- This beautiful slab was almost discarded because it was "unusable" with all the holes in it.

Good job. Love the legs!
Thank you. They where my favorite too.
OUTSTANDING JOB!!!
Hey thanks a lot
Beautiful, would like to see a hidden compartment coffee table with wood and epoxy top to hold extra supplies that don't fit in your shelf
Yes I would love to build one too. I just need to find a buyer
Mate! Great design especially the legs. Elegant joinery! I love your use of epoxy! However, it really brought out the trypophobia in me - goosebumps for a few hours!😹
Yeah I can see that. Luckily I don't suffer from that kinda thing 😆
Nice!
Thank you. Thanks for watching
Very nice job.
Thank you. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Very nice work
Hey thank you very much
Apologies for the necro thread (never used epoxy, but thinking about it)…could you just use tape around all the edges (like the leg) instead of constructing a box to pour the resin, or was this made only because the holes were completely through the wood itself?
Yes you could probably just use tape on the bottom of the slab. I used this tray only because it's something I already had and I want to get my money's worth out of it.
beautyfull
Thank you
I'm thinking of mixing the wood dust into epoxy to retain the woods natural colors when filling the worm holes, would that work you think?
It will work, but it will be a darker spot. Sometimes, I fill it with epoxy, scrape off the extra, then sand right over top, and the sawdust sticks to the epoxy.
Nice video, the router jig is something I need to build! On the smaller holes that you spread/wiped on to fill, did you simply sand the excess off or did you router that off first? I am doing a table with lots of small worm tracks and trying to figure out the best way to get the excess off.
I just sanded it off. The best thing for tiny holes is a CA glue so you can spray it with an activator
A bit of distance between your microphone and noisy machinery would make it better for your viewers.
Agreed. I try to fix it in post but I am still learning. I apologise for the noisy video.
Did you use the same deep pour epoxy on the smaller voids as well? If so any issues doing that? Im working on a table that has alot of small cracks in the face of the wood that I want to fill with Epoxy as well as a large deep void.
I think I used a table top epoxy but it was too thick to run down into the holes. I think if you have a long crack though either type would work.
I like it all, but I really like those legs! If that pour was a bad idea, then what's the solution?
The legs are definitely awesome. The pour wasn't the bad Idea it was the caulk around the perimeter of the slap instead of just around the holes. That's why it had that sheet of epoxy underneath.
Is worth the process? I mean if one would want to make money doing this. I was looking into making my own?
I'm not sure. Still haven't found a buyer for this one.
Do you fill them up with clear epoxy or do you mix the blue pigment you used with it?
I used the blue
Very nice! What were your dimensions?
It was 47 x 21 at the widest point
Hi savage work, doing a similar project, can I ask what the name of the red tape you used??
I think it was called tuck tape. I found it on Amazon

Lost me, when the ryobi saw was in use.
Yeah, I don't have the expensive stuff. That saw isn't bad though, their smaller one kinda sucks. Thanks for watching up until that point though 😄
Tool shaming is so beta.
Disgusting nasty stuff this epoxy is
Yeah. It's the latest craze though
