i have just begun to teach myself this art...as best as i can--and ofcourse naturally i dont have deep pockets so i dont own the Facetron or any of those wonderful machines but i think if i can understand what im attempting to accomplish (beyond beautiful gemstones obviously) the math and science behind the art then it wont matter what machine i am using because it is after all just a tool. However....even i am not so niave to deny the splendor of your creation and im sure you are aware of the many cutters out there just coveting your machine and your skill! Well done.
Great job, awesome machine, any chance I could ask you about the calabration sensor and touch on feature and depth of cut. What is the calabration sensor going to, wiring, any chance you can explain this, do you use a sensor, how does it plug into arduino board. Touch sensor how does that wiring Work, wiring? Any help here would be much appreciated. I'm so close to finishing the machine but just can calabrate machine, not sure about sensor.
You are welcome. Sir I understand that I am just one of your recent subscribers I am kind of feeling uneasy that I am asking you for a suggestion. I also would like to learn gem faceting I think it is very impressive skill that one could have. If it is ok with could you please suggest an easy in use faceting machine. And I also would like to point out that I am on budget. Thanks you in advance.
Hi! Learning faceting is for sure not a self-going thing. You should be certain that you have the ambition and strong intention for that! - If that is the case the kind and type of faceting machine is of secondary importance. Also it is hard for me to propose a machine that you should buy. I would suggest that you first do some studying on the web (e.g. here: medium.com/justin-k-prim/how-to-choose-the-best-faceting-machine-for-your-needs-c41774367c55, or UA-cam in general), and then look for a used one that you find suitable for you. Good luck!
Hi sir. I highly appreciate your advise and a separate thanks for sharing he article. I really appreciate it. Regarding the questions whether do I really want to learn faceting, the answer is yes. I come from a country that 93% covered by mountain, those mountains have got lots of gem stones. If I learn gem cutting in future I could even make living on that. Unfortunately gem cutting is not there in my country so that I could learn it from someone. I am student right now in China. I saw the prices they are quite expensive I will probably go for second hand. I looked on eBay but didn’t find any suitable one. The one which are very common on eBay are those that are produced here in China. Sir I understand now asking you for the second request I am really sorry for that but if you could suggest me where I could buy a second hand facestron or mark v gem city machine I would highly appreciate that. And sir you need anything from China or you need a reliable person in China just know that there is one. As Lannister from Games of Thrones say we always pay our debt I also would like to pay you back for your great help. Thank once again.

Hi Benji, basically I don't sell my self-made stuff, as I need the stuff myself plus I don't think that is easy to use for somebody that did not build it. But of course, if you pay many $$$, let's discuss ;-)

The extra length in the mast should make life easier on low angles. I like fluorite, it has some beautiful colours. Well done

Your improvements seemed to pay off as the stone is beautiful. Your quite an engineer and machinist.
Thanks! However, I'm an amateur and aware that professional machinists work on a different level than me.

It's my hobby and I'm just building for my own needs so far. So sorry, but I can't. But great, if you got some ideas!
