      @ I can’t open Aliexpress on my phone to get you a link for some reason, I’ll look when I get home. But I’m trying to see if Venom can get a bunch of the KPR instrument clusters, that would be awesome if they could.

      @@herbiesgarage681Lifan should give you a pile of money for your engineering skills and put this cluster on every KPM. Maybe rebrand them as the "Herbie Edition". And throw in a cupholder on every new unit. Just my 2 cents worth!

    I love what you've done to that bike! Makes me want to go out and buy another one. But after I bought the 250 I don't think my wife will let me have it.

      @@RG-rc8yk Thank you, you know I think this Kpm might be my fastest bike excluding my FJR of course 😂 For a 200cc it really is a pretty good runner. 79gps is my top speed but it will cruise 65mph really nicely. And it’s super reliable, okay I better stop I don’t want to get you into trouble with your wife 😂

    I've been waiting for someone to do this. I moved my KPM dash to the handlebars and mounted a small bag where the dash used to be using a 2" rubber expansion plug and the tank strap. The bag is a good place to store my gloves and phone, even my wallet, but I'm still not happy with the dash.

      @herbiesgarage681  2 місяці тому

      @@recyclebills Yeah, the spot under the original gauge cluster is really ugly without something covering it. I can see where a small bag there would be handy.

    Great job Herbie. You knocked it out of the park. As usual. How did you get a hold of the new instrument cluster??

    Herbie you need a 3d printer. You could print out the spacer.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  2 місяці тому +1

      I would love to have a 3d printer, I don't know how hard it would be to learn to operate it though. I actually have a sheet of black plastic that I could have cut, heated and formed in less than a half hour, I'm sure. But I actually like the fork bag and being able to keep a few things in it. Thanks for the suggestion.

      @@herbiesgarage681 Get a Bambu Labs printer. They are really easy to use. And you are mechanical, so you have a leg up on most people. The really hard part is designing the part. Just have to learn a CAD program or Blender.

    Do you know what tail box fits the kpm or that’s made for it? I’ve been looking around trying to find something as I need one for my helmet+work boots.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Місяць тому

      @@Haven_wayRBLX You would need a pretty large tail box for a helmet and work boots. My tail box might work, not sure what helmet will fit, I haven’t really tried because I leave mine locked on the outside. You’ll have to find a generic box that will fit your needs. I think mine is a 35L box so will need that as a minimum size

    • @Haven_wayRBLX
      @Haven_wayRBLX Місяць тому +1

      @ does venom have a tail box for the bike? I thought you mentioned something about there being a tail box made for the bike unless I’m tripping.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Місяць тому

      @ I don’t know of Venom having a tail box for the bike, I could be wrong. But most of the time you have to get a universal box and adapt it to the bike. The rack to mount the box on is what you need first. They do make one for the Kpm but it’s pricey, which is why I adapted the Grom 125 rack to work on mine.

    How do you like this compared to the KPX? I'm thinking about getting one as a first bike.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  2 місяці тому +1

      @@Zielloss That’s a hard question, I love the Kpm for a lot reasons. I also like the KPX a lot, I just haven’t had it as long and put all the miles on it. But I really like both. The KPX is tall so you should be close to 6’ to comfortably ride it. The Kpm has a lower seat height so it’s easier to ride for shorter riders. Both bikes are good choices and it would come down to what fits you best and what are you going to be using it for.
