Mario kart 7 is just a game to chill, I play Mario kart 8 and wii and get angry but with DS and 7 it’s just a calm relaxing game and I just wish people appreciate Mario kart 7. The only complaint it gets it’s rainbow road these days. Anyway happy new year Albert boriNG (jk) 💛 stay safe out there and I hope your 2023 is good 💛
I kinda like how in terms of atmosphere, MKWii and MK7 are opposite. MK7 is much more laidback and calm, while MKWii is much more energetic and difficult. I prefer the energy of MKWii personally.
I never noticed how small your channel is, ive been watching a lot of your mario kart videos whenever they pop up in my recommended feed and i wouldve thought you wouldve atleast had 100k with the quality of your videos
I have a lot of nostalgia for mk7, this was my first Mario kart and I have lots of fond memories. While I do think the amount of content and just the graphical upgrade and gameplay makes Mario kart 8 deluxe significantly better, mk7 was revolutionary for the franchise, and gliding was much more fun in it.
This game makes me realize how much it opposes Mario Kart DS DS: -1P VS mode -Waluigi -Ruined Remakes -No Drift needed -Water Makes you Slower -Stellar Battle Mode -Poor Soundtrack (Aside from the tracks that have never been remade) -Great N64 Remakes -Shock Dodges in Cannons -Mission Mode -Made by Nintendo MK7 -No 1P VS mode -No Waluigi -Remakes are fan-favorites -Drift is necessary -Water has no consequence -Poor Battle Mode -Soundtrack is executed well (aside from Credits theme) -N64 remakes are sub-par -Glider prevents shock-dodges in cannon -No Mission Mode -Made by Retro Studios (Bertil Auris would oppose and say the title screen and 12 nitro tracks were made by Nintendo) Honestly, if Super Circuit didn’t exist, this would be my favorite Mario Kart game of all time, This game along with Super Circuit makes my Top 10 favorite games of all time.
I do think 7 is really good, Lack of vs barely mattered to me since I always just play online whenever I come back to it! My favorite part is definitely the retros, SO MANY GOOD TRACKS!
Thanks for the fantastic vids this year have a great new year 🎉 Also what a way to end the year with one of my most favorite games as a kid thanks so much
I sure do agree with you that this game is underrated. I sure do feel like the gameplay is very smooth and crisp, and that the track selection is great i this game!
Happy New Year Albert Boris! I’m glad your channel has seen growth, as for MarioKart 7 I can never decide whether I love or hate this game. It’s the closest to MarioKart 8 gameplay wise but I’ve always hated the physics, it feels floaty and unresponsive and I much prefer the tighter controls of MarioKart 8 and especially the extreme sport feel of Wii. The track selection is definitely a redeeming factor though.
Mk7 is my second favorite because 3DS rainbow road was added to MK8. Mk7 was a banger and the first one i actually owned myself. Mk7's nitros don't miss, and mk8 only picked the best ones as retros (aside from the wii sports tracks but yk)
YEEESSS!! I'm so happy to see this finally release! Mario Kart 7 is not just an amazing Mario Kart game, but also an amazing game in general. It's my 4th favorite MK title, it has arguably my fav set of Nitros (only Mushroom, Flower, Star, and Special cups), and it has my favorite track of all time in Neo Bowser City! The wait was totally worth it, and the interactions between you Bertil are always fun. What a great way to end off 2022 :)
The lack of vs mode to me does not matter at all. Cause 7’s course selection is that good, I can hop into any cup knowing that I’m going to have a good time on every course. No joke. Every course is either B tier or higher (maybe aside from Luigi Raceway and Cheep Cheep Cape) The lack of Waluigi never bothered me as a kid, and it doesn’t bother me now. And the battle mode is fine. It works. But it’s not really a good mode to complain about cause the focus is on the main racing mode. Basically those are the only 3 main complaints I’ve seen for 7, and they are all honestly worthless to me.
Glad you made this video, I always thought this game was Top 5 in the Mario Kart series, yet people usually see this game as mediocre 7 is just is a lot more polished and has way better tracks than DS imo
For real, DS has *BABY PARK* out of ALL of the tracks they could have chosen! When 7 has really good tracks like the Rainbow Road, the Wuhu tracks and things for retro like Waluigi Pinball (a good DS course but no Waluigi) and Airship Fortress (ANOTHER DS track).
I think the overall track ranking of Mario Kart 7 is the highest quality in any of the entire Kart series, period. It really is too bad there is VS mode in conventional gameplay. Otherwise it's a really fun and underrated game.
Not my favorite installment in the series, but still a damn good one. The main thing holding it back is the lack of a VS mode. (and yes, it’s important for me because it’s such a downgrade from MKWii) If you love Rainbow Road but hate every other track in the Special Cup, you have to go through them to play RR with bots. However, it has really great nitro courses, like Daisy Hills, Shy Guy Bazaar, Wuhu Loop, Melody Motorway (yeah I like this name better), Piranha Plant Slide, Wario Shipyard, or Maka Wuhu. The retros have duds, but there are also good retro tracks, like Tour Boston Building, DS Waluigi Pinball, GCN Daisy Cruiser, GCN Dino Dino Jungle, or DS Airship Fortress. However, the battle mode music is one of the worst OST in the Mario Kart franchise.
I have some nostalgia for this game too so i love it My dad found a broken 3ds xl once at a second hand shop and the system worked, but touch didn’t work. It had mario kart 7 preinstalled so i played the heck out of it
I have so much nostalgia for 7... One of my favorite games of all time, and for good reason. Only thing missing is a VS. mode, and that's my biggest gripe with the game.
Speaking of Mario Kart here is my ranking: F-Tier 9. Mario Kart Tour D-Tier 8. Super Mario Kart C-Tier 7. Mario Kart DS B-Tier 6. Mario Kart 64 A-Tier 5. Mario Kart: Super Circuit 4. Mario Kart: Double Dash S-Tier 3. Mario Kart Wii 2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 1. Mario Kart 7
Calling ds a bad game just becouse of it's courses is not a good argument, since you don't need to play the bad courses more than once and only play your favorites in vs mode, the battle mode is actually good and you can play it offline, it's mission mode gives you things to do in single player other than just replaying the regular tracks over and over. I hope I didn't wrote anything wrong since english isn't my main language 😅
Well Albert did go over his review on DS why the game was AVERAGE (not bad) due to features 1. Courses: Well, they simply don't shine here and are boring, like Tick Tock Clock, Cheep Cheep Beach, Yoshi Falls (which just sucks in general), Shroom Ridge, DK Pass, and Wario Stadium. Figure-8 Circuit just sucks in general (probably the worst opening track in history), along with Desert Hills, and some tracks being overrated, like Waluigi Pinball. 2. Battle Mode: It's alright, but eh? Some tracks just again don't feel like they work well with DS limitations. 3. Retro Courses (i forgor before): Yeah they suck, like you're telling me Baby Park was a necessary priority to bring back immediately? No way you can say that, and literally all the GCN tracks are worse than their original, and SNES/GBA don't improve at all, with unmemorable tracks from these games, and the N64 tracks have small improvement, in my humble opinion (and probably many others) retros should have been saved for Wii. 4. Mission Mode: it's forgettable, that's all. The missions are boring as all hell and you really don't remember any at all, but to add to this, Wii had tournaments which were way better and basically missions done mostly right. So yeah, that's literally it.
@@sevenoxia7199 did you played trough mission mode? Becouse I did and trying to get a good ranking was really fun. In the review he might not have said that the game was bad, but in this video, he said many times he thinks the game is bad.
I still emulate this on my new phone to this day, my brother took the 3ds when he moved, but thats fine, bought since i was able to buy a new phone with good emulation abilites, and i can even play my old favorite gamecube games and ps2 games, but mk7 was my favorite childhood game
I didn't grow up with this game. I grew up mario kart ds (the 2nd best mario kart game behind mario kart 8 deluxe) but i still think people over look this game. On of the best track selections, great inivations, and a ok battle mode
My Mario Kart Rankings: (not including double dash or super circuit since I never played those) 6. Super Mario Kart 5. Mario Kart 64 4. Mario Kart 7 (its still good) 3. Mario Kart DS 2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 1. Mario Kart Wii
I think that MK7 had the absolute most phenomenal retro track selection out of any game (only including base game retro tracks for mk8). And thats not to say that the new tracks are bad either, because they have really good sound/visual design.
I would say the only negatives-aside from inevitable ones caused by being on a portable console- are the slightly odd character selection, lack of a vs. mode (which really isn’t needed for a portable console), and coin battle having a cap of 10 coins.
unfortunately most of the fan favourites were Wii tracks, and all of them got downgraded in some way due to the 3DS' limitations, just like the Gamecube courses on the DS
Completely agree! Definitely the best track selection with a great soundtrack. However, I would say Super Circuit is more overlooked. It's one of my favorites, and I can assure you I have no nostalgia for it.
I love Mario Kart 8 but there's one thing I just can't get used to... the way it controls. I never had any complaint when I played 7 though. but 8 just feels really slippery or heavy in comparison. Those might not be the exact terms I'm looking for, but I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've heard complaints about the way gliding works now, but I have more problems just that... one major thing which is the reason I never play battle mode anymore is that you can't turn easily around in place (by holding brake and gas at the same time) anymore. I got too used to that. One good thing about 8 deluxe though is the purple sparks like you said. Also I quite like auto acceleration
Wait no I completely agree with you. Playing 8 at least for me feels sluggish but also too fast? While drifting in MK8DX may seem more satisfying to drift because of the mini turbos, in 7 it just feels smoother and more fluid overall
14:02 I'll answer your question even though I know you probably won't read this. The reason people don't complain about Double Dash and 64 is because the single player VS mode didn't exist yet. DS invented it. People have a problem with 7 not having it because it was REMOVED for no reason, making it inferior to Wii and DS due to less content.
honestly mario kart 7 is probably my second favourite of the series, still behind mario kart 8. the track selection in it is near perfection (excluding SNES, GBA and N64 picks) and the new features it introduced were great, i love them especially in mk8. but even if you think the missing vs mode is not too bad, it ruins the top spot for me easily. it's great to play through all the tracks in grand prix mode until you have 3 stars in every cup, but then the replayability value goes down the drain. 95% of my time in mario kart 8 were played in vs mode because i could choose specific tracks (especially because i love building my own cups and playing through them). and missing out on it without any reason is very hard to look away from. thats why it's only a very tiny bit above mkds for me personally :v
From the way you talked about a lot of the Mario Kart Wii, I honestly thought that one would have been your favorite. As for my opinion on Mario Kart 7, it's not one of my favorites but I have to agree that it is definitely underrated and overlooked.
Personally Mario Kart 7 was my least favourite. out of all the Nitro courses they’re is only 1 I like and that is Shy Guy Bazaar, some are okay but they don’t make me want to replay them. I like that they added gliding and underwater but for me the nitro’s didn’t do it for me personally. 😔💔

Mario kart 7 is just a game to chill, I play Mario kart 8 and wii and get angry but with DS and 7 it’s just a calm relaxing game and I just wish people appreciate Mario kart 7. The only complaint it gets it’s rainbow road these days. Anyway happy new year Albert boriNG (jk) 💛 stay safe out there and I hope your 2023 is good 💛
The outro and the moment of tranquility between the brothers was really wholesome. Happy New Year Albert!
Albert: Talking about the Music and it’s feels
Me: “idc i’m just fine with hearing sounds”
Fun fact: if this game would have vs mode and Waluigi this would be the best Mario kart b'y far.
Thank you very much! Hopefully, we'll eventually get there...
I remember me and my brother playing this game a lot when we were kids. This was my first experience with Mario kart.
Is Great to See People Making Mario Kart 7 Videos Again I wish People are Still Playing This Game Online
This game makes me realize how much it opposes Mario Kart DS
DS:
-1P VS mode
-Waluigi
-Ruined Remakes
-No Drift needed
-Water Makes you Slower
-Stellar Battle Mode
-Poor Soundtrack (Aside from the tracks that have never been remade)
-Great N64 Remakes
-Shock Dodges in Cannons
-Mission Mode
-Made by Nintendo
MK7
-No 1P VS mode
-No Waluigi
-Remakes are fan-favorites
-Drift is necessary
-Water has no consequence
-Poor Battle Mode
-Soundtrack is executed well (aside from Credits theme)
-N64 remakes are sub-par
-Glider prevents shock-dodges in cannon
-No Mission Mode
-Made by Retro Studios (Bertil Auris would oppose and say the title screen and 12 nitro tracks were made by Nintendo)
Honestly, if Super Circuit didn’t exist, this would be my favorite Mario Kart game of all time, This game along with Super Circuit makes my Top 10 favorite games of all time.
"Poor soundtrack"
You better apologize
@@CaptainRillaboom i meant the remakes in that context.
Also my handle is not “noshadesfunky”
I do think 7 is really good, Lack of vs barely mattered to me since I always just play online whenever I come back to it! My favorite part is definitely the retros, SO MANY GOOD TRACKS!
I love how Mario Kart 7 made the trick system simple by just pressing the R button.
8 Deluxe is my favorite, but I’ll always adore Mario Kart 7
I agree 💯 with you
Thanks for the fantastic vids this year have a great new year 🎉
Also what a way to end the year with one of my most favorite games as a kid thanks so much
I sure do agree with you that this game is underrated.
This year has been a wild ride...
I’ll never forget the memories you gave me lol
Have a happy new year everyone :)
11:37 I love how she seems to be afraid of how people will react to that take lol
14:07 because with those games, all you needed was a second controller, with 7 you need an entire second 3DS to access it
Shy Guy Bazaar is so underrated!
Mk7 is my second favorite because 3DS rainbow road was added to MK8. Mk7 was a banger and the first one i actually owned myself. Mk7's nitros don't miss, and mk8 only picked the best ones as retros (aside from the wii sports tracks but yk)
This was the 1st time I saw airship fortress!
15:31 moments before disaster
Even though this isn’t my number 1 mario kart game that goes to wii this is my second favorite Mario kart game
No joke. Every course is either B tier or higher (maybe aside from Luigi Raceway and Cheep Cheep Cape)
The lack of Waluigi never bothered me as a kid, and it doesn’t bother me now.
And the battle mode is fine. It works. But it’s not really a good mode to complain about cause the focus is on the main racing mode.
Basically those are the only 3 main complaints I’ve seen for 7, and they are all honestly worthless to me.
9:32 Halfpipes being in Mario Kart Wii should count too. I hope we see them back in MK9.
It holds. THE BEST! Rainbow Road!
*laughs in Wii, DS, GCN, GBA, and N64’s remake in MK8*
Does anyone remember cheep cheep lagoon?
I’ve been wanting 2 charge up my 3ds so I can play this
14:03 Because MK7 came AFTER the invention of the versus mode.
I happy to see someone else finds this their favorite this has always been a classic since childhood
Gotta thank this game for starting to make the way to defeat cutscenes that don’t roast you lol
When you think about it, Mario Party 9 is literally the Mario Kart 7 of Mario Party.
I got MK7 for chrismas and i had been playing it over tour and 8
Glad you made this video, I always thought this game was Top 5 in the Mario Kart series, yet people usually see this game as mediocre
7 is just is a lot more polished and has way better tracks than DS imo
For real, DS has *BABY PARK* out of ALL of the tracks they could have chosen! When 7 has really good tracks like the Rainbow Road, the Wuhu tracks and things for retro like Waluigi Pinball (a good DS course but no Waluigi) and Airship Fortress (ANOTHER DS track).
I think the overall track ranking of Mario Kart 7 is the highest quality in any of the entire Kart series, period.
It really is too bad there is VS mode in conventional gameplay. Otherwise it's a really fun and underrated game.
Good video man!
4:36 YOU TAKE THAT THE FUCK BACK, DOUBLE DASH'S MENU THEME IS FUCKING AMAZING! /lh
YES!
THANK YOU FOR HAVING MY SAME OPINION MARIO KART 7 WAS AN UNDERRATED GEM
7:08 who was that person playing as yoshi lol
Now that..., is an excellent question lol
Not my favorite installment in the series, but still a damn good one.
The main thing holding it back is the lack of a VS mode. (and yes, it’s important for me because it’s such a downgrade from MKWii)
If you love Rainbow Road but hate every other track in the Special Cup, you have to go through them to play RR with bots.
Albert, do you think Mario Kart X will dethrone Mario Kart 7: an underrated masterpiece!
This game honestly was good. It brought beautiful stages and nice mechanics. I do miss playing it.
The online multiplayer in this one is such a weird experience. You see noobs, pros, Yoshies that have 0 Vr and of course Hackers
7:08 who's that goofy guy playing as yoshi
that may or may not have been me..
@@Mettaton4394 hehe yea ik I can forsee the future
7:24 Look! Snowe is playing Terreia!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is close first but Mario Kart 7 is still the best Mario Kart Game I’ve seen!
I have some nostalgia for this game too so i love it
My dad found a broken 3ds xl once at a second hand shop and the system worked, but touch didn’t work. It had mario kart 7 preinstalled so i played the heck out of it
I have so much nostalgia for 7... One of my favorite games of all time, and for good reason. Only thing missing is a VS. mode, and that's my biggest gripe with the game.
12:23 Yeah, I don’t understand why people hate this change…
Bertin Boris is a prablem
I think the main issue people have with MK7’s lack of VS mode is that they much feel it’s a downgrade compared to MKWii.
Albert is the G.O.A.T. 🔥
While I don’t think it’s the best, it is an extremely underrated game
this game was my childhood on the 3ds
Speaking of Mario Kart here is my ranking:
F-Tier
9. Mario Kart Tour
D-Tier
8. Super Mario Kart
C-Tier
7. Mario Kart DS
B-Tier
6. Mario Kart 64
A-Tier
5. Mario Kart: Super Circuit
4. Mario Kart: Double Dash
S-Tier
3. Mario Kart Wii
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Well Albert did go over his review on DS why the game was AVERAGE (not bad) due to features
I said the game was kinda bad in comparison to other installments. On it's own, it's more on the mediocre side.
@@sevenoxia7199 I’ll say that DS battle mode is way better than 3DS battle mode though
My Mario Kart Rankings: (not including double dash or super circuit since I never played those)
6. Super Mario Kart
5. Mario Kart 64
4. Mario Kart 7 (its still good)
3. Mario Kart DS
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
1. Mario Kart Wii
It’s insane how i was in the MK7 speedrun community
This is probably my favorite mario kart, then wii, then 8DX. I DONT EVEN OWN WII AND 7. That’s how good they are.
10/10 I have played that game before it is so good
great video!
This game is underrated but it has 3DS Rainbow Road
Thanks for all the great videos, Albert. Hope 2023 is even better for you.
By the way, epitome is pronounced "ee-pit-oh-mee"
Completely agree! Definitely the best track selection with a great soundtrack. However, I would say Super Circuit is more overlooked. It's one of my favorites, and I can assure you I have no nostalgia for it.
I have been waiting 8 months the video you ranking every mario party board
It's been said a billion times but vs mode is essential for a handheld game with the best track selection, before bcp wave 3
I didn't Play Mario kart 7
That much because I lost it
But I'm getting a renewed Mario Kart
7 So I hope It's Actually Like How You explain
I don’t get why people hate MK7, maybe because of Toad Circuit
From the way you talked about a lot of the Mario Kart Wii, I honestly thought that one would have been your favorite. As for my opinion on Mario Kart 7, it's not one of my favorites but I have to agree that it is definitely underrated and overlooked.
Well it's definitely my most nostalgic Mario Kart, although whenever I go back to it, I realize why I always preferred Mario Kart 7 lol
@@AlbertBorisYeah I guess that makes sense
@@AlbertBoris the real question is why you prefer Mario Kart 7 to 8 though
good video man and happy new year! will u do a mario kart 8 deluxe ranking cups with the dlc?
Once the entire Booster Course Pass has been released, I'm thinking of doing the cup ranking for that game as well!
@@AlbertBorisor u can do this without the dlc
Personally Mario Kart 7 was my least favourite. out of all the Nitro courses they’re is only 1 I like and that is Shy Guy Bazaar, some are okay but they don’t make me want to replay them. I like that they added gliding and underwater but for me the nitro’s didn’t do it for me personally. 😔💔
Same but I loke it a tad bit more than super mario kart lol
@@cam935n There is more courses I like in the original that in Mario Kart 7. Koopa Beach 2 is my favourite 💗
@@RinaOfCuteness I'm holding out hope for that to be the last snes track in the bcp
