I am a veteran and small town maker. I am on a quest to acquire skills and knowledge of all types of creation. I do a lot of work in unconventional ways trying to learn how to make just about anything. I have my own sawmill, laser cutter, and 3D printer. My goal is to entertain and to show some tips and tricks for all to enjoy. I want to build crazy things to test my skills and increase my knowledge of how things work. I try to put a new video out at least every month so please subscribe to follow along.

Epoxy Live Edge Bar Top With Arrow Heads
Переглядів 932Рік тому
I made this live edge bar top out of ambrosia maple and real arrow heads found by the client. She gathered these arrow heads with her dad and asked me to set them into the bar top so she can cherish them forever. I was a little reluctant to encase these beautiful arrow heads in epoxy at first but she assured me that's what she wanted. This was one of my first big epoxy projects and I am very ha...

They had singular people carry this? Jeez that is so big
I don't know. I'm not even sure it's a real thing.
@@LastLeafStudioVideoBut if they actually had people carry it imagine the size of the 50 caliber version
@LincMarc-qi6xy I thought about making a .50 Cal one, but you're right. It would be huge.
That's awesome.
Thank you. I really appreciate your support.
I remember when my kid did his first CNC bump out on an old rickety shed he claimed was a shop
Smart move
Where can I get an Alexa like yours?😂
She's pretty sassy.
That looks awesome , well done !
Thank you. It currently sits in my living room and is holding up pretty well for having 3 kids.
How long did this take to build? Nicely done
It took me probably 12-16 hours
Cool watching your growing journey! Is there a way to contact you about a custom sword wall stand
Thank you. You can email me at Lastleafstudio1@gmail.com. Or message me on Instagram @lastleafstudio
Does the state of New York know you removed that floor without permits?
Oh, great. Well, they do now.
Good thing I asked for this because it looks like some parts of your shop needed cleaning😂
I definitely did put off some cleaning because I knew I was going to be redoing it anyway 🤷.
I like the MP40 decor..adds the perfect touch
I have Thompson now too ... not a real one though
I like the nesting design and the vintage military design is cool. Only issue is the union of the flag is supposed to always be in the top left. It was correct when you were carrying the boards, but when you set them up to play the union was then in the bottom left position. And I think when you're playing on the boards is the more important time to have the American flag correct. Other than that, great job. I was thinking of doing a "nesting" design, might have to try this one out. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing that info. Sometimes, you just don't know what you don't know.
It's a shame that you don't find work like this in Brazil.
You could be the one.
Awesome job, I just love it ❤, do you know what is the angle of those beautiful legs?
I built this so long ago I don't remember. I'm sorry
@@LastLeafStudioVideo no worries, thanks for getting back!

Shouldn't it just pop open with the strut when activated?
You would think so, but I think the weight on the mechanism keeps it from disengaging.
Hi! Thanks. How many pieces of wood did you use? I would love to try this myself. Ty
There's a link in the description that has all the measurements and a material list.
@@LastLeafStudioVideo thank you
@@anitamarsalek4599 you're welcome. Good luck 👍
Since you don't verbally explain to viewers what you're doing, to me the video is worthless.
Thank you for your feedback. I just recently bought a camera mic and hope to do more dialog in the future.
What do you call that lock with magnet?
I think they are magnetic cabinet locks. Might be a link in the description.
How have the post blocks head up ? I’m burping a deck basically the same but I’m getting a lot of mixed reviews with the post blocks so not sure now
If the deck is small and not attached to the house or anything, it should be fine. Mine held up just fine. We took the pool down and moved the deck to the back door for an entry deck. I set the posts in ground for that though.
What was the size of the lumber that you used thickness and width would be very helpful
DO you remember what kind of epoxy you used?
Liquid glass. There's a link in the description.
Sweet job! Thinking about doing something similar with some of my collection
Thank you. I was very nervous doing it, but it turned out just fine.
@@LastLeafStudioVideo I believe the makers would want us to enjoy and do with what we liked with the artifacts. And those are real? If so your personal finds? I was drooling about a few I saw go in! I've hunted in Eastern tennessee and southwestern Virginia for 30 or 40 years now although back in the 70s as a youngster my dad would take us out on a local lake and would hunt on the island we would visit. And to be looking at a stone blade really just fascinated me! I now have knapped a long time as well
@Wilders53 thank you for the support. Unfortunately, these were not my personal collection. I wish they were. They came from a local woman who would hunt them with her dad much like you did. She had 3 times what you saw in the video. These were just the best unbroken pieces. She also had a stone ax head that was pretty cool.
Hey ! A friend of mine, carpenter, told me that bee wax is not suitable for that type of work because of its lack of sealing abilities (apparently not enough "liquid proof", i'm sorry if its not the right word, my english is... meh). What is your feedback about this type of coating ? Thanks ! Nice vid ;)
Yeah, he's probably right. They have been making buckets and barrels out of just plane ol untreated wood for forever, so I wasn't too worried about it.
The candy killed me 😂😂.
Yeah youtube is not a fan of guns so I had to play it safe
not a psychopath but a narcissist. love it though!!!
Well good
Man i gotta tell you I've been looking for simple deck videos all over youtube. Everyone else makes it seem so complicated but your no nonsense video style made it super easy to comprehend. Thanks a ton!
Thanks. I'm glad you found it useful.

Would you have plans available for this?
I don't think I do.
Great build. I do a LOT of retirement gifts and this one is exeptional! Love the hidden compartment.
Thank you very much. The hidden compartment took some figuring out, but it was worth it.
Amazing design my friend
Thank you. I think I may have borrowed the nesting design from somewhere else on the internet.
@LastLeafStudioVideo First one I've seen in researching, but that along with the army design for VFW fits perfectly 👌
@michaelluna8451 awesome I'm glad you found it helpful
Great video, some great ideas that will make things easier!
Thank you
How much for one of these

how much did you charge approximately.? Thank you for the video
❤❤❤❤❤❤THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD YOU DO TO SHARE EVERY STEP OF MAKING POOL DECK FOR A SMALL POOL, THIS HAS VALUE IN MANY WAYS, ONLY IF YOU KNEW OF THE MANY WHO ARE THANKFUL, AND THE JOY YOU GAVE THEM, MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU, THE VIDEO IS 3 YEARS OLD BUT PEOPLE STILL SEE IT AND IS HELPING MANY, THANKS AGAIN AND BEFORE I FORGET, YOU HAVE AMAZING SKILLS TO DO IT BY YOURSELF; WOW!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much.
Awesome build!!! What's the height inside? Enough to fit an AR with a light mounted on the side?
I don't remember. I believe it was 3 or 3 ½ inches. It was made for an AR but youtube doesn't like when you show that stuff. 🙄
Very impressive 👏🏽!!!
Thank you very much
Just wanted to watch the deck get built. To many damn chickens in the way.
I know, they are awfully nosey critters
Atta boy, came out beautiful!
Thank you
Where can I find your plan and directions? I’ve looked all over.
I found the plans and have purchased. Thanx a ton!!!
Ok, awesome. Good luck
Awesome job, that look and the great reveal at the end... candy bars. Lol. Super cute.
Thank you. It's King of Random's design.
Agreed
How do I get this plan
There's a link in the description.
How long did this take you in real time
I think about 6 hours but that included another trip to the hardware store.
Awesome man!
Thank you
Is it wobbly ??
It was a little bit, so I added some 45° braces on.
@@LastLeafStudioVideo yea I just did one recently and did the same thing! Looks good man!
Great job! ❤ 👏🏼👍🏼🤘🏼
Thank you.
Do you take orders?😂😂😅
I used to, but I don't really enjoy making them anymore 😕
Tighten that chainsaw chain jeeez
Probably not a bad idea 🤔.
Thank you so much for this video! I loved it so much I then make it but put a laser engraving on top just because why not. I make it in my high school shop class to enter in my local FFA AG mechanics action. It looked really good and I just need to do some finishing touches on it. Hope it sells well and again thank you so much for making this video.❤
You are very welcome.
Shop tour is up! I made it just for you.
@@LastLeafStudioVideo Awesome! I can’t wait to tonight when I’m able to watch it. Thank you for doing that. You’re the best🎉
@Andrew-Jones I even bought a microphone.!
My husband would be asking for the screws the planks, the drill, etc . I’m proud you did this alone 😅
Thank you. I like to projects like this when everyone is gone for the day so it can be a surprise when they get home.
@@LastLeafStudioVideo that’s awesome 👏
I like doing projects when nobody is home so I don’t get any surprises 😂 I could be building my life saving device on a time limit & my grown ass adult girls would be pulling me away for some goofy shit! lol Great job! I’m looking to see how those blocks are used! My grown niece & I want a little deck around our little pool! 😅
I don’t see a height for this plan anywhere? How tall is it? Our pool is 42” deep.
Bottom right. You will want to make it about an inch taller than the outside of your pool.
