At the end of the day no offense OP stepmother isnt family either. Shes not his biological mother. Luke is biologically linked to OPs wife and son. So Luke is family.
This story was madness 😮. As an FYI the no soft cheese for jane, was due to pregnancy, health risk food due to how it is made. She may not be lactose intolerant. Pizza not an issue for pregnancy.
Not having deli meats was awful when I was pregnant I craved them I never ate them but I had the cravings 😂 also sushi but I just ate seaweed tho 😂😂 pregnant women can’t have nothing good
Most soft cheeses are pasteurized in the US, so I didn’t think that was an issue, and I think as long as you heat/microwave the deli meat it’s ok too. Mercury in fish tho is hard to get around 😟
Story 1: can we just take a minute to appreciate OP?! So often we hear stories about people being Assholes to non biological children but this man is standing up to his father and his family and protecting his child from step mom even though it’s not his biological son.
Right? And not even his fiancé’s bio son - it’s her baby half brother that they’ve taken in and done everything they possibly can to give him some semblance of a normal life. He’s a great human!
Step-brother would have struggled a lot with his break-up and perhaps being around a happy couple expecting a baby was triggering for those fresh wounds, thus he sought solace in his parents but maybe struggled to ‘prove’ his worthiness to them when they were so focused on OP’s big life events. Just to give him a little benefit of the doubt, I think he’ll come around after the conversation and spending more time with OP’s family, we can’t forget he is also a victim of step-mother/his mother’s abuse
This channel is cool. Live people speaking, the commentary banter between 2 funny people, so much more enjoyable than the ai voices. I have heard this story before but i watched again because it’s funny having the play by play responses. Better just to listen to these guys instead of the ai channels 😊
The Stepmom is cray cray! OP's dad is funny on how he was trying to bring in the "good stuff" of stepmom to plead her case against OP. I am so glad that the judge sided with OP. I feel bad for Luke but happy to hear that he's going through therapy on this. BIG PROTEIN RILEY!
OP's stepmother is trash. Big respect to OP for wanting to stay with his family and protect them and not falling under the pressure of his side of the family.
Going NC with a parent gets a whole lot easier after becoming a parent yourself. It removes nearly all possible rationalizations for their terrible behavior. I’ve been NC with my father for a few years now. I had been intermittently many times prior, with even some of them not being my own choice either because he didn’t pay the phone bill or just flat-out ignored me after my brother got his own plan and threw his phone in our dad’s lap and told him “talk to your daughter” (he threw it back to my brother…). We were both in high school but I lived 3 hrs away with our mom. Adulthood/parenthood has been an Easter egg hunt of trauma. Most recently realized he started boarding up our childhood dog in the basement after our mom divorced him (we were 4 & 6yo at the time and our dog was gifted to him by our mom as a puppy). I do, quite literally, mean “boarded up”. He had a ranch with a full, finished basement. The basement was studded for a full kitchen but didn’t have appliances and was never utilized for anything other than trapping our dog. I can’t remember if he had a dog bed in there, but it was otherwise a bare, dusty, linoleum (or possibly bare concrete) floor with countertops and drawers (if I remember correctly- it’s been 20+ years). Our dad found a surprising amount of uses for rake sticks and boarding up our dog was one of them. The kitchen had a door-width entryway with a bar/peninsula or something to the right of it. He took a big piece of plywood, attached a rope at each end lengthwise with some slack, and would insert the rake stick between the board/rope and twist it to tighten with the rake stick being on the exterior wall of the studded kitchen & the board being on the interior wall. I know they used to do this when they left the house while married and it may have originally been intended as a less-constrictive alternative to a kennel (he was a big boy… picture Eric’s dog from the animated Little Mermaid… same breed), but it became his constant. If he wasn’t boarded up alone in the basement, he was alone outside in an old, wooden dog house with wasp nests inside. His nose was scarred up and often bloody from flies, coat matted, etc. Anyway, my brother and I eventually had to choose which parent we wanted to live with full-time because our mom decided to move (3 hrs away). I chose our mom, my brother chose our dad, but we still had a month or two left in the school year after deciding. Both of our parents knew both of our decisions by that point. I can’t remember if we came home to our dad’s from visiting our mom’s new place or if we had just come home from school, but we asked where our dog was. Our dad said he had been gone for a while and when it was clear that we were upset, he said “you never played with him anyway”. We were 8 & 10 at that point and basically only got to see our dog on Christmas mornings when our dad allowed him to come upstairs to eat a Chico Stick from his stocking in the laundry room (thought Chico Sticks were a dog treat until recent years… I’m 32) Apparently I fell for “I gave him to a nice older couple who don’t have stairs in their house” (again… he had a ranch. Our dog only had to climb a full flight of stairs because he was holed up in the basement). My brother eventually was led to believe he had handed him over to a shelter (all of the shelters in the area are kill shelters). He was on the older side for his breed/size, but definitely not to the point where euthanasia should’ve entered the picture- much less euthanasia by a total stranger, alone, and in a strange place after having had a family for the past 10 years (even if his longtime owner neglected tf out of him for the latter part, to say the least) We’re in our 30’s now and still don’t know the truth. Never will. I never even met another dog of the same breed until 7-8 years ago when I happened to be helping out at my old job for the day. I was so excited to see one that I cried… but that was probably also because that one was so bouncy and happy… very much the opposite of how I last remembered ours.
Amazing that Riley joined in too, so John weren't alone with this monster of a story. OKOP Show does an incrable job of bringing the stories to life and joy to the people listning ^-^
So, Luke, OP's stepson is NOT family, but SM's son IS? Her son, OP's dad's STEPSON is family, but Luke isn't and deserved to be beaten? The hypocrisy and evil nature of this woman is unbelievable.
Hard cheeses (like mozzarella and parmesan) contain very little lactose, while soft cheeses are full of lactose. The aging of hard cheeses has bacteria breaking down lactose into something more digestible (at least from what I’ve heard).
It's because she's pregnant, soft cheeses can contain a bacteria called lysteria which can be fatal for unborn babies, hence why all pregnant women are told to avoid soft cheeses. Although I believe you are correct about the lactose levels
After twenty two years of hell from my father in law, we have cut him out of our lives. Just this week, he told me that I'd better meet with him or he will tear the family apart. I told him that I didn't understand how he was going to tear apart a family that's already in pieces. He countered with the fact that it's my fault because when my son was an infant(under 6 months) he gave him water after I warned him not to do that because water for infants can be very harmful. I shouted at him, "are you mad?". This was unforgivable. But his wife shaking his child (my husband) when he was an infant was acceptable...there are so many stories that it's not even worth mentioning. But I hope it's finally over.
My stepmom has always been a raging alcoholic. She was a nightmare to deal with when drunk. But when she was sober she felt like part of the family. Whenever she would do anything to us while drunk my dad would use that as an excuse. He would tell us to ignore her hurtful words and forgive her for being physically violent because it wasn’t her fault. It was the alcohol’s fault. After 22 years of this and 2 years of keeping our distance from both of them, my dad is finally realizing that she is sinking him. He’s made up his mind to divorce her. Fingers crossed it hopefully happens🤞🏼
Dad thinks his new wife has authority she doesn't have. If real mom is still alive, active in her kids lives, and hasn't abandoned them, she is still MOM. SM must take a back seat and understand she is NEVER going to be MOM. I have an amazing SM, and that's because she did exactly that. She is my dad's wife. They support each other, but my dad is the PARENT! This SM doesn't get that.
The dad can watch the wedding online since he refuses to leave his wife at home. He knows who his wife is, but he's still lonely in his heart and is afraid of being alone. In other words, he'd rather be with someone and miserable than lonely and possibly happy.
Imho, OPs SM isn't family in bio-therms, but Luke is. Proud of OP standing up for your family (stbw/SO + her brother). The RO was nessessary and going NC also, else it just get even worse with SM cause Father was praising the missbehavior. Thx for the story tho. Like OKOP ❤
OP’s father saw Palpatine as a godsend bc w/o her he wouldn’t had to raise his own kids (OP + his sister). Plus she brought the younger gal boo-tay. clearly a very spineless weak man. And a creep
Hurting grandkids…that alone I would’ve understood the situation should be treated more seriously and thus that RO is def needed. Kudos to OP who has endured years of narcissistic abuse and prioritized protecting his family…i hope his dad takes notes because that is how a father should be…protecting children even against their own partner or spouse…
I went to a baby shower with the plain body suits. They get fabric paint / markers and let the guests and kids who are at the party decorate them. My cousin loves elephants so I tried to draw one ... idk now good it was, but it's the thought. That way they have customized baby onezies, which are a little cheaper if you get the plain ones. Fun for every one. And if they get messed up, well that's okay that's what babies do to them too.
What is wrong with OP's father? He was WEAKLY trying to calm everything down? The stepmother is obviously a narci**ist and who knows what else on the Dark Triad. But OP's father could be a narci**ist too, albeit the flying monkey kind of narci**ist to his Head Mean Girl wife. His father sounds like he'll do anything to sit at the cool kid's table. And the rest of the family sounds like the polarized golden child vs. the scapegoat child. It often happens in families with narci**istic heads of household and triangulation, dysfunctional centers of operation. Polarization. Unfortunately people tend to flock around and orbit around the narci**ist. Not wanting to p*** them off. And wanting to be a favorite person.
Heard the story about step mom taking over the baby shower on another channel and always wondered what happened after they finished the story didn't realise it went down hill from there blows my mind people actually act like this.
No no Stepmom her is crazy YOU NEVER HURT A CHILD!!! PERIOD Stepmom sound like she shoud be admitted to a Asaylum,im sorry bro but really she sound mean&crazy ,good luck to you bro & your family ,CONGRATS whit the Wedding im pretty sure Luke will be okay as he has you& Jane & his litle Brother ❤❤❤
OP's dad reminds me of my dad. He would do anything to avoid confrontation. I suspect he's rather bullied by SM. Either that or the sex is great. 🎉 Maybe both? OP did exactly what he needed to do. It sucks but sometimes you have to love people from a distance. This definitely was a BIG PROTEIN moment. 😁
It's your wedding, your life, your children. Just tell them all to kiss your ass. and I'm not sure what statement meant about trigger waning but I'm assuming she busted his lip? Just call cops NOW.
It’s nice to see you comment again, you should def text our call line 😉 -Riley And we have to censor ourselves for UA-cam, so I made a sign to remind them 😅
Sounds to me, that SM wanted his kids out of his life so she can have her husband all to herself. Most step-mothers do this when the children of the OG mother is more important to the father than her.
So, OP has a mother, but his father's wife is angry and hurt that SHE isn't mentioned as the "Mother of the Groom... Phew. What kind of world do we live in - or rather what kind of world does SHE live in? What would she have titled the groom's mom? "Biological Mother of the Groom"? On the other hand, she could have the title "Stepmother of the Groom"... or - God forbid - "Bonusmother of the Groom"... But since she's not invited, this exercise of words is futile. I can't get over how mean she is to the older child. She needs therapy and anger management classes asap, and possibly also a nice little stint in jail. I hope the rest of the family comes around. I'll never understand how a parent can choose an unhinged partner so clearly in the wrong over their own child. Good luck, OP. Edit: Aha! I see you took up the same point I made here.
I think I missed if stepmother works, but she comes across as a woman who probably needs an outlet like her own business to put her energy into, not her family.
At the end of the day no offense OP stepmother isnt family either. Shes not his biological mother. Luke is biologically linked to OPs wife and son. So Luke is family.
Good point. God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the name above all names & the only way to Heaven❤
I said that out-loud when he read that! If anything she’s less family than Luke is, by her own definition lol
Exactly! That's what I kept saying.
I thought the same thing! No matter the percentage Luke shares DNA with OP and fiancés child. They are family.
@@BettiePaganabsolutely. Luke is fiancée’s blood relative. That is way more family than a biyatchey step mom.
So glad they pressed charges on the stepmother & held the father accountable for allowing & justified her behavior.
This story was madness 😮. As an FYI the no soft cheese for jane, was due to pregnancy, health risk food due to how it is made. She may not be lactose intolerant. Pizza not an issue for pregnancy.

Luke is a very fortunate young man. Those two would go to the grave to protect him.
The title sells it as unforgivable right away. I've heard this story before and to hell with that lady

The issue with soft cheeses and pregnant women has nothing to do with lactose and everything to do with pasterization.

Jane could have cheese just not soft cheese as it’s a risky food (food poisoning) and you try to avoid those risks during pregnancy
Body suits could mean the guy is into theater or a art teacher.
Think OP meant baby onesies not bodysuit. Decorating onesies is a common baby shower activity

The soft cheese avoidance is a doctor recommendation for pregnant people. I don’t think mozzarella/ cheddar are included.
Yep they aren’t soft cheese, mozzarella is a dry cheese and has lower lactose levels so it’s also fine for most lactose intolerant people
