Oh goodness, it's been so long since I've watch the opening cinematic. One of the best parts about sharing these videos is when folks point out stuff like this!
@@keiferjhtheory: Velka once drew a kadokawa anime fanart. Patches made her super weak using his joke abilities and forced her to do so otherwise gwyndolin would be killed. She complied and patches undid everything. Gideon paid patches to do this
Stunlocking super Smough to Death on ng+11 is both insane and deeply satisfying! It's like revenge for the millions of deaths inflicted by O&S on all DS players.
Satisfying indeed! I was expecting to have to test if the slow walk while casting still works to avoid Smough's attacks, but a stun lock work just as well!
Sadly Chaos Storm takes 2 attunement slots and ordinarily you can only get a single copy per character (you cannot naturally get another in NG+ and beyond). It still was very tempting to use it, though!
@@keiferjh Aw, understandable. I think it may be possible to mule great chaos firestorm across multiple ng+ cycles with a second character and a lot of prism stones, but that's a whole lot of work for not a whole lot of payoff.
I've been meaning to learn how to glitch drop spells, and see if there's a way to even dupe them without another character. It may not be worth a whole run, but I do want to play around with Chaos Storm too!
@@keiferjh I admit, I am far from an expert in things like this, but there may be a way to combine the negative quantity drop and spell drop glitches to produce a single-player spell-dupe. If I had to guess: Item cram to get a stack of a non-stackable weapon you can purchase, then clear your inventory back to normal limits again. Drop a large number of prism stones and make sure they're rendered on your screen, (number depends on what device you're playing on, good PC's are tough, but consoles are generally easy to work with.) This should set up the spell drop glitch. Pretend to purchase another instance of your stacked weapon but cancel instead of actually buying it. This should store the negative quantity. The trick is finding out how to get one to the other. Ordinarily for the spell drop one just goes from weapon, drop, cancel to the spell very quickly, but that might not work since spells don't bring up the drop number menu. Alternately, maybe you just fully reach the inventory limit, drop the prism stones, do the spell drop, try once to pick it back up, then reduce your weight and pick it back up again? That duplicates weapons and armour, and semi-consistently duplicates rings, perhaps it'll work with spells?
Thanks! I initially went in with the idea of using Chaos Storm but it ended up being less feasible for what I wanted to do with the run. Chaos Storm uses two attunement slots and you can also only get one copy on a single character, regardless of how many new games you play through. In terms of damage Chaos Storm can be more damage as long as the target also gets hit, potentially multiple times, by the lava puddle it leaves behind.
I'm glad you liked it! It's an application of Spell Swap. I have a more detailed video for the general version, but in short you cast one spell with a spell tool while switching spells and then the next frame cast a different spell with a different spell tool. You end up getting the animations of the first spell but the result of the second. In this case you can cast from Fire Surge into Fire Tempest and get the continuous cast of fire pillars. The only extra bit is that you have to hold the input for the second cast to keep it going.
"The Witches weaved great firestorms..."

Switch it out for chaos firestorm and you could get the lore accurate ceaseless discharge cosplay!

Damn gwyn was right about waging war against the demons and pyromancers....
They're a dangerous bunch :D
Everyone: "Dark Souls is a hard game!"
Keifer: "...Not if you play it right"
Glitches: The unofficial difficulty slider :D
“One Shotting” many bosses and enemies in new game 11!
It worked even better than I expected!
Great content mate
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Beavis: Yes, yes, fire, fire, fire.
What's better than fire? More fire!
Cool run! Why not Chaos Storm instead? Does it do less damage? Either way, it’s still really cool.

Can this be done on dsr on xbox one?
It should be possible, though I've not personally tested it.
Nice
