worm drive its basically a slightly smaller very high quality version of the red Skil. $450 right now which is a nice mid point and scissor stand is separate for $70. I like when you're not forced to buy a stand you may not need. I very much doubt I'll ever part with that saw. The Kobalt was a big disappointment IMO but I have high hopes for the Masterforce. I still can't believe there isn't a single vid on YT for that saw, should be interesting!! Thanks for watching!!

As an engineer I will do not understand the logic behind decisions like plastic gears, there are times to skimp if you need to get price down but when it comes to things like gears metal all the way! A table saw intent is to make accurate cuts so do nit skimp on anything that involves that skimp on things like the wheels, covers, etc.
I bought the Skil a year or so ago and I have used it quite a bit. Recently I had to rip some 2” hickory boards (a full 2 inches). I used a CMT rip blade and went right through the hickory like it was a big box 2x6. Heck of a saw. The blade was slightly out of true with the miter slot and it took five minutes to get it dead on. It’s been perfect since then. Miter gauge is junk but we all expect that. Great onboard storage for power cord, blade wrenches, blade guard and pawls (spelling??). Happy since day one.
Well... glad to see you finally get to the Kobalt 10" 15amp table saw! Sorry to see the one you have is apparently the "next gen" version from mine. And REALLY sorry to see the thing is such junk! Mine is much different-- not junk. Kobalt's design department seems to have suffered a stroke with this gross injustice to job saws. Glad I got mine before this one came out...I appreciate your efforts!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews Always a pleasure to watch your very thorough reviews. The model # of mine is KT10152. The prior iteration was 10151. Many differences from yours: mine has a sheet steel front, no rack and pinion for the fence (just slides very easily by hand), Stand is very similar, but my saw is built different, so... And the table is much more robust: no coating that flakes off, no aberrations in the slots. If can just find one to look at off-camera, I think you'll be quite surprised!
I'm with you. The flatness of the table and miter slots can't suffer that much slop. I don't mind doing a little "touch up" after cutting but I shouldn't have to completely recut all sides to being it back into square. Thanks for the warning on this one.
Thanks for the review! I've been looking for my first table saw and it came down to this Kobalt or the red Skil, because Lowes put them both at $299. I'm glad I waited for this video before making my purchase because I need a reliable and accurate saw. Great review!
I bought an earlier version of this saw about 5 years ago. There’s a lot more metal than this one. The table is much better and the miter slots are straight and square to the blade. My biggest issue with it was the fence. It was before the rack and pinion. It would take some time in between cuts to square it up. I ended up building an out feed table around it, and making my own fence out of a 4’ extruded aluminum rail. It worked out a lot better. I still have the saw inside the table, but now I am using the Delta. That was a nice upgrade.
Kobalt, Skil and masterforce are all owned by the same parent company, Chervon. I think all three saws share a little bit of the same DNA in my opinion, that's why the plates are so close, but I'm also of the opinion skil is still the best budget table saw. I have not seen anything on the masterforce saw though I can't wait for that review
When setting up a dado set you really don’t need the washer if it won’t fit. Tightening up a single saw blade differs versus a dado stack of blades because the added thickness removes any flex.
First, love your channel and watch every video so I can see an honest review pointing out the good and bad and some times even the ugly. Been looking into buying 1 of these type of saws so been watching your videos very carefully. This was in consideration but now after seeing this, this is not in consideration now. Maybe you were the unfortunate 1 to get a bad saw, but it is hard to think this isn't something in manufacturing. No was that table is a 1 off type of thing. Thank for you doing this review and look forward to more of your great reviews. Keep up the great content.
Great review as always, I have to say It's not causing me to leave my Red Skil, The Skil does more than I could expect from it, yes, it's not a 5hp 220V cabinet saw, but if you don't crowd it the saw performs just as revied and expected, anyhow great content as always!
That Skil is $266.11 after rebate at Menards right now. It's a crazy good deal. It'll take a very savvy designer to produce a better saw for the money. Thanks for watching Dusty!!
I don't regret "splurging" on my M18 jobsite table saw. Been doing dado cuts for a project and it just feels like it was actually designed to do it. I'm in a old house that has a lot of outlets on the same breaker across multiple floors. I'm renting. Love my landlord and the rent I pay. But re-wiring the house so I can run a table saw in the cellar while my girlfriend microwaves food in the kitchen would be a pretty big ask. And something future tenets wouldn't benefit from. I was already on the M18 platform so it felt like it made sense but it was definitely not the most frugal option. But no regrets spending the $200 "premium" and there is a lot of competition in the portable saw market which is awesome for us. Thanks!
My buddy was talking about this saw, but the one without the stand -- comparing it to the skill *WITH* the stand... I ended up getting the skil on sale at a steal of a price, but shipped from china (still in transit, be here this weekend). I'm glad I went skil over this. I think the one thing that looked weird is that it looks so close, and has a model number close to the skil -- I'd be they're made in the same factory.. this saw is model number "TS10602" I believe (wihtout stand) where as the Skil is "TS6307-00" -- walmart lists the manufacturer as Chervon-Skil, so I wouldn't be surprised if Skil is actually making the Kobalt and just rebranding it for them. The one thing that seems different is the rip capacity. the kobalt is listed at 32.5 where the skill is listed at 25.5. Does it matter? maybe, maybe not?
Couple general things. One, i wish companies would not leave rough finishes on these table tops. Tops need to be smooth. Second, miter gauges can be much better, even if they are plastic. This saw in particular, absolutely not. Miter slots are as important to a saws function as the fence. Also, I'm not sure about the wood being used but i saw a lot of rocking which, if its the top, can't give finished cuts.
Use the provided Allen wrench in the little holes on the plate, and it adjusts the height. No grinding needed. I just got one of these today. My only gripe is so far I am unable to install the blade guard. It just doesn't click in.
Hey there Mike, just happened upon this video, and while I am not in the market for a saw, thought I would watch it for the heck of it. I have always been a fan of Kobalt, but one word here: Chervon! It is touch and go on some of their stuff, and by and large they are Ok, but there is going to be cost cutting! Based on your video, I would not go near this saw. Loved the commentary on the “dystructions!” 😆 Really liked your video work, Your voice, and your style and sense of humor, so I smashed that SUBScribe button ! 😃 @ 25:20 😯 Please be careful when feeding material, as I watched your left hand ‘creep’ beyond the edge of the table saw! I worked in the trades in another ‘Season of Life,’ and had a finger go in a blade; I was fortunate and only lost a tiny part of my index finger! I have a 25 year old Makita 8&1/4” table saw that just keeps on and on. Not a great fence, but it will flat out blow away any of these modern job site saws. I also have the big Gravity Rise Bosch table saw, and ummm, yeah, Love/ Hate relationship with that thing! Weird surface that constantly needs to be waxed, and a contrary fence design, whilst very accurate, but very finicky. Stay safe ! 👍💪✌🇺🇸😊
Just picked one of these up. Lowes has them on sale for $270. Probably should have watched reviews, but it was the only 10 inch saw with a decent wheeled stand under $300 available. Or at least of those it seemed the best option, the other Kobolt stand didn't seem as nice though it was $50 cheaper. Buying stand-alone saws and a stand was over my $300 budget as well. As I have been using an old Ryobi BTS10 with plywood and clamps as a fence, this still seems to be an upgrade to me.
Well, saw was delivered. The box was beat up with a significant puncture on one side. When layed flat from standing on end it rattled with plastic and metal parts falling inside the box. The tape on the box was clearly a home job and not factory. Checked inside to see how bad it was, parts of the fence were shattered, along with the tools and likely other stuff moving around at the bottom. Took some pics, packed it back up and its being returned. If this wasn't a previous return, I'd be surprised.
Would like to see a review of the grizzly g0870, it's pretty expensive when it's not on sale but i'm curious to see how it compares with the higher end jobsite saws
That Grizzly has been on radar and short list for a while. It's also known as the Oliver 10010 and possibly other brands. I occasionally check for sales on this one and well definitely do it when the price is right. Thanks for watching Joshua!!
Thanks for the overview and review. Now I know not to purchase this table saw. But as far as demonstrating the dado blade, you ripped a groove instead of crossing cutting a dado. :)
That high spot on blade guard is likely in part, due to the low dip in the top. I wish manufactures would lightly surface grind the tops to alleviate any highs or dips caused from the casting process.
I know that I asked you to review this saw. I thought it was an amazing value. Not even close. First saw: riving knife was crooked, the bevel adjustment lever broke off, and the throat plate was warped. Exchanged for another one hoping I had a lemon. Second saw: motor kept tripping my breaker with minimal load, and the bevel lock wouldn’t lock. Set it at 90° and it would shift ~10° immediately after turning the motor on. Jokes on me; returned it. They clearly don’t have any quality control. Avoid Kobalt at all costs. I ended up going with the Delta 36-725T2 and I’m very happy with it.
Ive gotten multiple requests for this on over the last year. It turned out to be a big disappointment. You should check out this weeks vid of the Masterforce. It uses many of the Kobalt's parts but is looks like a little better quality with some value added features for just a little more money. I think it's interesting when 2 companies release the same product with different strategies and outcomes. There's no beating that Delta IMO. Well be doing the Ridgid clone R4560 in about a month to update my 2 year old Delta vid. Thanks for watching!
I have the previous generation. Works well. I love some of the changes but not all. My table does not have a finish, but I don't have the rack and pinion fence. I wonder if some of your issues are coating related.
You forgot to show the portability of a portable table saw, are wheels worth it compared to just having a saw stand? I have Dewalt saw that is very similar to this size, but mine is bolted to a stand with dust bag underneath. But what I'd rather hath more then anything is a saw that wont bang into high speed soon as switch it turned on, I always hated that, and variable speed would be nice to, but must be under $300.00.....
Chevron makes a lot of kobalt tools and also Skil tools so there is a good chance chevron made this saw so in a since its a sister saw to the skil table saw
Probably better to get something used that's better built for the same price or cheaper. Might be a good idea for a video? Set a price and see what you can find and maybe what beginners should look out for? All companies are doing this now a days. This is going to be a rich mans world sooner than some might think.
My current saw is a 60 yo Delta contractor with solid cast wings and Jet-Lock fence. Got it for $60 from an ad in Offer-Up. It was exactly what I was looking for, at a third the price I was willing to pay. I did have to do some cleanup, and I replaced the arbor bearings (not req'd except for peace of mind) and a couple rattle cans worth of paint...and of course some elbow grease. All in all... $110 for a daily driver that will actually rip 8/4 oak without screaming, hold a 13/16" stack dado and cut accurate dadoes on ply and solid woods, make cuts for hours (literally) without burning up and is a saw I don't have to hide in the corner when the gang comes around. They are out there, boys and girls, if you are willing to look...and if you (or someone you trust) know what to look for. Just sayin'
Been a while since I checked marketplace for contractor and cabinet saws. There's a never-ending list of great stuff available here in Chicagoland. Multiple Unisaws, Delta 36725-t2's, tons of old Craftsmans and a wealth of commercial grade stuff for cheap. Ive never used a 14 inch blade, 800lbs Delta/Rockwell table saw, but it looks like a good time!

In other news, was in Harbor Freight recently and went with the Hercules planer since I’m not doing anything fancy and don’t need DeWalt (and it’s lighter too), so if you don’t wanna spend the cash on it, pop by Orlando and test here (and take a Disney vacation while you’re at it lol)
This isn't a *bad* saw, but certain aspects are. I purchased this expressly because it has a rack & pinion fence system. I've been trying to cut decent 90s with everybody else's old saw. I figured that this would at least come from the factory with right angles as a given. My bad. The fence is 1.5° out of true, with no way to fine-tune alignment? Fine for building decks, I suppose, but not for actual woodworking. Now I have to essentially REBUILD this fence system in order to get my money's worth out of this saw, having borrowed money to get this so I could finally cut a 90. Unacceptable...
I bought the Skil. Much better rolling stand and at the price point I got it for on Amazon day, I could not be happier. The Kobalt just looks like made in China junk to me!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews - honestly, the Ryobi table saw video can be less than a minute. Stand in front of the display at Home Depot, and have a chorus of people yelling “no” compiled behind it. Trust me, I run a LOT of Ryobi, but if I was gifted one, I’d still return it for a refund. The mitre saws are decent enough (stay on top of calibrating tho), circ saws need a 4ah battery minimum and a few prayers, recip works just fine. There, video done.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews KT10152. My biggest gripe about it is the throat plate is plastic. But I always make my own zero clearance for these saws, so for me that isn't a deal breaker. I also had the model before this one, which I believe was the KT1015, but the KT10152 is the much better saw. The KT1015 had a fence that was a different design that was trash. The KT10152 has a better fence of the variety that sits on the adjustable pegs, so it stays square once you set the pegs properly. No rack and pinion style adjustment, but it slides manually and you can simply unlock and lightly tap it one way or the other to make small adjustments. Granted the rack and pinion style fence is a better design, but even without that, I've never found the adjustments of the fence of this KT10152 to be a problem. Based on the schematic and parts replacement list, these saws were either designed and/or made by Delta, as Delta had a jobsite saw and stand that was nearly identical. The KT10152 is not a perfect saw, but based on what I see from your review of this newer Kobalt, I am glad I have the previous gen Kobalt. I believe that it originally sold for $349, or something close to that price. I think I got mine for a little less than that when I bought it. As far as I know, the KT10152 is discontinued, though from what I understand, recently some still floated around on Lowe's floors for clearance prices. You might have to browse the internet, eBay, etc. to find one, or perhaps find someone in your area who already owns one. I'd send you mine, but uhhhh....shipping something this size from California to where you live would probably cost a fortune. Anyway, if you can find one for a reasonable price, it might be worth a look.
Both earlier saws weren't good either I had the first model the fence was junk and the blade lift bent a year and half after I got it and broke the next model wasn't any better
@@davidcorliss The first model's fence was trash. I also had an issue with the blade lift on that one. Haven't had any issues with either with the second gen.
Actually all of the boards did and some of it got edited out in post. There was a lot of wobble and all of those same boards were used for test cuts in the Bosch GTS vid I recently did. I didn't notice it was that bad unit I was editing. Im planning to recheck it with the straight edge and feeler gauge. I'll let you guys know if I find anything significant. I'm with you. The flatness of the table and miter slots can't suffer that much slop. I don't mind doing a little "touch up" after cutting but I shouldn't have to completely recut all sides to being it back into square. Thanks for the warning on this one.

I bought an earlier version of this saw about 5 years ago. There’s a lot more metal than this one. The table is much better and the miter slots are straight and square to the blade. My biggest issue with it was the fence. It was before the rack and pinion. It would take some time in between cuts to square it up. I ended up building an out feed table around it, and making my own fence out of a 4’ extruded aluminum rail. It worked out a lot better. I still have the saw inside the table, but now I am using the Delta. That was a nice upgrade.

Kobalt, Skil and masterforce are all owned by the same parent company, Chervon. I think all three saws share a little bit of the same DNA in my opinion, that's why the plates are so close, but I'm also of the opinion skil is still the best budget table saw. I have not seen anything on the masterforce saw though I can't wait for that review
When setting up a dado set you really don’t need the washer if it won’t fit. Tightening up a single saw blade differs versus a dado stack of blades because the added thickness removes any flex.
First, love your channel and watch every video so I can see an honest review pointing out the good and bad and some times even the ugly. Been looking into buying 1 of these type of saws so been watching your videos very carefully. This was in consideration but now after seeing this, this is not in consideration now. Maybe you were the unfortunate 1 to get a bad saw, but it is hard to think this isn't something in manufacturing. No was that table is a 1 off type of thing. Thank for you doing this review and look forward to more of your great reviews. Keep up the great content.
Great review as always, I have to say It's not causing me to leave my Red Skil, The Skil does more than I could expect from it, yes, it's not a 5hp 220V cabinet saw, but if you don't crowd it the saw performs just as revied and expected, anyhow great content as always!
That Skil is $266.11 after rebate at Menards right now. It's a crazy good deal. It'll take a very savvy designer to produce a better saw for the money. Thanks for watching Dusty!!
I don't regret "splurging" on my M18 jobsite table saw. Been doing dado cuts for a project and it just feels like it was actually designed to do it. I'm in a old house that has a lot of outlets on the same breaker across multiple floors. I'm renting. Love my landlord and the rent I pay. But re-wiring the house so I can run a table saw in the cellar while my girlfriend microwaves food in the kitchen would be a pretty big ask. And something future tenets wouldn't benefit from. I was already on the M18 platform so it felt like it made sense but it was definitely not the most frugal option. But no regrets spending the $200 "premium" and there is a lot of competition in the portable saw market which is awesome for us. Thanks!

My buddy was talking about this saw, but the one without the stand -- comparing it to the skill *WITH* the stand... I ended up getting the skil on sale at a steal of a price, but shipped from china (still in transit, be here this weekend). I'm glad I went skil over this.
I think the one thing that looked weird is that it looks so close, and has a model number close to the skil -- I'd be they're made in the same factory.. this saw is model number "TS10602" I believe (wihtout stand) where as the Skil is "TS6307-00" -- walmart lists the manufacturer as Chervon-Skil, so I wouldn't be surprised if Skil is actually making the Kobalt and just rebranding it for them.
The one thing that seems different is the rip capacity. the kobalt is listed at 32.5 where the skill is listed at 25.5. Does it matter? maybe, maybe not?
It's not a coincidence. Both Kobalt and Skil tool brands are made by Chervon. They also make Flex.
Couple general things. One, i wish companies would not leave rough finishes on these table tops. Tops need to be smooth. Second, miter gauges can be much better, even if they are plastic.
This saw in particular, absolutely not. Miter slots are as important to a saws function as the fence. Also, I'm not sure about the wood being used but i saw a lot of rocking which, if its the top, can't give finished cuts.
Use the provided Allen wrench in the little holes on the plate, and it adjusts the height. No grinding needed. I just got one of these today. My only gripe is so far I am unable to install the blade guard. It just doesn't click in.
The adjusting screws were backed all the way out hence the grinding. Fit nice after that and adjusted perfect. Thanks for watching!
Hey there Mike, just happened upon this video, and while I am not in the market for a saw, thought I would watch it for the heck of it. I have always been a fan of Kobalt, but one word here: Chervon! It is touch and go on some of their stuff, and by and large they are Ok, but there is going to be cost cutting!

@ 25:20 😯 Please be careful when feeding material, as I watched your left hand ‘creep’ beyond the edge of the table saw! I worked in the trades in another ‘Season of Life,’ and had a finger go in a blade; I was fortunate and only lost a tiny part of my index finger!
I have a 25 year old Makita 8&1/4” table saw that just keeps on and on. Not a great fence, but it will flat out blow away any of these modern job site saws. I also have the big Gravity Rise Bosch table saw, and ummm, yeah, Love/ Hate relationship with that thing! Weird surface that constantly needs to be waxed, and a contrary fence design, whilst very accurate, but very finicky.

Just picked one of these up. Lowes has them on sale for $270. Probably should have watched reviews, but it was the only 10 inch saw with a decent wheeled stand under $300 available. Or at least of those it seemed the best option, the other Kobolt stand didn't seem as nice though it was $50 cheaper. Buying stand-alone saws and a stand was over my $300 budget as well. As I have been using an old Ryobi BTS10 with plywood and clamps as a fence, this still seems to be an upgrade to me.
Well, saw was delivered. The box was beat up with a significant puncture on one side. When layed flat from standing on end it rattled with plastic and metal parts falling inside the box. The tape on the box was clearly a home job and not factory. Checked inside to see how bad it was, parts of the fence were shattered, along with the tools and likely other stuff moving around at the bottom. Took some pics, packed it back up and its being returned. If this wasn't a previous return, I'd be surprised.
Would like to see a review of the grizzly g0870, it's pretty expensive when it's not on sale but i'm curious to see how it compares with the higher end jobsite saws

Thanks for the overview and review. Now I know not to purchase this table saw. But as far as demonstrating the dado blade, you ripped a groove instead of crossing cutting a dado. :)
That high spot on blade guard is likely in part, due to the low dip in the top.
I wish manufactures would lightly surface grind the tops to alleviate any highs or dips caused from the casting process.

I know that I asked you to review this saw. I thought it was an amazing value. Not even close.
First saw: riving knife was crooked, the bevel adjustment lever broke off, and the throat plate was warped. Exchanged for another one hoping I had a lemon.
Second saw: motor kept tripping my breaker with minimal load, and the bevel lock wouldn’t lock. Set it at 90° and it would shift ~10° immediately after turning the motor on. Jokes on me; returned it.
They clearly don’t have any quality control. Avoid Kobalt at all costs.
I ended up going with the Delta 36-725T2 and I’m very happy with it.
Ive gotten multiple requests for this on over the last year. It turned out to be a big disappointment. You should check out this weeks vid of the Masterforce. It uses many of the Kobalt's parts but is looks like a little better quality with some value added features for just a little more money. I think it's interesting when 2 companies release the same product with different strategies and outcomes.
There's no beating that Delta IMO. Well be doing the Ridgid clone R4560 in about a month to update my 2 year old Delta vid. Thanks for watching!
I have the previous generation. Works well. I love some of the changes but not all. My table does not have a finish, but I don't have the rack and pinion fence. I wonder if some of your issues are coating related.
You forgot to show the portability of a portable table saw, are wheels worth it compared to just having a saw stand? I have Dewalt saw that is very similar to this size, but mine is bolted to a stand with dust bag underneath. But what I'd rather hath more then anything is a saw that wont bang into high speed soon as switch it turned on, I always hated that, and variable speed would be nice to, but must be under $300.00.....
My fence moves if you go beyond 26". I've adjusted all the locking mechanisms. Put clamp's on it, if I'm cutting multiple pieces.

Chevron makes a lot of kobalt tools and also Skil tools so there is a good chance chevron made this saw so in a since its a sister saw to the skil table saw
And possibly the masterforce saw
if the masterforce table is the same dimensions as the kobalt see if the fences are interchangable

Probably better to get something used that's better built for the same price or cheaper. Might be a good idea for a video? Set a price and see what you can find and maybe what beginners should look out for? All companies are doing this now a days. This is going to be a rich mans world sooner than some might think.
My current saw is a 60 yo Delta contractor with solid cast wings and Jet-Lock fence. Got it for $60 from an ad in Offer-Up. It was exactly what I was looking for, at a third the price I was willing to pay. I did have to do some cleanup, and I replaced the arbor bearings (not req'd except for peace of mind) and a couple rattle cans worth of paint...and of course some elbow grease. All in all... $110 for a daily driver that will actually rip 8/4 oak without screaming, hold a 13/16" stack dado and cut accurate dadoes on ply and solid woods, make cuts for hours (literally) without burning up and is a saw I don't have to hide in the corner when the gang comes around.
They are out there, boys and girls, if you are willing to look...and if you (or someone you trust) know what to look for. Just sayin'
Been a while since I checked marketplace for contractor and cabinet saws. There's a never-ending list of great stuff available here in Chicagoland. Multiple Unisaws, Delta 36725-t2's, tons of old Craftsmans and a wealth of commercial grade stuff for cheap. Ive never used a 14 inch blade, 800lbs Delta/Rockwell table saw, but it looks like a good time!

This isn't a *bad* saw, but certain aspects are. I purchased this expressly because it has a rack & pinion fence system. I've been trying to cut decent 90s with everybody else's old saw. I figured that this would at least come from the factory with right angles as a given. My bad. The fence is 1.5° out of true, with no way to fine-tune alignment? Fine for building decks, I suppose, but not for actual woodworking. Now I have to essentially REBUILD this fence system in order to get my money's worth out of this saw, having borrowed money to get this so I could finally cut a 90. Unacceptable...
I was just looking at this POS at Lowes last week while at the beach. Was thinking I bet my man Mike will do a review for me😂😂. Not bad for the price!
Skil Kobalt and Masterforce are all made by Chevron so there will be some similarities with small changes

I bought the Skil. Much better rolling stand and at the price point I got it for on Amazon day, I could not be happier. The Kobalt just looks like made in China junk to me!
Most saws like this you assemble the stand with the saw still in the Styrofoam then lift it out

@@ProjectsForAllReviews - honestly, the Ryobi table saw video can be less than a minute. Stand in front of the display at Home Depot, and have a chorus of people yelling “no” compiled behind it. Trust me, I run a LOT of Ryobi, but if I was gifted one, I’d still return it for a refund. The mitre saws are decent enough (stay on top of calibrating tho), circ saws need a 4ah battery minimum and a few prayers, recip works just fine.

@@ProjectsForAllReviews KT10152. My biggest gripe about it is the throat plate is plastic. But I always make my own zero clearance for these saws, so for me that isn't a deal breaker.
I also had the model before this one, which I believe was the KT1015, but the KT10152 is the much better saw. The KT1015 had a fence that was a different design that was trash. The KT10152 has a better fence of the variety that sits on the adjustable pegs, so it stays square once you set the pegs properly. No rack and pinion style adjustment, but it slides manually and you can simply unlock and lightly tap it one way or the other to make small adjustments. Granted the rack and pinion style fence is a better design, but even without that, I've never found the adjustments of the fence of this KT10152 to be a problem.
Based on the schematic and parts replacement list, these saws were either designed and/or made by Delta, as Delta had a jobsite saw and stand that was nearly identical.
The KT10152 is not a perfect saw, but based on what I see from your review of this newer Kobalt, I am glad I have the previous gen Kobalt.
I believe that it originally sold for $349, or something close to that price. I think I got mine for a little less than that when I bought it. As far as I know, the KT10152 is discontinued, though from what I understand, recently some still floated around on Lowe's floors for clearance prices.
You might have to browse the internet, eBay, etc. to find one, or perhaps find someone in your area who already owns one. I'd send you mine, but uhhhh....shipping something this size from California to where you live would probably cost a fortune.
Anyway, if you can find one for a reasonable price, it might be worth a look.
Both earlier saws weren't good either I had the first model the fence was junk and the blade lift bent a year and half after I got it and broke the next model wasn't any better
@@davidcorliss The first model's fence was trash. I also had an issue with the blade lift on that one. Haven't had any issues with either with the second gen.

Actually all of the boards did and some of it got edited out in post. There was a lot of wobble and all of those same boards were used for test cuts in the Bosch GTS vid I recently did. I didn't notice it was that bad unit I was editing. Im planning to recheck it with the straight edge and feeler gauge. I'll let you guys know if I find anything significant.
