Totally there with you, but at the same time I think the DP series is in a really great place. It's built its own identity and it's gotten a massive amount of critical praise, so I'm hoping it stays around for a good long while.

I cried in the scene of larry and his son in the barn and the revelation of what his son went through and what he did to get back at larry, larry is just so....masterfully written
Yes I find myself always wanting more when they're done with him. I don't really care much for Rita's backstory or Cliffs but they are great characters. Jane's underground is always awesome to see. It's not just that Larry is gay, it's that he was gay in a time when that was not ok. That's part of what makes it interesting. Being gay nowadays is just accepted so that would be boring. But doing it at that time where he had a whole family to cover it up is just interesting to see
I don't need to say this, your videos are always great. I've been a giant fan of the Doom Patrol since I discovered them in Highschool when I was at one of my lowest. When the show came out, I was so scared that the story of the team and the characters weren't going to be as expressive or come out in a tone similar to Titans. But I've never experienced something like Doom Patrol in television outside of animation. I cried in various episodes, even in the Pilot when Cliff begins to walk again, and even into Season 2. I championed the show and begged anyone who could watch it to do so, I loved your videos on the show and Way’s comic run, and thank you so much for making me want to go back and rewatch the series.
I couldn't agree more, AJ. I've never come across a show with such a perfect balance of weirdness and heartfelt sincerity. Can't help but feel if more titles and shows embraced DP's philosophy, we'd be better off.

I will try to comment as Spoiler Free as possible, because I love when i am able to talk about this show whenever I can: SORRY FOR WALL OF TEXT I just want to talk about this show, feel free to ignore my comment (Although Kinda sad No mention of Niles or Dorothy was made in the video) - Gotta love how Cliff's crux of his character arc are about how "By becoming less human, he became a better person" and how "He damages himself more by trying to cling to his past, sadly repeating his worse mistakes". Especially about what he said in Therapy Patrol under the influence of Admiral Whiskers. I hope future episodes are able to explore more about his relationship with his wife, his once friend Bump and ESPECIALLY his relatiosnhip with his own Old Man (his Dad). Also hope he and Larry get a focus episode because that brief moment they shared in Sex Patrol made me realize those 2 are so similar yet so different i wish i could see them interact more together. ALSO hope Cliff gets to interact more with Flex Mentallo, given they have experienced something similar in the show, it would be interesting - It was so Ironic that Vic started the series as the "most well-adjusted member of the team" and has slowly gotten more traumatized across the series. It would be interesting to see how this affects Vic in later seasons. especially given Mr. Nobody is most likely coming back with the Brotherhood of Dada (which might get combined with elements of the The Brain's Brotherhood of Evil), and how Ronnie is still out there - I really wonder where Rita's story will go on on future seasons. especially given she has tried to become a heroine, but is still struggling with her own issues sometimes making her fail at the worst moments. Especially considering season 3 is apparentlyintroducing madame rogue from the brotherhood of evil. which, if the teen titans 2003 cartoon is any inspiration, she can basically serve as Rita's ultimate dark reflection. Also I hope Rita and Jane get a focus episode together because it will be interesting seeing them interact. especially given how jane was traumatized by her father and rita by her mother. giving a nice contrasts between the sources of ther struggles - Jane's and Kay's story arcs might be the most difficult to exactly wonder where they will go from here. Especially given who Miranda is. But that's probably the most interesting aspect of it. - Man. Larry Trainor's story could easily go the Rebis route from Grant Morrison's run, OR Positive Man route from Gerard Way's run. AND that's not to mention how it could be explored alongside what the show has done with Larry trying to fix things with his family. Not to mention whatever the lore the series might use for The Negative Spirit. Also i hope Larry gets more interactions with Jane and Cliff I also hope to see more about Danny (who, given them transforming into a wheel in season 2, might hint at them becoming Danny the Ambulance from Gerard Way's run) or Flex Mentallo (who I hope appears more. the show could intrdouce Cassie Brinke as his sister to keep everything tied together)
great video, the show is all about the relationships, it is all about the humanity, the cloak is the "super hero" trope. I challenge anyone to not get emotional on the first episode... and the first ep of season 3 is the same.. I am damn right in again... this is about people, period. Cyborg was the weak link until now (imo) but this season he has at last come into his own, although his tech is the one thing on the show that looks stupid... Rita... fuckin Rita .... is the BEST ! she deserves awards
Yep, although the timeline on the show’s still a little wonky. Jane’s definitely left a few times and Clif kept to himself for almost a decade. I’d say they’ve known each other for decades but the team’s a recent development

Diane Guerrero deserves an Emmy for this show. She is one of the best actors I have ever seen in a comic book show.
HARD AGREE. She's been a tour-de-force throughout, especially with season 2. Hopefully she picks up an award for that sooner or later.
She gives a performance on par with Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. Both are amazing!
