Hey, man, impressive aim, you hit the cable at a considerable distance, the only problem is that we are just forgetting about the elevator weight that could aply a lot of tension to the cable, I think that wold make weaker the cable, love all your videos, I'm a huge fan, Saludos desde México 🇲🇽

Let's not forget that elevators are held up by multiple redundant cables, emergency braking systems and buffers at the bottom of the shaft that have been specifically constructed to prevent a matrix type scenario.

I’m an elevator mechanic. All of those things are correct also elevator cables are 1/2 or 5/8 and have a hemp rope core.

Conclusion: It would hurt the integrity of the cable so depending on the weight it carries it would definitely break but not with one shot

dont they shoot where the cable is bolted to? And not the cable itself

@@nick_steele9790 I mean sure but not alot more.. under tension if it snaps it isnt just gunna fly around depending on how it's set up. He doesnt even neeed weight. Two come-a-longs on either side of the cable to hold it in tension with two bags on either side of where your shooting to absorb the force if it snaps. Pretty safe
